日本人はもう泊まれない!? 夢の温泉地「銀山温泉」が心配です…

Ginzan Onsen Ryokan Fujiya I am currently in Yamagata This time, I actually came to Yamagata, and it’s a commemorative trip for me to conquer all 47 prefectures of Japan Among such travels, the place I will visit this time is Ginzan Onsen, which I’ve been curious about for a long time I will be staying at a ryokan called Fujiya located in Ginzan Onsen The building you see right in front of you is JR Yamagata Station There are also tall buildings further back, giving off the impression of being the central station of a prefectural capital In Yamagata, it’s definitely more convenient to have a car when traveling, so I’m going to rent a car and head to Ginzan Onsen I will rent a car and head to Ginzan Onsen It takes about an hour by car from Yamagata City to Ginzan Onsen If you are coming from Yamagata Airport, it is a bit closer to Ginzan Onsen, taking about 45 minutes If you don’t rent a car, there are buses from Yamagata Station or Yamagata Airport to Ginzan Onsen, so it would be good to use those I think the charter taxi called ‘Delicious Yamagata Airport Sightseeing Liner’ is highly convenient, so while it is more expensive than the bus, it is available as an option I just got off at the Obanazawa Interchange in Obanazawa City, where Ginzan Onsen is located This time I headed towards winter, but if you plan to go after the evening during the busy winter season, you will need to reserve a shuttle bus A shuttle bus departs from a place called Taisho Roman-kan, which has free parking near the hot spring town There are no parking lots for tourists in the hot spring town, so you need to use some form of transportation, such as a rental car, bus, or taxi, to get to the Taisho Roman Hall I have arrived It’s a stay Do you have a reservation? What is the name of the inn? Let me explain about Fujiya Is it okay to go straight ahead? Please, go ahead thank you What you see on the right after passing through the Taisho Roman Hall is the shop that made the Kokeshi used in the NHK serial drama ‘Oshin’ This time, since I have a reservation for accommodation, I was able to enter the parking lot reserved for guests right before the hot spring town I will use the shuttle service from the parking lot here to the inn The inn is very popular, and it was quite difficult to make a reservation I was able to make a reservation because a cancellation came up That’s right, thank you I received an email about the waitlist for Ikkyu Since cars cannot enter the hot spring town, we will park here and walk from here It takes about 2 to 3 minutes on foot, so I’ll carry your luggage This is the entrance, so the shuttle buses and cars from the hot spring town can only come this far You can see the inn over there The building right in front of us where we will stay today is the Fujiya Ryokan We will cross this bridge to get to the other side It’s still just past 12:30 PM, so we can’t check in yet. I think I’ll take a little stroll around the hot spring town until it’s time to check in This ryokan is relatively new compared to other buildings in the Ginzan Onsen ryokan district, as it has been renovated It’s a recent building with a wooden design, and it was designed by Kengo Kuma It seems that the view from this bridge right in front of Fujiya is said to be very beautiful It feels like this The scenes that you often see in guidebooks and on social media are unfolding right in front of me It’s lunchtime now, and there aren’t really that many people, which is surprisingly unexpected I heard that the Ginga Onsen here is now in a terrible situation due to overtourism The highlight is definitely the time after evening when the gas lamps above are lit I’ve heard that during that time, it really gets incredibly crowded If you stay overnight and come early, you can enjoy the Ginzansōen without the crowds, so this is great I think there are hardly any people during lunchtime or early morning, so I want to fully enjoy this scenery Around there, as far as I can see now, there are people in the foot baths; there are foot baths like this on that bridge This ryokan, Fujiya, has the best location There is a stunning view spot right in front, and this foot bath seems easy to access It feels just right when you touch it I heard the source temperature is around 60 degrees, but since only a little is coming out, it feels pleasantly warm even if I keep my hand in Indeed, winter hot springs are soothing By the way, they mentioned that the bridges here are owned by each of the inns I think Fujiya is a relatively high-priced accommodation among these The bridge has a rich design that seems to extend with wooden materials The size of the hot spring town itself isn’t that large I had the impression that you could make a complete round in just 5 minutes from one end to the other Since the capacity isn’t that large, I think it has become over-tourism Among them, the famous one is this ryokan called Noto-ya, I suppose I think there are several places across Japan that are said to have inspired Spirited Away In my videos, the Sekizenkan in Gunma that I visited before is also said to be a model for Spirited Away, and it has that Taisho Roman atmosphere typical of Studio Ghibli In particular, the presence of this vermilion bridge evokes that kind of ambiance As far as I can see, this vermilion color is relatively beautiful, so it has been well maintained The gas lamps in the evening and the snowy landscape are certainly beautiful, aren’t they? The river flowing right in front of me is even more beautiful than I imagined As the