【初心者必見】日本一周中の夫婦が事前予約なしでも楽しめる万博の周り方を紹介!

Good morning. We are a newlywed couple who are unemployed and are traveling around Japan on our honeymoon, eating lots of delicious food all over the country. Today we are in our 15th prefecture , and we are in Osaka Prefecture. It’s not so sudden, but we skipped a bit and came to Osaka. Why did we skip Kyoto and Nara and come all the way here ? Do these colors look familiar? Drum roll but no answer. Today we are going to the Osaka Kansai Expo. Our original plan was to come around October, but we thought it was the last minute , and the deadline is October 13, 2025. If we continue like this, it will be too close, so we decided to go ahead. In the summer, we will go north to Hokkaido, so we have no choice but to go at this timing, so we quickly bought tickets. It is now 6:50 p.m. I would like to make a video of a day from entering to leaving the park . We bought the tickets at the last minute, so we have not been able to reserve any pavilions . I hope you will also take a look at whether you can enjoy the Expo. So, let’s get on the train and head to the venue. I will explain how to make a reservation and how to get around on the day at the end of the video. Since we will be entering from the West Gate, we will take the shuttle bus to the West Gate. We are currently at the shuttle bus stop at Sakurajima Station. We took the 8 o’clock bus and arrived at Sakurajima Station at exactly 7 o’clock, but there are already people lined up. If you arrive at 8 o’clock and there is such a line, you will be at the back, so let’s try to arrive as early as possible. Let’s get on the bus. We have arrived at the Expo site. Let’s go. There are so many people. I can’t believe it’s a weekday. They are lined up in front of the gate. It is now 8:40. They will probably open soon, go through baggage inspection, and then enter. It’s too hot . I wonder what the temperature is (mid-May). It’s 21 degrees. Even at 21 degrees, the direct sunlight is so strong. I think it would be a good idea to bring a hat or a parasol. Today’s strategy is to go to the American Pavilion first. There is the French Pavilion next to it, so if the American Pavilion is crowded at that point, we will enter the French Pavilion. The American Pavilion is at the East Gate. I am currently at the West Gate, so I made a mistake in my choice (only the west gate was open) so I tried my best to walk, it took 13 minutes I walked and took the bus through the east gate but there were probably about five times as many people at the east gate as there were at the west gate We were pretty close to the front of the west gate The east gate was awful There was a long line at this time You can’t get to the west gate by train You have to take a bus or a taxi Be careful as the gate changes depending on how you get there Now we’re entering Let ‘s go First of all it’s the American pavilion I’m an idiot so I’m heading towards the east It seems that the wait for the American pavilion is about an hour [15 minutes to the opening and 1 hour wait] I’m off to the France Pavilion. I’m off to France. Sorry, I’m drenched in sweat. I’m not running. I walked with bigger strides than usual and I’m already soaked with sweat because I came in a skirt. So let’s have fun. I wanted to come to the France Pavilion too, so let’s enjoy this first pavilion. It’s so sparkly, it’s amazing . France’s theme is “Hymne amore” which is amazing, it’s handmade , they’re showing videos of the process of making these things, it’s full of Louis Vuitton trunks, it’s said to be 2300 years old and was brought over from France, it’s not a youthful tree, it’s a youthful tree , so I only went to film the video because the youth would get in the way. France The Louis Vuitton trunk section, which has been much talked about, was really impressive and there was a video showing how bags are made, each one by hand, which was amazing. There was a video showing the painting process, so you could see how it’s made. There was also a display that showed the process of how Dior costumes are made. The France Pavilion is open right after it opens, so you can enter without lining up, but as soon as it opens there is a huge line, so I recommend coming first thing in the morning. We were able to walk right through without any waiting time. Anyway, I ‘m hungry so I’m going to eat something. I’m hungry so I’m going to go for gourmet food. I’m hungry so I’m going to have meat at the Australia Pavilion. I bought a pie. Speaking of Australia, it’s Aussie beef. Let’s eat. It’s delicious . The inside is soft and creamy. It’s really good. First of all, the pie is really delicious. The texture of the pie is thick and I wonder if the pie is seasoned. The wheat flavor is quite strong. The inside is filled with a soft filling and it ‘s really delicious. It soaks into your body. You can eat food from various countries, so let’s go around while having this in between. We’ll also eat a lot of other things. This is Australia. We lined up in Australia without a reservation, but we were able to get in in about 10 minutes. It was surprisingly empty. It’s amazing. Apparently there are six types of creatures. There are a lot of them. There were some that looked like parrots and koalas. They’re cute . Apparently Australia has a lot of history with its indigenous people. There is a carving on this tree, and it seems to be a trace of it having been used by the indigenous people in rituals or something. It ‘s amazing, it’s so realistic, it’s faithfully reproduced, it’s so realistic , the feeling of the wind and the trees swaying is so realistic, the wind is blowing inside the room, the Australian nature is so beautiful on the big screen, I couldn’t help but stare at it, Australia was great, the scenery in the video was so beautiful, the first forest was also beautiful and a soothing space, the video after that was so beautiful I was mesmerized , I’m going to Australia now, it makes me want to go abroad, it was really good, we entered quickly and the rotation was good so I recommend it, including queuing, the total stay time was about 20 minutes, it was really good, now let’s go to the next pavilion, Thailand Pavilion, watching a video of Thailand set to music While watching… Let’s all clap and sing togetherThe sudden interactive video was beautiful and it was fun to sing alongI heard you can cook in Thailand so I’ll give it a tryIt seems you choose a dish, choose the ingredients and give it a name and it will be reflected hereLet’s make a stir fryIt looks deliciousI’ll make something similar to GapaoI can choose meat or fishBeefI think there are so manyHmm, garlic is the bestchoiceMen’s foodI’ve made something that looks deliciousOkay so let’s name it Hiyoma GaiLet’s go with Hiyoma GaiThis is Hiyoma GaiWhat is thisI made Hiyoma Gai and I’m hungry! This is Roti Pukata Sugar from the Singapore PavilionIt was like you could enjoy it like a snackLet ‘s eat, um, um! It’s deliciousThe outside is super crispyAnd as it goes towards the inside it gets chewyThere’s a lot of sugar in it, or rather it’s sprinkled on topIt’s deliciousIt ‘s almost like a pie, or is it more like a pie? Delicious I’m going to eat food from various countries from here Fish & hand cut chips It’s fish & chips It came with tartar sauce so let’s eat it with that There is takeout and restaurant The restaurant had a 2 hour wait By the way, I was told that I would have to wait 40 minutes for takeout, but it was only 10 minutes Let’s eat It’s stretched It’s delicious It’s super delicious The batter is crispy and the white fish inside is very fluffy It ‘s delicious And then there are the potatoes Shun loves them I mean potatoes That’s what I mean It’s not good at all Let’s eat How do you like them? I love them. Thick and full of potatoes The quality of the rice is too high Let’s eat Let’s eat This is difficult Crispy I’ll eat too It’s super delicious Isn’t the tartar sauce good too? The balance of everything is perfect The batter is crispy and light Speaking of England, it’s fisher & chips It’s my first time eating it I love it Yes . This is Hiyori’s corner for shopping in English I came to Kuwait but I’m having trouble because there is only an English menu This food is expensive If I order it, it’s crazy Should I get a croissant? It’s mostly meYou didn’t say much eitherAh! Pay up! I’m my wife’s walletWhat ‘s that pictureI bought itIt was just barely600 yenIt’s 650 yenI’m shockedI can’t believe it’s 650 yenThis has made me numbIt ‘s a chocolate croissantIt’s like a chocolate pieI’ve only had pieSo let’s eatYes it ‘s deliciousIs it a refined chocolate? It’s very refinedThe chocolate is really deliciousI think they use really good chocolateIt ‘s sweet and deliciousI couldn’t understand Japanese at allIt feels like I’m overseasThe menu was only in EnglishI was surprisedI have no idea what it saysIt’s deliciousNow , this is a sandwich from the France PavilionI ordered mozzarella basilIt’s the bestIt’s amazingIt has basil chicken, mozzarella and tomatoAs you would expect from France, it’s on French breadLet ‘s eat ! ? Delicious Tomatoes and basil are really good I like the bread Hard bread It smells of fluffy cheese It was worth waiting in line There was a line for this bread separate from the normal exhibits It was amazing It was popular Yes, it’s here again It’s 3pm now I want to go to the only pavilion I was able to reserve for today Starting at 3pm Let’s go to the Future Museum of Life It’s like you enter with a machine The sound for each exhibit is automatically played through the earphones You can see a life where androids and humans coexist in “50 years in the future” In the future, androids may take over memories and do TV shows…? So I went to the Future Museum of Life, but what was that? It was mainly a story about the future 50 years from now Androids are given memories [and diseases are found in their bodies] If things continue as they are now, they will have a normal lifespan [some people are living as androids] In the future, androids will have their own memories [some people are living as androids] Even after you are gone, your family [struggle over whether to pass on your memories to androids] Androids will watch over you. It’s going to be an amazing future, what else? Movements? Even in the present day, the movements of the android robots are so realistic and synchronized . Matsuko Deluxe is amazing. She’s still working 50 years from now, and although she’s not the real her, she has a will, so she can continue to