This time, I rediscovered the charm of my hometown and discovered the best healing space. It is the “Enbara River Underground Water” and “Tokoji Temple” in Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture. Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture is located in the blue area on the map of Gifu Prefecture. It is north of Gifu City. I was worried about where to park, so I parked my car about 3km before the underground water and started walking. I walked for about 30 minutes to the underground water. It is the season of fresh green leaves, so the mountains and trees are lively. On the way to the underground water, I was able to see a lot of beautiful scenery! The color of the rock moss makes you feel the fresh green ☺ The water is clear and beautiful! The fresh green is vivid! I have come up quite a bit. The river is beautiful on the way, so I was glad to be able to walk while taking pictures. It is about half way (15 minutes) to the underground water. There were stairs, so I went down. The water is really clear! The contrast between the clear water and the moss covering the rocks is really beautiful! The water is emerald green! We walked quite a distance, but we found a temporary parking lot near the “Maruhara River Underground Water” where about 8 cars can be parked. We arrived at the underground water! The location of the “Maruhara River Underground Water” is as shown on the map. The clear water and the beautiful river with moss clinging to the rocks have been selected as one of the “100 Best Environments of Gibu Water and Greenery”. Water gushes out from between the rocks with great force. The rock moss and the shadows of light and shadow are wonderful! It’s hard to take pictures! The water flows out from between the rocks with great force. The secret to the clarity of the water is that the Maruhara River is “underground water”. Underground water is a phenomenon in which flowing water sinks into the ground and then springs out again from between the rocks. The Maruhara River is surrounded by limestone rocks, and the river water is purified while it sinks into the ground for about 2 kilometers. The “Maruhara River Underground Water” has attracted attention as “Japan’s most beautiful underground water”. Natural negative ions are soothing! How beautiful! In summer mornings, you can see the “light beams” of sunlight shining through the trees. I’d like to try it again. There are a lot of people during the light beam season, so be careful where you park. On the way back to the parking lot, I found a great photo spot. It was a healing space surrounded by fresh greenery and negative ions. The sun has risen quite a bit, so it’s time to move to Toko-ji Temple. Toko-ji Temple is a Zen temple with over 500 years of history, originating in the Muromachi period. The grounds of Toko-ji Temple boast a vast area of ​​about 10,000 square meters, and beautiful nature spreads throughout the seasons. The main hall and the Buddha statue (Enku Buddha Kannon seated statue) that it possesses are designated tangible cultural properties by Yamagata City. The head priest and his wife aim to make it a “temple that can be visited and enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, just like Kyoto.” Various events are held here, including workshops, markets, exhibitions by contemporary artists, and illuminations . We visited the courtyard for an admission fee of 500 yen per person. You can visit by ringing the intercom and calling out. A beautiful courtyard! It is soothing to be surrounded by fresh greenery and silence. The moss garden in front of the main hall is also known as the “moss temple of Gifu,” and its beauty surrounded by silence soothes the hearts of those who visit. Events such as lighting up the fresh greenery and lighting up the autumn leaves are also held. I couldn’t make a reservation for the lighting up the fresh greenery, but I would like to try it again. There are also events such as night zazen meetings, daytime viewing of the fresh greenery of the Enkianthus azalea, and intercultural exchange meetings. Tokoji Temple has the mountain name “Mount Fuji (Fujisan).” The name comes from the fact that the Yakushi Nyorai statue enshrined in the Yakushido Hall once flew from the foot of Mount Fuji. It is also known as the 9th temple of the Mino Thirty-Three Kannon Temples and the 64th temple of Mino Shikoku. It was a healing space surrounded by fresh greenery and silence.

岐阜県山県(やまがた) 市の癒し空間 新緑の円原川(えんばらがわ)の伏流水と東光寺に行ってきました。
日本一美しいと言われている円原川の伏流水と「岐阜の苔寺」東光寺です。
どちらも全国的にはあまり知られていませんが、新緑・透明な水・川の音・静寂に包まれた最高の癒し体験でした。
