日本海に面した福井県坂井市の断崖、東尋坊。サスペンスドラマで犯人が追い詰められるクライマックスの撮影地として有名です。また高さ25ｍほどの巨大な柱状節理の壁は世界に３カ所しかない奇岩でできていて、地質学上、貴重な場所だそうです。
Tojinbo is a cliff in Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan. It is famous as the location for filming the climax of a suspense drama where the criminal is cornered. The huge columnar jointed wall, about 25m high, is made of strange rocks, which are only found in three places in the world. It is a valuable geological material.

すごい。パルテノン神殿の柱のような極太の柱状節理ですね。海側から見てこその風景です。