work as if she were the real her , and even in her current appearance it was really interesting. It was a very interesting and worthwhile exhibition, and it gave me hope. It was an exhibition that made me think about the future . Anyway , this was the only pavilion I had booked for today, so I’d like to fill my time to explore the other pavilions and take some videos after this . I was able to make a same-day reservation for the Netherlands Pavilion for one person, so I’ll go my own way. In particular, Hiyori will apparently be taking this orb to the Dutch Pavilion. The Netherlands has a history of frequent floods, but they still chose to live with water. You can learn about the Dutch way of thinking. The pavilion is filled with the Dutch way of thinking, of living with consideration for the Earth. As for my husband, he watched traditional folk music at the Hungarian Pavilion . The performance was also really good. Hiyori had made a reservation on the day and gone to the Dutch Pavilion by herself, so she bought me a waffle as a souvenir. Thank you for your help. It’s moist and delicious ! What is this thin waffle? It ‘s really good. It’s not the kind of waffle you know. It’s sandwiched with caramel. Shun -kun likes caramel. I bought this because I thought she would definitely like it. It was so delicious. While Hiyori went to the Dutch Pavilion, I went to the souvenir shop in the French Pavilion, but they said that I could only use that credit card . They only had PayPay and Suica, so I couldn’t buy the postcard. It was a shock because it was really good. Things like that happen, so you should bring a credit card with you. I was able to go to other shops with PayPay and Suica. While Hiyori went to the Dutch Pavilion, I went to the Hungarian Pavilion by myself, and it was really good. How was it? There was a woman singing and dancing something like a traditional Hungarian dance by herself, and I just watched it, but it was really good. How did you like the Dutch Pavilion? We each held an orb and it changed color, so it was fun and interactive, and we went into a theater-like place and sat down one by one. Everyone sat down and had chairs that you could lean your head against, and there were orbs in the video too. It came out and it felt like we were holding it together, and at the end we went into the ring. At first it was a normal orb, but as more and more people gathered it felt like we were in heaven and earth and we all joined together. It felt like a hands-on experience that seemed to be a message from the Netherlands. We were all happy . But the main reason I wanted to go to the Netherlands was because I could buy Miffy-chan goods holding an orb. I went because I wanted that, but they did n’t have any left. It was so popular that it was sold out. I wanted a Tamagotchi collaboration stuffed animal, but they didn’t have that either. They didn’t restock until after July, so I gave up and couldn’t buy any of the goods I wanted . I’m coming down from Hokkaido in October, so let’s go again then. Revenge Expo. At the end of the Expo, I came to the Kuwait Pavilion. We tried a dance that taught us the history of Kuwait through video. It was awkward. Now the performance was awkward . It was good . At the end, you said you didn’t learn it. What are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing ? You can see the scenery of Kuwait . It’s so beautiful . Can you get the idea out? When you move it, it changes like this. You have to do that movement. It’s interesting. A woman is so cool. I heard there’s a slide, so let’s go. I heard that the Kuwait Pavilion is pretty popular. It’s certainly interesting. There are lots of experiences, and it’s fun. I’m going now . Isn’t it quick? It was so much fun. The angle is too steep. Finally, I came to have dessert. I ordered a special at a gelato shop in a place called the Play Pavilion. What is a special? What is this? I don’t know either. It said that you can enjoy the taste after eating it, so you won’t know until you try it. I’ll have the blue one. What flavor? Seriously, what flavor? I’ll have a quick taste and see what it tastes like? It ‘s delicious, but the red one comes along. It’s berry-like. The blue one is a mystery. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me in the comments. It’s mysterious. This is the end of this Expo. After this, I will return on the same route as in the morning. I think I’ll take the bus from the West Gate to Sakurajima Station and go home from Sakurajima Station. I can get a bus to Sakurajima Station just in time, so don’t worry, everyone. I can get a bus to Sakurajima Station, so don’t worry. I can’t get on the way back unless I book it in advance, but I’m sorry, it was closing time so I had to leave suddenly. That ‘s all for today’s video. If you like this video, please subscribe to the channel and give it a high rating. I’m also on Instagram and X, so please follow me. I’ll post information on how to make a reservation and how to get around on the day as a bonus later, so please take a look at those too. See you next time! Bye-bye Osaka edition will continue. Thank you for watching! Videos are updated every Tuesday and Saturday! I’ll explain the details later! I went to the Expo and it was fun. I’m