Tenjin Yatai Zonchan is a yatai run by a married couple. After carrying in the prepared ingredients, tableware, and cooking utensils at the yatai’s installation site, the yatai is transported. After unloading the supplies, they park the car and head off to transport the yatai. The yatai is in perfect harmony and is on standby. This yatai, which has six gas stoves installed, may be the most of any yatai I have photographed so far . I had worked at a yatai in Nakasu for nearly 10 years, so I thought I would be able to handle it physically, but in reality, just changing the location and environment makes it difficult to work at a yatai. The distance the goods will be transported will also change, so we realized that things will be quite different from before. It was good that we opened in the spring, but I think it would have been difficult if we had opened in the middle of summer. With summer coming up, we need to get stronger. We are also preparing English menus for our overseas customers. People from overseas understand that yatai are a part of the culture of Japan and Fukuoka, so many tourists have started stopping by. In the past, most of our customers were from Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, but recently, people from various countries have started coming to Fukuoka. His wife moved to put away the handcart used to transport goods. She had also watched the video we had filmed before, and we started talking about the “Yatai Keiji” video. Yatai Keiji, which operates in an area without running water or sewage systems, is respected by many yatai owners . It is a famous Fukuoka yatai, and many people sympathize with the way he fetches water and cleans with a brush after closing, saying that it is not something that many people can do. It is a precious and happy moment for people to watch videos of him renovating his yatai himself, preparing and operating alone, and to be able to talk like this.
