It took an hour by Nishitetsu express train from Tenjin, Fukuoka City. We arrived at the last station. Today, we arrived in Omuta City, located at the southernmost tip of Fukuoka Prefecture. Omuta Station is a terminal station for JR and Nishitetsu. We walked along the road from the station. It took less than 20 minutes to walk from the station to our first destination today. Even though it was outside the zoo, there was a cat. 500 yen for adults, 1000 yen for two people. Tickets are required. There seem to be no elephants in the zoo. Let’s go in! We were the first to enter the zoo. First of all, two cute spotted seals greeted us. As soon as the humans arrived, the spotted seals performed various tricks. Their service spirit is wonderful. Omuta City Zoo has the concept of “a zoo that conveys animal welfare.” There are signs here and there throughout the zoo that are easy for visitors to see. Guinea pigs are also used in the logo of Omuta City Zoo. Let’s return to the morning event at time ①. Unfortunately, there were no rabbits on this day. We can hear a brave sound from here. It’s the king of beasts, the lion. The lion also saw the humans and approached them! (It may not be fan service, but rather a sense of caution, but) it walks back and forth in front of us like a fashion show. “Cat walk”, no, “lion walk”… Thank you, Asahi. We were able to see the red panda for just a moment. We returned to the guinea pig area. We feed them for a while. Cute. Omuta City Zoo is compact, but it was a lot of fun. On the way back. The two from earlier were taking a bath. I’ll come again. We’re back in front of Omuta Station. From here on, we’ll use car sharing. We crossed the prefectural border and are in Nagasu Town, Kumamoto Prefecture. I came here to buy “kamafeuille” (mille-feuille-style fish cake) which is popular at a department store in Kumamoto. I ate it at home later. It was delicious. This is a pizza shop located just 200m from the prefectural border. It is located in a rural area on the outskirts of Arao City. We visited this place because we heard that it is a popular restaurant where you can eat authentic wood-fired pizza. You can make a reservation by sending a DM to the store’s Instagram account with the desired date and time, the name of the representative, the number of people visiting, and the number of pizzas you want to eat. (We also made a reservation in advance using this method.) You can choose the toppings at your seat on the day. We reserved three pizzas. After some hesitation, we first ordered “Prosciutto & Baby Leaf from Kumamoto Prefecture”. It looks delicious. This is delicious… First of all, the pizza dough is chewy and fluffy and delicious. In addition, the umami and saltiness of the prosciutto are addictive. We also want to try the classic Margherita! So, for the second pizza, We chose the DaiwaFarm Margherita. It is topped with mozzarella from DaiwaFarm, a cheese factory in Kobayashi City, Miyazaki Prefecture. This pizza is also thick and chewy and delicious. The third pizza is a sweet pizza. It is the Apple Cinnamon pizza topped with vanilla ice cream. It is soft and shiny! The dough is chewy, so it should fill you up. However, the sweetness of the warm apple and the cold ice cream is so delicious that you can’t help but eat it. It is just over an hour on the highway from Hakata. Alternatively, it is a 15-minute drive from Omuta Station. If you live around Fukuoka City, please come and try it. We are back in Fukuoka Prefecture again. Omuta City is a heavy chemical industry city, so the view from the car window is typical of that. On the left side, you can see Miike Kantaku, one of the reclaimed land in the Ariake Sea. Go straight on “ARIAKE ENGAN ROAD” and pass Omuta City, Miyama City, and Yanagawa City, and you will arrive in Okawa City, one of the largest furniture production areas in Japan. “Thank you for coming to Okawa. Okawa is a furniture production area, and this is Seki Furniture.” There are many furniture specialty stores along the road! In particular, Seki Furniture, famous for “CRASH GATE” and “ATELIER MOKUBA”, has several stores near Hataho intersection. CRASH GATE also has stores in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka. However, this store in Okawa City is the main store and flagship store. Please ask the staff for permission when taking photos! (There are also many business people in the store who are visiting for business purposes.) It is much larger than CRASH GATE in Tenjin, Fukuoka City. Industrial design power strips and coffee makers are sold. There is a wide variety of interior furniture on the second floor. You will want to put it in your room. There is also an outlet sale section. “OASIS” is a brand (original to CRASH GATE) that handles ornamental plants and gardening supplies. Attached to “OASIS” is “OASIS CAFE”. You can drink coffee at this cafe surrounded by plants. It’s perfect for a break from touring the interiors. I ended up staying there for a long time. CRASH GATE Okawa Main Store has many corporate customers, but individual customers are also welcome. Why not stop by “OASIS CAFE” as well? After returning the car, I returned to Omuta Station. There is a streetcar car in the square at the west exit of the station. It is called “Train No. 204”. It seems that the inside of the car is now a cafe. It seems to be a rare car in Japan, made by a company that once existed called “Kinami Sharyo”. After seeing the preserved and exhibited cars, let’s take a train that is still in use to go home. If you’re lucky, you can ride this tourist train “SUITO”. (No special fees are required other than the fare.) We arrived at Tenjin, Fukuoka City. After having pizza for lunch, we’ll have light Japanese food for dinner. “Dashichazuke En” is a favorite restaurant of my wife’s since she lived in Tokyo. Finally, we’ll have ice cream at the MUJI Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store, which also has a community space. (I recommend the Hokkaido Milk flavor.) Thank you for watching this time as well.
