夏のはじまり、梅雨の合間にぴったり!海チカRVパークで夏旅スタート!千葉で快適車中泊

We’re a family traveling and sleeping in our camper van, a Toyota Hiace. We enjoy weekend van life adventures together. This time, we’re spending the weekend in Chiba Prefecture. We hope you enjoy watching till the end! Open until midnight? That’s awesome! Super convenient! We’re heading out for some shopping. Alright, we’re done shopping and heading to our destination. How much farther? 14 km—should arrive around 10:20. That’s about 20 more minutes to go. Alright! Huh? *laughter* Hey, it looks like this one is working. The green light is on. Yeah, it worked! Looks like check-in is complete. I think we’re good. At first, it didn’t recognize the button here. Ah, there’s a button underneath this part. Oh, this red one? If the QR code doesn’t scan, you can press the red reset button below the camera box. Then scan the QR code again to check in. Glad it worked out! Yes, all good! Now we’ve got unlimited electricity! It’s about 25.2°C outside and 27°C inside the van. Seems like it’s hovering between 25 to 27 degrees. The thermometer is inside the van. Yeah, it’s hot. Should we turn on the AC? Yeah, good idea. The Keynice foldable USB fan is cordless— perfect for van life and outdoor adventures! Super easy to carry. Perfect. Setting up the trash bin. This is a dry bag from Daiso. It’s waterproof, so even if something leaks, no worries! Time to prep dinner in the van. Tonight, we’re having ready-made food. Cheers! Ahh! So refreshing! Suijin is really crisp, right? It goes well with food! Yeah! Suijin soda—mixed with soda water. It’s seriously delicious. Lately, I’ve been hooked on this. You can tell by how much is gone, right? Alright, shall we dig in? Yes, let’s eat! That scallop looks amazing. Let’s eat. Oh wow. So good! Good evening again! Right now, we’re in Chiba Prefecture. We’re spending the night here at RV Park Smart in Chiba. It’s summer, after all. So the AC, the fan, and even the microwave were super helpful today. Very convenient! So, where are we exactly? We’re at RV Park Smart Ōamishirasato! Seems like it’s a brand-new spot. Each site has AC power hookups, of course. There’s a coin laundry right next to us— Yeah, I saw it! And maybe a coin shower too? Haven’t checked yet. But they do have shower rooms. It all looks really new and clean. Hey—don’t you smell the ocean? I do! The streets nearby kind of feel like beach town roads. So many places! And the beach is really close. Such a great location, right? Yeah, totally love it. We’re not going into the ocean tomorrow… But if we could, that would be fun too—with showers available and all. This place is awesome! And it looks like there’s a water tap too. Oh really? That’s great, super convenient! But it seems like only two vans can park here. Yeah, that’s right. Once beach season starts, it might get really crowded! Yeah, especially during summer vacation! That would be great! Totally agree. Apparently, a lot of people come here to fish or surf. So if there are lots of surfers, SUP might be tough, right? Yeah, the waves are high. I’m sure skilled people can do it though. But not with our skill level! We’d probably drown. Totally. Also, there’s a roadside station nearby. I’d love to check it out. Yes! I want to buy some veggies or something. We found out we can use the coin laundry’s toilet. It’s open 24 hours! And since it’s a coin laundry, it smells amazing! And it’s super clean, too! Time to erase all evidence from last night’s feast. My daughter is helping with the dishes—thank you! The trick is not to leave the water running. Just a gentle stream while washing. Gently running water. Well, maybe a bit stronger… Since we’re not at home, running the tap wastes water quickly. Looks like we’ll need to restock the coffee beans soon. Ah, still a little left! You’re spilling it everywhere! *laughs* Careful, it’s hot! I meant to say, “Be careful, it’s hot!” Our daughter is really shining today! She’s gone from “a kid who can do it” to “unstoppable once she starts.” There we go! Oh—hot hot hot! Ball time starts suddenly during cleanup time. She thinks it’s playtime with the ball now. Alright, time to hit the road. We’re heading to Umi-no-Eki Kujukuri nearby. It’s 6.8 km away—about 15 minutes. Only a 15-minute drive. Super close. Let’s go! We’ve arrived! The parking lot is nice and spacious. Hopefully we’re not in the way here. Yeah, you’re right. Umi-no-Eki Kujukuri — Open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They’ve got a playground! Air swing? Hmm… not quite what we expected. *laughs* Our daughter joins in. Looks like she’s into it! What is she even doing? *laughs* This town is the only one in Japan with a blue mailbox. It’s blue!! It feels weird just because we’re not used to it. Not “Umaibo” but “Mazaibo” (Bad stick snack)! Oh! It’s from the Choshi Electric Railway! Want to get some? They have cheese and corn potage flavors. A tank full of sardines! There’s a stamp here—Isn’t that Kukurin? Is it? Oh, you’re right! It is Kukurin! There’s a food court on the second floor. Sardine Museum — Open 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Time to shop for groceries. They have a great variety of fish cakes. The sardine dumplings look delicious. So many veggies too! Can I get some? Yep, go ahead. Fresh fish market. So many clams! Fresh clams everywhere. They look amazing—and huge! They’ll even grill the clams over charcoal for you here! They’ve got grilled squid and scallops too. We’re eating on the terrace on the second floor. That grilled clam looks so good! Is it seasoned? Yeah! They added some flavor to it. What kind of flavor? Maybe dashi-based? Hmm! Looks amazing. Across from Umi-no-Eki is the Katakai Fishing Port seafood market,
selling freshly caught fish and shellfish. You can fish here too! Look at that splash! Whoa, you’re right! They’re jumping like crazy! The tide’s coming in now—fish are swimming into the port. Oh really? Oh, here they come! That’s wild! Yeah, tons of them! Amazing. There were lots of anglers there! Yep. They said this tide is pushing the fish toward the shore! Right, right. It’s the best time for fishing! What time is it now? It’s noon. Oh, nice! Alright, next stop: roadside station! Yep! The roadside station has a hot spring, so we’re heading there next. Feels like a surf town, right? Yeah, the waves are pretty strong. We’ve arrived at Roadside Station Mutsuzawa Tsudoi-no-Sato. We just got here! Tsudoi Market is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Mutsuzawa Onsen “Tsudoi-no-Yu” is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. There’s a hot spring here! And there’s a supermarket nearby too—super convenient! Look! There’s a grassy plaza over there. Looks like a great place to play. The hot spring is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Last admission is 8:30 PM. Two elementary school tickets. That was such a nice bath! We’re back at the car now. The bath water had a color to it! It was kind of brown, right? And there was a sauna too! Yep—and an outdoor bath as well. Amazing! Seriously, it was great and so clean! And they had a restaurant inside. Yeah, and also a little fresh produce market kind of area. Even inside the bathhouse, there was a spot to grab a quick bite. Like light meals and snacks. This roadside station is definitely a place we’d come back to. Alright, we’ll see you again in the next video! Bye-bye!
