Hello! This is E-Ma. It’s raining again, just like last time. We left “Aizumura” in Aizuwakamatsu City and headed south on Route 121. This is the second part of the second day of our 2-night, 3-day trip to Aizu. It’s past lunchtime and I’m hungry, so I’m going to eat now (´ー｀). “Milk Shop Restaurant” is located very close to Ashinomaki Onsen Station. It’s a long-established restaurant. I wrote my name inside the restaurant and waited for my turn. I came to see the shop opposite the restaurant. They have ramen for souvenirs, so if it’s delicious, I’ll come back later (´ー｀). It took about 20 minutes for my turn to arrive. Milk Shop Mini Set 1350 yen. You can choose between sauce cutlet bowl or stewed cutlet bowl. I chose the sauce cutlet bowl, a specialty of Aizu (*’▽’). You can also choose white or cafe au lait milk. The ramen is a mini size of Aizu ramen. It’s similar to Kitakata ramen, but it’s a little stronger in flavor. The cutlet is made with domestic pork shoulder loin and is topped with a secret recipe sauce. It’s small but still filling. The meat was soft and delicious (´ー｀). I moved my car to the station parking lot. The station has become famous for having a cat as the stationmaster, making it a popular tourist spot. The current stationmaster is the third generation, “Sakura”. The stationmaster works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays (and has some days off). The stationmaster is not allowed to take photos or videos. This was a working day, so I saw him sleeping (´ー｀). While I was looking at the goods, a group of tourists came in on a tour bus. I was surprised because I didn’t think it was a tourist spot that would be included in a tour ( ﾟДﾟ). The train is also wrapped in cats (*’▽’). Stationmaster! Please keep up the good work (*’▽’). Now, I head to Ashinomaki Onsen town, where I’m staying for the night. Ashinomaki Onsen is located along the beautiful valley of the Agagawa River. It is a hot spring resort that has been around for over a thousand years. It was difficult to get to in the past, so it has come to be known as a “phantom hot spring town.” From here, we enter Ashinomaki Onsen town. Tonight, we will stay at what is probably the most famous hotel in this hot spring town (*’▽’). We have arrived. The impressive Okawaso. I’ll explain why it’s famous later (´ー｀). It’s a very nice hotel, so I’d like to introduce the interior of the building in detail. First, let’s take a look at the room. There were yukatas in a wide variety of sizes in the elevator hall. Room 306. Let’s go in! It’s a standard pure Japanese-style room. What you can see from the window is… The Agagawa River flowing directly below. Is the rainbow in the sky a sign of hospitality? (*’▽’). There is a large public bath, but it comes with a bath. Amenities are available next to the front desk, and tabi socks are also provided (´ー｀). Let’s take a look at the facilities inside the building. The tea lounge “Tonbo no Niwa”. The shop has a wide variety of souvenirs. I was curious about rice gelato, but forgot to try it (._.). “Mochitsuki Square”? Ping-pong table and karaoke box. This is the karaoke club. Next is the large public bath. There is also a bedrock bath and special bath towels were provided. There is another bath in the building. “Kuuchu Dairotenburo (Large Open-air Bath in the Sky)”. To get to this bath, you have to go down 123 steps. There is no elevator, so it looks like it will be difficult to go back (^_^;) If you get tired, you can take a rest here. Below this is the bath. I went to the observation bath the next morning (´ー｀). Speaking of breakfast (*’▽’). This is the breakfast scene the next day. This time, I booked a one-night stay with breakfast included. It was a luxurious meal from the morning (´ー｀). There were too many dishes (^_^;). Let’s eat (´ー｀). And this is the place I wanted to show you the most about this hotel. “Floating Stage”. It has become a hot topic because it resembles the Infinity Castle that appears in the popular anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” . It is said that this hotel is the model for it. When Demon Slayer became a big hit a few years ago, it seems that it was nearly impossible to get a reservation at the hotel. Shamisen performances are held here from 4pm to 6pm. They are not held every day, so please check the hotel’s official website for performance dates. After the performance, the no-entry rope is removed and you can go on to the stage. Preparing to film.
