2024(令和6)年3月25日、伊賀市教育委員会は旧市役所庁舎（同市上野丸之内）屋上に設置した電気仕掛けの楽器「ミュージックサイレン」を市有形文化財に指定した。

当時、正午を知らせるのはモーターサイレンであったため、戦時中の悪夢や火災警報と間違えるなどからミュージックサイレンに切り替える機運が高まる。
1958(昭和33)年7月に落成した上野市産業会館(現ハイトピア伊賀)屋上に第1世代機の初代ミュージックサイレンが設置され、
1959(昭和34)年3月26日の正午「魔弾の射手」の吹鳴で幕を開ける。
設置費用は当時の金額で総額約42万円、可聴範囲は約4km四方に及ぶ。

1964(昭和39)年12月10日 上野市南庁舎(旧伊賀市役所本庁舎)竣工
1975(昭和50)年代ごろから老朽化により定時吹鳴を中止
1977(昭和52)年 修理をしたが冬場には具合が悪くなる
1982(昭和57)年2月 吹鳴停止
1982(昭和57)年9月 上野市南庁舎に移設(作業中だが・・・)
1982(昭和57)年 上野市南庁舎の屋上に第1世代機の2代目(184号機)8音階モデルを設置
購入費用は約700万円、長さ4.4m、幅1.5m、高さ2mの家型防護室も設置
これを最後に第1世代機の生産と保守用部品の製造が終了
1983(昭和58)年1月1日 運用開始、7時の「朝」の後に鍵盤で作曲:上真行「一月一日(いちげつ いちじつ)」を演奏

旧伊賀市役所本庁舎のミュージックサイレンは今年で設置40年。
建物は近代建築の巨匠である板倉準三氏設計の貴重な作品であることから保存活用計画が策定され、2019(平成31)年3月26日に伊賀市指定有形文化財になる。
伊賀上野城周辺一帯を整備する「伊賀市にぎわい忍者回廊整備」により2025(令和7)年ごろ開業予定。

設置されているミュージックサイレンは8音階モデルで、白鍵部分のドレミファソラシド、CDEFGABCが発音できる。
羽根車の直径は35cmで、長さ345cm、幅100cm、高40cm、重量1.2tで設置にはコンクリートベースを用意してくださいとある。
その他の曲名として、菩提樹、埴生の宿、吹け春風、野ばら(ウェルナー)、春の小川、ヴォルガの舟歌、が用意されている。

On March 25, 2024, the Iga City Board of Education designated the electrically powered musical instrument “Music Siren” installed on the roof of the old city hall building (Ueno Marunouchi, Iga City) as a city tangible cultural property.

At that time, it was the motor siren that notified noon, so the momentum to switch to the music siren increased because it was mistaken for a nightmare during the war or a fire alarm.
The first-generation music siren was installed on the roof of the Ueno City Industrial Hall, which was completed in July 1958, and opened at noon on March 26, 1959 with the sound of “Der Freischütz”.

The music siren of the former Iga City Hall main government building has been installed for 40 years this year.
Since the building is a valuable work designed by Junzo Itakura, a master of modern architecture, a conservation and utilization plan was formulated, and it will become a tangible cultural property designated by Iga City on March 26, 2019.
Scheduled to open around 2025 due to the “Iga City Ninja Corridor Development” that will improve the area around Iga Ueno Castle.
