[Music] [Applause] Thank you for watching as always! This time, we’re going to take a look at Yokohama Ramen Saitoya Shuzenji, located right across the road from Cainz Shuzenji in Izu City. This restaurant is relatively new, having only opened a little over a year ago, but if you’re a fan of family-style ramen, you’ll probably be saying, “I’ve been there a long time ago!”The restaurant is located in Uryuno, Izu City, and is called Yokohama Ramen Saitoya Shuzenji.Opening hours are 11AM-3PM on weekdays, and 11AM-3PM and 5PM-8PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, with holidays closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We actually visited the restaurant on a weekend night, but since it’s hard to see at night, we’ve only used daytime footage at the beginning and end of the video. As for parking, there are spaces for five cars next to the restaurant, and the parking lot is made of concrete and is flat, so it should be easy to park your motorcycle there as well. When waiting in line, it appears that you purchase a meal ticket before sitting down. Now, let’s take a look at the ticket machine! The menu is simple, with ramen or char siu ramen in regular, medium, or large sizes, rice or small rice, or mabushi donburi with large or small rice and toppings of egg, spinach, onions, cabbage, lettuce , char siu, all-purpose green onions, Kujo green onions, spiced green onions, and three types of green onions. You also have to decide your preference for noodles, flavor, and oil before handing over your meal ticket. Is this what they call a “call”? After purchasing your meal ticket, you wait your turn on a chair outside. While I was waiting and deciding on my preference for noodles, flavor, and oil, a waiter called me, so I went in. Let’s get started! The table service looks like this . From the left, there was pepper, garlic, doubanjiang, ginger, chopped ginger, and vinegar. By the way, there was only counter seating, and there were too many customers to take a picture of the inside of the restaurant. I also asked for my ramen preferences of firm noodles, flavor, and regular oil. Inside the ramen It’s 1000 yen. The ingredients are pork, spinach, seaweed, and the soup that is unique to this ramen shop. For some reason, once you try a ramen shop like this, you get addicted to it. And the noodles that are unique to this ramen shop are also good. I asked for the noodles to be firm, so they were chewy and well mixed with the soup, and they were really delicious. I would like to try the [softer] version once, but I always ask for it to be firm. And I understand the desire to add spinach, which everyone loves, to the decent-sized pork. Next, the soup, which I personally found a little salty. When it was served, they said, “Please let me know if you want a strong or weak flavor,” but since I had asked for it myself, it was difficult to say, “I want it to be weak,” so I ate it as it was. I think it’s good for people who like strong flavors, but if you like light flavors, it might be better to order it light. You can also enjoy changing the flavor with garlic or doubanjiang along the way, and I added vinegar at the end and was surprised at how delicious it was. If you like vinegar, I recommend this. Next is the regular char siu ramen. It’s 1,150 yen plus an additional 150 yen for a nori topping. This is the ultimate luxury. With this bowl full of pork slices and a huge amount of nori, you’ll probably want to add some rice on top. So I decided to order an additional small Mabushi bowl for 300 yen. Would it be better value to have the pork slices on top? I thought so and tried this. The finely chopped pork rice bowl is covered in sauce and is very delicious. I was supposed to dip the seaweed in the ramen soup and eat it with rice, but the taste of the mabushi rice bowl made me forget about the seaweed and I ate the whole thing in a flash (lol). Family-style ramen is really addictively delicious, isn’t it? One of the fun things about it is that you can make your own original bowl of ramen with your favorite firmness or richness, various toppings, and table service. If you have your own favorite way of eating it, please let me know in the comments . Now, I would like to move on to the next restaurant. Please read to the end. The Saito-ya that I just introduced is at the place where the arrow is pointing. The place I’m heading to is about a 5-minute walk from that arrow, so it’s quite close. I was looking forward to coming here because I heard that they serve a delicious set lunch with good value for money. I looked up the opening time on the internet and arrived before opening time, but there were already a lot of cars parked there. This restaurant, which has been very popular since opening, is also located in Uryuno, Izu City [Ramen University]. Ishimatsu Business hours are 11:30-14:00 and 17:00-21:30, and the restaurant is closed on Thursdays. There is a parking lot in front of and next to the restaurant, and it is flat and concrete, so it is easy to park your bike. It’s time, but no one has come out of their car… Well, let’s go without worrying! I’m in the way. The opening time on the internet was wrong, and customers had already entered the restaurant, so this was the only photo I could take of the inside of the restaurant. By the way, there are two tables with chairs for four people, two tatami tables for four people , and two tatami tables for six people, so the restaurant can accommodate a maximum of 28 people. Now, let’s take a look at the menu! There are no menus on the tables, but you order from the ones posted on the wall. The top is soy sauce flavor and the bottom is miso flavor. From the left, they are ramen, butter, char siu, spicy, green onion spicy, medium spicy, very spicy, very spicy, rich, rich char siu, spicy rich, spicy rich char siu ramen , and other dishes include special Ishimatsu ramen, stamina meat ramen with rice, half rice, fried rice, and gyoza. In addition to the soy sauce and miso flavors, they also have pork bone ramen, stir-fried offal, and stir-fried meat, and the stir- fried dishes can be made into a set meal with soup for +250 yen. By the way, the information about the lunch special set is out of date and it seems to have ended now… which is a shame. There are no large servings, and it seems to be a system of refills. If you order refills in advance, they will be served faster. Once you have decided what to order, fill out the menu and quantity on the paper in this box. お腹いっぱいです。 ご馳走さまでした。 English: Once you hand it to the staff, it’s done . The table service looks like this: vinegar soy sauce, chili oil, and pepper. Now that the order is complete, let’s be smart and wait for the food to arrive . First up is the gyoza for 400 yen. The size is a common type of normal size, and at first glance it looks like there isn’t much filling because it looks flat. When you lift it up, it looks like this. My impression after eating it is that the filling inside is on the soft side, with a fairly strong garlic flavor. The filling is also quite rich, so I think it would be delicious even without the vinegar soy sauce. The rich pork ramen is 950 yen. The thick oil layer on the surface of the soup and the large amount of back fat make for an impactful ramen. As the name suggests, it is very rich in flavor. The toppings are standard, with pork slices, bamboo shoots, two pieces of nori, and spring onions. The noodles are medium-thick curly noodles, and these medium-thick curly noodles with a strong texture go well with the soup and are really delicious. The main part of the ramen is the pork slices, which are quite rich in flavor and thick, so they are very satisfying to eat! There are five pieces of this. You eat the nori with the noodles, but you’ll want rice with this. The bamboo shoots are also delicious, making this a very satisfying bowl of ramen. The soup itself is quite thick and crisp, and the oily layer on top and the large amount of back fat are not as oily as they look, so you can drink it without any hesitation. The burnt green onions are also a great accent. The thick soup goes well with the medium-thick curly noodles, making this a really delicious bowl of ramen. The thickly cut pork slices were also delicious, and I think it was a very satisfying ramen. To pay, take your receipt to the cash register next to the entrance. Please note that payment is only accepted in cash. Both the gyoza and ramen are strongly seasoned, so the customer base is mostly male. By the way, I found out later that the fried rice here is also very delicious . It’s a shame that there is no half-sized fried rice . If you have the opportunity, why not visit Ishimatsu’s restaurant? Thank you for watching until the end. I hope you found this video helpful or interesting.