so tired that I’m now in another prefecture in about a week , but I haven’t explained the process properly, so from how to get the tickets to how to leave the park, reservations are difficult, so I’ll briefly explain how we went. So, the day we went to the Expo was May 15th . We got our tickets on May 5th. First of all, at this point, it seemed like the time slots for tickets were limited. To get tickets, you don’t just buy them randomly online, there is a West Gate and an East Gate, and within those, the entry times are set. They are set every hour, the earliest is 9am, then every hour after that, 12pm, then 5pm, and from there you can choose the gate and time to go. Within those, the congestion status is written, and there is a ○△× that means you can’t get in, or it’s crowded, or you can get in, and you can only get ○ or △. We got the 9am West Gate, but that wasn’t available at first, and when I looked online on the 5th for the 9am slot, there were no tickets available, so I was thinking of giving up, but I waited for a cancellation for just under an hour, and then by chance, two people had canceled and we were able to get a ticket for the 9am West Gate, so I went there. We managed to get tickets for the 9 o’clock West Gate. If you’re like us and you get it at the last minute, it might open if you’re patient. There are East and West Gates, and each has its own characteristics. The East Gate is wide and close to the station. You can get there quickly from the nearest station , but it gets really crowded. People going by train, on foot, or by bicycle can only get through the East Gate. For the West Gate, you can only get there by taxi, shuttle bus, or boat . The way to get there is completely different depending on the means of transportation, so you need to do your research . In the end, if you want to get to the venue by train, go to the East, and if you want to get there by other means, go to the West Gate. The West Gate is less crowded. The shuttle bus for the West Gate only starts at 8:00, so before that you can only get by taxi, so it wasn’t very crowded at that time, so I thought the West would be relatively empty. We were able to get admission tickets, but as I mentioned earlier, we were at the West Gate, so we had to think about how to get there, so we tried to book a shuttle bus from Sakurajima Station. After getting our tickets, we went to the shuttle bus reservation website, but there were no more spaces available. We waited for cancellations here again for about an hour, and somehow managed to get two tickets. So in the end, don’t give up just because you don’t have tickets at either gate, but try to stick around for about an hour and you might be able to get one. When we tried to get tickets, it was harder to get tickets at the East Gate, but it was much easier at the West Gate . If you can get a shuttle bus, it’s much easier to get there, so at this stage I think the West gate is recommended. Sorry, they’ve started mowing the lawn so it might be hard to hear, so we moved on. I think I got up to the point where we got the bus tickets. We got the bus tickets. That completes the preparations, but we can go in anyway. That’s all for now, and from there, advance reservations for the pavilions begin. Sorry, I’ll be talking while looking at my smartphone. Advance reservations for the pavilions are drawn by lottery two months in advance, and you can apply from three months to two months before your visit. We By the time you get your tickets, this lottery is already over. The next lottery is the 7-day lottery, which runs from one month before to 8 days before the reservation. You can apply up to 7 days before the reservation, but you can still apply. We made it in time, so we applied for two popular places, the Pavilion Osaka Healthcare and the Italian Pavilion, but we didn’t win the lottery. You can apply for up to 5 choices, but all of them were rejected. The next lottery is the first-come, first-served reservation for available slots. You can apply from 3 days before your visit date until 9am the day before. If there are any available slots in all the previous lotteries, you can apply on a first-come, first-served basis. We turned on our computers as the date changed, so we waited, but when we tried to enter 30 minutes before, we couldn’t get in.At that point, there were probably 20,000 people waiting, and it said how many people were waiting, but there were 20,000 people waiting. The scheduled time to enter the site However, it was around 12:40, so it was almost impossible to get in, so we waited and went in, but there were almost no spaces left , and the popular ones were already out of the question. In the end, we couldn’t get a spot there either , and ended up heading there without a reservation in advance on the day. On the 15th, on the day itself, we had booked a shuttle bus from Sakurajima, but since we had a car, we parked our car in the parking lot at Ajigawaguchi Station, walked 30 minutes to the station, and then headed to Sakurajima Station from there. That’s how we got there on the day. The reason we booked the parking lot there is actually a parking lot at the Expo, but it requires a reservation and costs 5,000 yen. Since we didn’t have money, we booked a 300 