Good morning! This is bien. I travel two or three times a month. This time, my destination is Minamiaso Village in Kumamoto Prefecture . Minamiaso Village is the world’s largest caldera village . It was formed in 2005 by the merger of three villages. It is blessed with magnificent natural resources such as the magnificent scenery of Mt. Aso, beautiful spring water, and hot springs. It is also easily accessible from Kumamoto Airport and is a popular tourist destination visited by many people. As of April 30, 2025, the population is 9,970. This time, we will enjoy a Kumamoto driving trip with Minamiaso Village as the main focus. Please watch until the end. Let’s depart . We will fly from Haneda Airport to Kumamoto Airport using Solaseed Air. In no time, we will be in the sky . Is that the Izu Peninsula in the distance ? Is that Hakone in the foreground? Before I knew it I was fast asleep I think we’ve probably already entered Kumamoto prefecture Landing at Kumamoto airport Welcome to the center of Kyushu After going a little further we found Kumamon Airport There is Kumamon Airport , where Kumamon, who has become a pilot, will introduce trivia about Kumamoto and the airport It’s amazing there are Kumamon everywhere There are so many things in Kumamoto airport The inside of the building is very beautiful There are a row of restaurants in the zone next to the airport There’s also a gym There’s also a Choco Zap lol It’s kind of interesting that there is a Choco Zap next to the airport It’s really thriving I didn’t know it was this thriving Kumamoto – there’s Kumamon here too This time, for 2 of the 3-day, 2-night trip we’re going to the south and north of Aso so if it were Nami, Robin, Franky and Usopp we might be able to make it! This time we’re taking the car share to the very far away Minamiaso area. It takes about 30 minutes by car from the airport to the Minamiaso area . We’re heading there while enjoying a detour and drive. It’s the season for new greenery, so it ‘s really green and beautiful . Kumamoto is great. Aso is close to the airport, so if you rent a car from the airport, it’s easy to go on a drive. We came to see the Nami statue at Tawarayama Community Center Moenosato. It has a great atmosphere. It’s about 10 minutes from the airport and there’s this nice view ! We found the Nami statue. Amazing nature is spreading out before us ! Amazing! There’s some treasure lying around . Is there any real money mixed in with the treasure? I wonder if it’s life-size with some real ones mixed in. Time for a commemorative photo. Let’s take a look at the food. I found something unusual. I bought some asparagus chikuwa and some dumplings. I think next time on this trip, I’ll go up the mountain path. Wow, this is my first time on this path. I climbed the mountain in one go and a spectacular view spread out before me. Take a look at the wonderful view of Aso. Welcome to Minamiaso village. I guess I’ll park in the parking lot here and walk to the observation deck. What kind of view is waiting for me? Tawarayama Pass Observation Deck There is a map of Minamiaso. Today, we will mainly tour the southern side of Aso . It’s close to the parking lot. I wonder how many meters it will take to walk. It’s a bit of a hill to climb, but we’ll arrive soon. The chirps of the birds are quite loud. The birds are also singing. The sign is a little worn and hard to see, but we’ve arrived. Wow, it’s a wonderful view with greenery spreading out. Before that I’ll have an early gourmet meal at the place I stopped at earlier while looking at the delicious-looking natural scenery. It ‘s amazing even when viewed from a distance. Asparagus and chikuwa heaven . The feeling of freedom in nature is amazing . The chikuwa and asparagus have a nostalgic taste. The scenery is so good it makes it twice as delicious. Next I also had some dumplings. The sweet potato and azuki beans are about 7:3, 6:4 or 7:3, so there’s a lot of sweet potato and it’s delicious. The background is really amazing and the birds are chirping too . Great BGM . Aso is the best! For now, we parked in the parking lot. It was a bit more crowded than we expected. Opposite the parking lot is a spectacular view. There’s some kind of horse riding there. You can ride horses. There’s also a promenade here with warning signs. The sense of openness is incredible. It’s May, so the sun is a bit strong, but it’s pretty cool! By the way, it might be a bit chilly if you’re not walking. There are two places here, like this one. There are people climbing up there and people going here. It’s in the direction of the crater of Mt. Aso, so I think this one is better for now. Wow, it changes a lot just by climbing a little. I wonder why I didn’t climb it the last time I came here (I think it was snow). The view is so good. If you go around this curve and climb up, there’s an observation deck at the top. The view over there is also good, but it’s completely different . I think this side is the Aso crater, I think it’s really impressive . There are a lot of horses 💩💩. Wow ! There are two types, hot and dried, and they are different colors, so it’s really dangerous and you might step on them . I could just sit here for 2-3 hours. I’ve packed my schedule too much today and my flight was a little delayed, so I’m running late, but I think I’ll take it easy for a bit. Smoke is coming out. Unexpectedly, I stayed for only one minute, but they told me to evacuate for a moment, so I went back . Apparently, if I feel better, I’ll be able to re-enter, but I guess it won’t be possible today. Wow, I was a little worried just now. I think it wasn’t just my imagination that my eyes started to sting and I started coughing. Which color would you choose from these? This is the first time I’ve seen this. I paid 1000 yen and left in 1 minute. I wonder if there’s a good time of year, and it’s like that all year round. Maybe it’s also a bit of luck? Finally, we arrived at Takamori Station, which is amazing and very stylish . In the back, there’s a train with an illustration of One Piece on it. Yeeeeess, we’ve arrived . Next, we arrived at Minamiaso Railway Takamori Station. This is a railway that runs 17.7 km inside the Aso Caldera. Next, we visit a mysterious shrine in Takamori Town on the east side of Mount Aso. This place is popular, and the parking lot was really crowded. We visit Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine. Today is Wednesday, so there was a restaurant I was interested in, but it was closed, so I had the Akagyūdon for lunch at Yokayoka-tei, just like last time. Kumamon is also here . They also have yakiniku. You order yakiniku, take it yourself from the fridge and grill it . I think the recommended part is the hamburger steak. The first thing that arrived was the horse sashimi. It was topped with plenty of ginger and green onions. It looked really delicious. Now I’m eating it. I haven’t eaten much horse sashimi, so I was curious about the flavor, but it went well with the ginger and green onions. It had a fairly hard texture, but it was delicious. However, it was a bit too grilled. But I thought I’d like to try it. The sizzling sound and the fragrant smell made it a surreal image. The serving robot was very busy . It was a meat festival. Each was 2,475 yen including tax. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten a hamburger. It’s a fairly hard hamburger, and it looks pretty normal. But when I tried it, the more I chewed it , the more flavor it overflowed. It’s hard to describe, but from about the third bite, the flavor of the beef started to come out. Next, I had the Akagyudon. It was delicious just as it was, but it was even more delicious when eaten with egg and wasabi. Eating the Akagyudon with the flavor of the hamburger still in it, and eating horse sashimi and rice was the best. Thank you for the meal . The hamburger was delicious! Well, everything was delicious, but the more I chewed the hamburger, the more flavor it came out. It had a unique flavor! I thought I’d eat ramen after eating the beef, but I couldn’t eat it. I bought some groceries at Lawson and headed to tonight’s hotel. Are we going in here? Tonight’s hotel is in a slightly unusual place, or rather, it’s scary . Amazing! It’s in a place like a secret base . Oh, we’re still going ahead. Are we going to go this far? (There’s no road on the navigation system) It has an amazing atmosphere.
