“Exploring the magic of Amakusa — a slow day filled with nature, tradition, and quiet wonder.”

☀️ Morning soak at Shimoda Onsen (下田温泉)
Started the day with a warm dip in one of Amakusa’s oldest hot springs. We stayed about 1.5 hours, just enough to relax and recharge with a local-style breakfast.

🚗 30 min drive to Kakashi-no-Sato (かかしの里)
A surreal village where over 300 scarecrows “live” quietly among the fields and homes. Spent about 40 minutes wandering through the peaceful countryside — felt like walking through a living art piece. 👀🌾

🚗 40 min drive to the “Sea Pyramid” (海のピラミッド, Yushima)
A quick ferry and we found ourselves on a tiny island known as the “Pyramid of the Sea.” Spent around 1 hour enjoying the view, the sea breeze, and local seafood stalls 🐟

🚗 50 min drive to Nagaseta Kaishoro (長谷田海床路)
Arrived just before sunset — this mystical road disappears into the ocean at high tide. We waited about 30–40 minutes to watch the water rise and swallow the path. Magical. 🌊🌅

Each stop had its own quiet rhythm — no rush, just space to breathe and take it all in.
Amakusa is not just a destination — it’s a feeling.
