海の中に立つ神磯の鳥居が神々しい【大洗磯前神社】-Oarai Isosaki Shrine-

The deities Okuninushi and Sukunahikona, who are revered as gods of good fortune and medicine, are enshrined here. Pass through the large torii gate and climb up 100 stone steps After climbing the long stone steps, you will see the Suishinmon Gate. In front of the Zuishinmon Gate, there is a Bizen ware lion statue. Looking back at the 100 stone steps leading to the shrine You can see the ocean from the torii gate. The worship hall was built in 1730 by order of Tokugawa Mitsukuni, who lamented the fact that the shrine had burned down during the Sengoku period. It is a valuable building that conveys the architectural style of the Edo period to the present day. Oarai Isosaki Shrine is said to have been founded in 856 when Okuninushi-no-Mikoto and Sukunahikona-no-Mikoto descended from the earth. The rocky shore where the two gods descended is called “Kamiiso” and is a sacred place that is off-limits to the public. Every year on New Year’s Day, a priest descends to the rocks and holds a first sunrise worship ceremony. There is a shrine within the grounds of Oarai Isosaki Shrine. Ontake Shrine is located in a difficult to find location behind the shrine office. Kiyoyoshi Shrine, where Obata Yuen, the lord of Obata Castle, is enshrined. A sacred pond with a torii gate standing in the middle of it. If you get close, you can see carp swimming. Eboshiiwa Shrine enshrines the rock spirit that resides in Eboshi Rock. A powerful goshuin stamp reminiscent of the waves of Kamiiso. Oarai Isosaki Shrine is a divine shrine with a torii gate standing on the reef where the gods descended.

大洗磯前神社は、御祭神 大己貴命・少彦名命、酒列磯前神社と同じ由緒を持つ古社です。
御社殿等は戦国時代の兵乱で焼失しましたが、徳川光圀の命で社殿等の造営が始まりました。
本殿・拝殿は彫刻や建築様式が江戸初期の数少ない建造物として県の文化財に指定されています。
波間に立つ鳥居で知られており、御祭神出現地である境内下の海岸には、神磯の鳥居が建てられいます。

Oarai Isosaki Shrine is an ancient shrine with the same history as Sakatsura Isosaki Shrine, with its enshrined deities Okuninushi-no-Mikoto and Sukunahikona-no-Mikoto.
The main shrine building was burned down during the civil wars of the Sengoku period, but construction of other buildings began at the order of Tokugawa Mitsukuni.
The main shrine and worship hall are designated as prefectural cultural properties as they are rare buildings from the early Edo period whose carvings and architectural style remain.
It is known for its torii gates that stand out in the waves, and the Kamiiso torii gates can be found on the coast below the shrine grounds, where the enshrined deities are said to appear.
