Photo taken on May 23, 2024 Located in Oda City, Shimane Prefecture, this hot spring town has been bustling as a silver shipping port since mining at Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine began in the Muromachi period. Buildings from the Edo, Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods line the streets, and the area is designated an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
