【徳島】一生に一度は行きたい絶景&体験スポット8選!人気と穴場を厳選!
Hello, I’m Shie. This time, I’d like to introduce 8 recommended spots that you should definitely visit when you go to Tokushima. I hope it will be helpful when you visit. The first one is the Otsuka Museum of Art. To access it, there is a parking lot for the museum about 3 minutes by car from Naruto Kita IC on the Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway. From there, take the free shuttle bus and arrive at the main entrance in about 3 minutes. The admission fee is 3,300 yen (general) for a same-day ticket. Go up the long escalator (41m) to the B3 floor (B3 to B1 are in the mountains). First, there is the impressive Sistine Hall. This exhibition space is a representative presence of the museum, and you can experience an overwhelming sense of realism. It was also a hot topic as the place where Kenshi Yonezu, who is from Tokushima Prefecture, sang on a TV program. This is the Scrovegni Chapel. The vivid blue ceiling and gold stars are beautiful ☆. It’s also nice to sit and enjoy the view at your leisure. There is also a cafe where you can enjoy the world of Van Gogh. Go to the B2 floor. Otsuka Museum of Art is a ceramic panel museum that displays approximately 1,000 masterpieces of the world, reproduced in full size on ceramic panels. This is the Sistine Hall that we first saw. We were able to see it from a high position. What you see over there is… The Mona Lisa. Here, you can get up close and enjoy every detail! Next is The Last Supper before and after restoration. Before restoration. After restoration. Next, we saw… Girl with a Pearl Earring. It’s nice to be able to touch the paintings♪. There was a pond outside, and water lilies were blooming❤︎. Crossing the pond… There was Monet’s Large Water Lilies on display outdoors. There was also The Birth of Venus. All seven of Van Gogh’s sunflower vases are reproduced in full size on ceramic panels, and you can see them all at once. Other familiar works appear one after another and enjoy them. Munch’s Scream too! There were so many exhibits, it was very impressive! This was the Otsuka Museum of Art. The second is the Udatsu streetscape. It is about a 10-minute drive from Wakimachi IC on the Tokushima Expressway. Parking is available for free at the nearby roadside station, Island Udatsu. Historical houses from the mid-Edo period to the early Showa period are lined up over a 430m stretch. The historic houses are lined up over a 430m stretch. It is designated as a nationally important traditional buildings preservation district and has a timeless beauty. The tasteful atmosphere is the best ❤︎. The feature of this place is the Udatsu on both ends of the house. It was originally a facility to prevent fires from spreading to neighboring houses, but it eventually became a symbol of wealth and success. This is why it is said to be the origin of the idiom “Udatsu ga agaru agaranai”. Next, we will go to see a retro and cute building. It is on the other side of the river, so let’s go there. We came to Wakimachi Theater Odeon. It features a Western modern-style exterior and you can also tour the inside of the building (admission fee is 200 yen for adults). The surrounding area was rich in natural environment. It was the townscape of Udatsu. The third one is Iya no Kazurabashi Bridge. It is about 60 minutes by car from Ikawa-Ikeda IC on the Tokushima Expressway. Use the parking lot (500 yen) at the tourist facility Kazurabashi Yumebutai and walk about 5 minutes to Kazurabashi Bridge. What you can see from the bridge in front… People crossing Kazurabashi Bridge in the beautiful greenery⭐︎. You can see them slowly crossing. It is known as one of the three strange bridges in Japan and is also designated as an important tangible folk cultural property of the country. Looking directly below, the water flowing in the river is so beautiful that you will be mesmerized❤︎. Enter through a secret entrance. Let’s go cross Kazurabashi Bridge♪. The ticket booth is in sight. The admission fee is 550 yen (adult). The suspension bridge, woven using Shirakuchikazura, is about 45m long, 2m wide, and about 14m high above the water surface. It is impressive when you see it up close! The gap between the trees is wide, which is thrilling! Please give it a try, it’s fun! It was Iya no Kazura Bridge. The fourth is the Awa Odori Kaikan. It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Tokushima Station. The roof of the bench in front of the building is lovely♪. It is a facility that is a base for Tokushima tourism, with Awa Odori performances, historical exhibits, souvenir shops, and a ropeway station. The souvenir shop Ardeyo Tokushima has a wide selection of souvenirs, local specialties, and crafts! In the hall on the second floor, you can watch Awa Odori at daytime performances (4 times a day, 1,300 yen for adults) and evening performances (1 time a day, 1,600 yen for adults). The Awa Odori has begun. You can enjoy authentic dancing up close. I love the light rhythm that makes you happy just by listening♪. I went to see the Awa Odori once when I was a child, and I can’t forget the excitement I felt at that time⭐︎. The male dance is full of dynamism and strength. The female dance is graceful and very beautiful. It’s even more powerful when the rhythm speeds up! I’m so happy to be able to see the Awa Odori dance on stage like this, which I rarely get a chance to see! It was