Barakura Flower Show 2025, a British gardening festival
Hello, I’m Ichiro 😊 Today, I came to the Tateshina Kogen Barakura English Garden in Nagano Prefecture. June 5, 2025 Today is the first day of the Barakura Flower Show✌️ There are classic British cars on display in front of the entrance. The admission fee is 2,000 yen, but I entered with an annual pass. I stopped by on my way home from Nakanojo Gardens. There are so many places I want to visit on this rare sunny day before the rainy season begins. 😊 It’s no exaggeration to say that I stopped by to see this symbolic tree… However, I want to make sure to see all of the show gardens and the container gardening art exhibition.😊 There are 10 show gardens on display in the garden, and the first one won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award. The title is “Buddies in Bloom… A Small Garden Promoting Wellbeing.” The containers on the chairs are made from recycled tires. Next is “Garden Wedding in BARAKURA.” The next Cool Garden & Herb Garden does not have a show garden on display, but let’s take a stroll as usual. Peonies are in bloom😊 The symbol tree is visible😊 The cicadas are chirping loudly again this year.😅 Next is the rose garden. These are peonies, not roses. Because of the high altitude, the roses will start blooming in about two weeks. Rosa rugosa are in bloom. Alice in Wonderland garden. A refreshing breeze is blowing. 😊 Echinacea in the dappled sunlight. The sound of bagpipes can be heard. 🤔 PLANTS AWARD (A competition where the finest ornamental plants from seed companies across Japan are gathered.) I thought it was only in the morning, but unexpectedly, bagpipe music began 😃 Now for the next show garden. “Paradise in the Garden” This is “Forest Jewel Box.” I was planning to walk around the garden clockwise, but the bagpipes caught my attention, so let’s go check them out. 😅 I’ve never seen a live bagpipe performance. I definitely want to see it before the performance ends. 😊 The person playing now has performed at numerous state events, such as the British royal baby parade and the king’s banquet. Mr. Steven Duffy I was moved by the live bagpipe performance, but I was also deeply impressed by the traditional costumes. 😃 I think this is a scene I will never forget until I die. 🌿 Thank you very much. For some reason, the pavilion looks more beautiful than usual. I wonder if cicadas sing in spring in England too? 🤔 This is the show garden. “Hepatica Paradise” Next is the “Bird Path ~ Fusion of Japanese and Western Gardens,” featuring driftwood. The Barakura English Garden is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. At first, the trees were so small that the owner was worried, but now they have grown into a beautiful forest. Applause 👏👏👏 I love this forest. 😊 I’ve already walked along the bird path, so let’s go left. Earlier, I walked down this path to see a bagpipe performance, but now I’m going to see the show garden. I can see it coming into view. The title is “Encounter.” Huh?🤔 Let’s march to the music that has started again! It’s the show garden. The title is “Welcome to the Forest Garden.” The sun is shining nicely. 😊 “Well BEEing Meadow Garden” “The Gazebo of Fluttering Dreams” The bagpipe performance has ended, and so has our tour of the garden. Finally, let’s take a look at the “Container Gardening Art Exhibition” held in the courtyard with the symbolic tree. Congratulations to Barakura English Garden on its 35th anniversary! No. 1 won the British Embassy in Japan Award. The winners of each award have already been decided, but there is also a separate popularity contest for visitors. The golden acacia, which is also the symbol tree, won the Ichiro Award✌️ No. 9 won the Grand Prix. No. 16 won the British Embassy in Japan Award. The Union Jack and the Japanese flag. No. 32 won the Grand Prix. No. 52 won the British Embassy in Japan Award. That concludes the video. Thank you for watching the video until the end. See you in the next video! 😊

nice to walk again. gardening can seem easy but in fact its very difficult ! old cars are nice looking it seems there is a Jaguar. ! I like the harmony of these gardens … the old trees are majestic. from what I know in Europe cicadas live in the southern regions.( south of France and Europe ). … thank you to take us far from the reality in such a wonderful world …😍
I enjoyed the participants' various flower decorations because there were plenty of things to see.
Hi Ichiro lovely video fantastic displays glad you liked the bagpipes playing i think the Cicadas were trying to compete ,i don!t think we have them in the U K we have grasshoppers and crickets but they are not as vocal as the Cicadas .All the best.
