⁴ᴷ Yamaguchi: Iwakuni Station (山口県: 岩国駅) – Japan Walking Tour (March, 2025)
Just like last month, I took the ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Moji Port in Kitakyushu City. From there, I crossed the Kanmon Strait back to Honshu and began my journey along the Seto Inland Sea, heading toward Tokyo.
This is Iwakuni City, located at the eastern edge of Yamaguchi Prefecture. It’s best known for Kintaikyo Bridge, considered one of Japan’s three most famous bridges. However, since the bridge is about 5 kilometers from the city’s main station, I didn’t visit it during this shoot.
This video focuses on the area around the station, including the arcade shopping street and the nightlife district. I also came across quite a few foreigners throughout the city. They may be tourists, but it’s likely related to the nearby U.S. military base. Unlike in Yokosuka, where many people wear military uniforms, most of the foreigners in Iwakuni seemed to be in civilian clothing.

何時も広島への行き来する時は岩国駅近くのヤマダ電機横にある一日５００円の有料駐車場に駐車してから電車を利用してます。
因みに昨日は、駐車場を利用せず車で広島へ行き来しました。
山口駅なのかと思ったら岩国駅だった
寂れたわいね。岩国駅前。40年前まで岩国におった時の方が10倍活気があったよ。