yen parking lot two stations away from Sakurajima, a 30-minute walk from Ajigawaguchi, and since it was cheap, we parked there, walked 30 minutes to the station, and arrived in two stations. What were we really doing? We walked quite a bit , but we saved 4,700 yen. We booked the shuttle bus for the 8 o’clock hour, so we headed to Sakurajima Station at 7 o’clock, an hour before. When we arrived at Sakurajima Station, we lined up for the shuttle bus and got on the first bus at 8 o’clock, and headed to the West Gate of the Expo site. The shuttle bus runs every 5 minutes, and there are 6 buses that run at the same time, and they move forward every 5 minutes, so we were able to get on the first of the 6. We arrived at Sakurajima Station an hour before and were just about able to get on the first one, but if you get 30 minutes before, the queue gets bigger and bigger, and people who came at exactly 8 o’clock or 10 minutes before because it was 8 o’clock were already at the back and it didn’t seem like we could get on right away, so if you want to get in early, I think it’s better to go an hour before, and even then there were a lot of people in front of you, so you should give yourself plenty of time. We arrived at the West Gate of the Expo site and entered at 9:00, so we lined up until then, but we were pretty close to the front. We were able to get in at 9:10 . Sorry
, another sudden change in angle . We entered at 9:10. 10 minutes after entering the park, you can make same-day reservations from your smartphone. I tried to make a same-day reservation on my smartphone, but as expected, everyone was holding onto it, so it was hard to get a ticket. I thought it would be a triangle, but in the end, we lost by a hair’s breadth. In the end, we kept trying and we were only able to make one reservation for two people. What I thought was that you can make reservations for two tickets at the same time, but for popular pavilions, even if there is a cancellation and there is only one spot available, so when you try to apply for tickets for two people, it says that there are no tickets available, and you can’t participate anymore. When I showed you the video, Hiyori said I went to the Netherlands Pavilion by myself, but I thought I couldn’t get one more ticket, so I stuck around at the Netherlands Pavilion and somehow managed to get it. I kept trying and trying and finally managed to get it. If there’s something you really want to get into, it’s a good idea to give up going with someone else and just get it by yourself. There is a same-day registration center at the venue, so I thought I could do it there, but there was a really long line . If you make a reservation for one thing on the day, you can’t make another reservation until the reservation time comes and you experience the pavilion. If you think a reservation is available on the day and make it at night, you can’t make a reservation on the day until that time , so you need to consider your schedule when making a reservation. Also, in terms of how to get around the park, I think it’s best to go to the popular pavilions first thing in the morning, like we did, and go to America or France. Also, there are quite a lot of lines for food, so I think it’s a good idea to have a restaurant in mind beforehand. I feel like I wasted a lot of time going back and forth, and I got pretty tired from all the walking. So it’s important to have a restaurant in mind, and there are restaurants that you can’t get into unless you try them out. There are pavilions that normally have a really long line, but there are restaurants that are open and you can go in. It varies depending on the location, so I think it’s best to have an eye on those things and check them out beforehand. I recommend having an eye on the locations of the restaurants and the pavilions. You aren’t given a map , but they sell them for 200 yen, but if you do buy one, I recommend copying the map yourself from the PDF on the website. We copied it onto A4 paper and took it with us, but it was too detailed and we couldn’t understand it at all. I recommend bringing at least A3 size documents. There were quite a few people using markers and such. Everyone had done a lot of advance preparation. I thought there was a little more they could have done in advance, so I hope this will be of some help to people who are going in the future. It was easy to get a return bus on the spot, so I bought a ticket online for the 9 o’clock bus and went back to Sakurajima from the West Gate. That’s about it. You don’t need to make a reservation for the bus, but the lines are completely different for people with and without reservations, so people with reservations were able to get in right away, and I think you really can’t get one 5 minutes before. If you want to go back in the 9 o’clock hour, I recommend getting your ticket by 8 o’clock. If you do that, you can get a reservation and get on the bus pretty easily. That’s it. This is getting a bit long, but Even if you buy your tickets 10 days before, you can still go around and enter the venue, so I had a great time. The earlier you do your research, the more you can prepare, so I hope this was helpful. I hope it was helpful, even if just a little. Everyone, enjoy the Expo!
