Hello, this is kutsuoto. Today I’m heading to Arita for the first time since the Arita Pottery Fair. It’s been a while since I visited Arita Será. This 66,000㎡ space is home to many porcelain specialty shops. There are also hotels and restaurants on site. Let’s start with this exciting space. Perfect pieces for the coming season. Charming red-painted porcelain. Feeling hungry, I head to the bakery café inside. Freshly baked bread, chosen freely and spontaneously. It’s such a joy to use beautiful Arita ware at the table. Arita ware began in 1616. “1616 / arita japan” was born to carry on Arita’s history and craftsmanship. It proposes a rich lifestyle with Arita ware through spatial design. The walls and ceiling are finished with plaster mixed with porcelain stone. Creative Director It’s nice to take time to choose the perfect pieces while enjoying coffee. Coffee by La Marzocco “2016/” was launched to commemorate 400 years of Arita ware. Arita ware created by 16 design teams from Japan and abroad. Traditional Arita ware meets contemporary design. Coffee by BIG-GAME designed item Designs are developed to highlight each kiln’s unique characteristics. The SITAKU series is simple and functional. I love using this ladle rest—so easy and practical. Many shops also offer traditional Arita designs. I hope to keep finding pieces that feel just right for me.