also a lot of fun to experience the Awa Odori dance together with everyone after watching it♪. This was the Awa Odori Kaikan. The fifth one is Bizan. You can take a ropeway from the fifth floor of the Awa Odori Kaikan to the top of the mountain (1,500 yen round trip for adults). It seems that two cars go together in a set. Let’s get on. Bizan is a 290m high mountain located very close to the city center, and is a symbol of Tokushima City. It was named after the shape of the mountain, which resembles eyebrows. It was also mentioned in the ancient Manyoshu. It takes about 6 minutes to ride from the base station to the summit station. Then we arrived at the observation deck. From here you can see the whole of Tokushima city. You can also see the Yoshino River, which is representative of Shikoku. I walked along that street from JR Tokushima Station. The ropeway was going up and down❤︎. Looking over the observation deck, it looked like this. Looking back in the direction I arrived, it looked like this. Looking at the other side of the observation deck, it seemed like you could also come by car. The smoking area also had an Awa Odori atmosphere♪. As I walked… I found Tsurugiyama Shrine. I was soothed by the flowers and greenery. I’m about to go down. I’ll get on the ropeway again. It’s like a little attraction, and it’s fun to ride the ropeway♪. I came down the mountain soon. It was Bizan. The sixth is Wakimachi Submerged Bridge. It is about 10 minutes by car from Wakimachi IC on the Tokushima Expressway. It is a unique bridge over the Yoshino River. When the water level rises, water flows over the bridge and the bridge is submerged in the river. I’ll try crossing from the other side. There is no railing (it’s low), so it’s a bit nerve-wracking! It’s 3.6m wide, so it’s difficult to pass a car. So if there is an oncoming car, you have to give way to each other to cross. The Yoshino River is known as one of the three most violent rivers in Japan. The bridge was washed away in 2004 and restored in 2006. The water in the river is crystal clear and very beautiful⭐︎. It is usually calm and so peaceful❤︎. It is also famous as a filming location, and the sunsets are said to be beautiful. It was the Wakimachi Submerged Bridge. The seventh is the Ooboke Gorge sightseeing boat. It is about 40 minutes by car from Ikawa Ikeda IC on the Tokushima Expressway. The boarding fee is 1,500 yen (adult). We go down towards the river. We proceed through a passage that makes us feel excited♪. We have arrived at the boarding point, we are looking forward to it! Ooboke Gorge is located in the middle reaches of the Yoshino River and is a scenic spot known for its steep valley. It is also designated as a national natural monument and a national scenic spot. While admiring the beautiful rock surface, we slowly move along the gentle flowing Yoshino River. The emerald green river is beautiful⭐︎. The rock walls spreading out before us are powerful and overwhelming! We turned around and before we knew it, the end was near. (It takes about 30 minutes (4km) round trip.) Please go and see the spectacular view that can only be experienced from a sightseeing boat! It was the Ooboke Gorge sightseeing boat. The eighth is JR Hotel Clement Tokushima. It is directly connected to JR Tokushima Station. It is also about a 1-minute walk from the express bus terminal, so it is very convenient. It is the largest city hotel in the prefecture and is an ideal base for sightseeing and business! Here is the room for this day. The room key with the hotel and Awa Odori painted on it❤︎. This room is a deluxe twin. The size is 27 to 28 m2. The price was 17,384 yen/2 people (8.692 yen/1 person) for 1 night and 2 days with breakfast. There are two beds, 120cm wide x 200cm long. Looking around the room, it looks like this. Roomwear was prepared on the bed. It was a one-piece type, and when spread out, it looked like this. Let’s take a look at the view from the window. You can see Tokushima city, and it feels open. Directly below is the bus terminal. You can also see Bizan, the symbol of Tokushima. There is a large table and chair in the room, which is very convenient. There was a chest next to it. There is a spacious sofa next to the bed. When you open the closet, there are many hangers. And there is a deodorizing spray. There was a clothes brush, shoehorn, and slippers. There was drip coffee, black tea, and sencha in the tea corner. Below that, there is a refrigerator. There is no mineral water, but there is a water server in the hotel. Let’s take a look at the bathroom. This is a unit bath. Body soap, shampoo, and conditioner were lined up at the back of the bath. Looking towards the sink, there are amenities. There was face and hand soap here. I’m glad there was a body towel. On the shell-shaped plate, there was a toothpaste set, hairbrush, razor, hair tie, cotton, and cotton swabs. The night view was really beautiful⭐︎. It was morning. Let’s go to breakfast. The venue was the restaurant on the first floor. It was a buffet style. We brought a lot of things♪. The menu was rich, including Japanese, Western, Chinese, Shikoku local cuisine, and Tokushima’s locally produced and locally consumed menu! We ate a lot, and had tea time at the end❤︎. The hotel was in a great location and had a great view⭐︎. It was a recommended hotel for a trip to Tokushima! Now, let’s check out. It was JR Hotel Clement Tokushima.
