I came to Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. This time, my mother and daughter are going on a two-day, one-night trip to Kanazawa. First, we take the “Castle Town Kanazawa Tour Bus” to Omicho Market. It’s a bit of a cliché when it comes to Kanazawa, but we have to eat seafood, so we went to the popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant “Morimori Sushi”. We came on a weekday lunch, but luckily we were able to get in within about five minutes. Next, we went to “Higashi Chaya District”. It’s a popular area that represents Kanazawa. By the way, it’s rare nationwide for a historic entertainment district to remain in a state similar to that of the time. We went to the roasted tea specialty store “Issho” before ordering. After tasting the aroma of the tea leaves, you can choose your favorite tea leaves. This is a recommended shop where you can enjoy delicious tea and aromas. It is another teahouse district about 5 minutes walk from Higashi Chaya District. The area is characterized by a castle town-like townscape. There is also a spot in the area where you can take a commemorative photo with the local mascot “Hyakuman-san”. We return to Kanazawa Station. From here, we move to today’s accommodation, “Hyakurakuso” in Kanazawa Yuwaku Onsen . Details of the hotel have been summarized in another video, so if you are interested, please check it out. Good morning It’s the second day of my trip It’s nice There are cafes and restaurants in the park so you can take a leisurely stroll I had tea and sweets at a nice shop with a view of the garden I walked from Kenrokuen to the “21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa” There are many free viewing areas so it’s a spot you can drop in easily It is the castle of the Maeda family of the Kaga domain famous for the Kaga 1 million koku It is now maintained as a park Some of the buildings still exist as they were in the Edo period, but many have been restored in recent years Some of the restored areas had places where you could visit the inside By the way, “Kaga 1 million koku” is about 270 billion yen in annual sales if converted into today’s value The Kaga domain was extremely rich, so its culture and economy developed and it became the fourth largest metropolis in the country The “Shinmon” shrine, which enshrines Maeda Toshiie and his wife Omatsu, is a rare Japanese, Chinese and Western architectural style in Japan, and although it is a shrine, stained glass is used It has a mysterious feeling even though it is a shrine To conclude the trip, I went to a place I really wanted to go to, with an open ceiling! I can’t believe this is a library… Ishikawa Prefecture has such great taste! Even the special exhibitions are amazing! The “Window of Encounters” is a place where you can find amazing new books.