name suggests, there is a river called Ginzan River flowing here The pleasant sound of the river coming from this just-right elevation enhances the atmosphere of this hot spring town I have walked quite far in, and it seems there is a waterfall ahead I wonder if I can go see the waterfall there even in winter I’ll give it a try Even after walking to the back, there were still many commercial facilities This is a place called Yukemuri Shokudo Shirogane I’ve seen this before too You can enjoy Yamagata beef dishes like this This place is also recommended for those who want to eat meat It is currently break time The inn extends quite far back When I looked down, it was quite a sight Of course, I’m wearing these rubber boots this time, so I’m totally fine The water is flowing like this, almost like a river This area is a heavy snowfall zone, so when the snow piles up, people can’t walk As you can see in the back on the right, there’s a lot of water or hot water flowing, but it’s hard to tell which it is It’s a snow country When you get to the back, there is a fence right in front of you However, foreign visitors are all climbing over the fence to see the waterfall in the back There’s nothing wrong with that, not at all Right now, it’s not in a state where it’s snowing heavily and impossible to walk, so this area is at your own risk Further in, the area we were just in is the hot spring town, but just past this entrance on the near side, there is a public bath called Shirogane no Yu Looking inside, it seems that one adult can enter for 580 yen Photography is prohibited, so I can’t take any pictures inside There are hardly any people when you come this way Isn’t this a nice view in its own way? What is in the middle of the river in front of me? The snow hasn’t melted at all because there is grass and stones here It is said that only the areas where the skin flows beautifully on both sides have melted snow I saw another mysterious sight This area has deeper snow, making the snow itself more impressive I would like to take a little more time to explore the hot spring town, but it’s getting late, so I will have lunch now What is in front of me is a soba restaurant I was a bit intimidated by how crowded it was, but it seems fine for lunch like this I think it’s also because it’s almost 1 o’clock, but it looks like we can get in without waiting I thought there were about three groups of people waiting inside, but I was able to get in after about five minutes What I ordered is this fried eggplant soba I looked it up on Google, and it had a very high rating of 4.3, so it’s a popular restaurant in Ginzan Onsen It was written that it was Obanazawa-san’s rice Fortunately, I was guided to a seat by the window, so I’ll enjoy it while looking at the Ginzan River like this There are also people relaxing in the foot bath I will enjoy it with grated daikon radish This is 100% buckwheat soba Rather than having a rough texture and a smooth throat feel, the soba cuts cleanly and the flavor of the buckwheat flour spreads out nicely The rich flavor of the soba comes from this grated daikon and perilla leaves, but it has been crafted into a refreshing taste The eggplant is big The eggplant is really delicious This has a strong sweetness It’s a luxurious soba with a fragrant aroma and exquisite vegetables Yesterday, I went to a famous restaurant known for its Yonezawa beef sukiyaki The broth for that sukiyaki was relatively rich, with a strong flavor from miso and other seasonings The soba has a rich flavor, leaning more towards 100% buckwheat The flavor of the broth is not so much refreshing as it is robust and rich, and it seems to expand with the various ingredients unique to each person I think the seasoning in the Tohoku region is a bit stronger than in Kyushu it’s the Tsuyahime from Obanazawa This also has sesame and wild vegetables on top It’s delicious The rice is really good The delicious rice, the crunchy mountain vegetables, and the savory aroma make this really tasty And since we could also order dessert, I decided to try this soba soft serve It’s a bit less sweet than regular soft serve, and you can also catch a hint of soba flavor, giving it a somewhat refined feel Is there roasted sesame in it? It has a bit of a roasted flavor and is really delicious This is a sophisticated soft serve ice cream for adults There are a few Japanese people here and there, but overwhelmingly, there are many foreign tourists I think the atmosphere inside the store conveys it well It’s not that noisy or anything like that; there are relatively calm people here, but surprisingly, I think it will get crazy at night I’m a little excited to see what kind of atmosphere it will have This is the view I was looking at when I arrived a little while ago We have arrived at the entrance of the hot spring town It’s a wonderful sight no matter how many times I see it This snowy landscape and the buildings overflowing with Taisho Roman charm And the scenery of the flowing river is beautiful in every way To briefly mention the history of Ginzan Onsen, the origin of this hot spring, as the name suggests, is that silver was discovered in the mountains here, and it developed into a mine during the Edo period However, by the late Edo period in the late 17th century, the silver was depleted, and its role as a mine came to an end After the silver mine closed, it is said that a hot spring was discovered This time, it was utilized as a hot spring resort, becoming a place of relaxation for local residents and travelers However, there was a period when the Ginzan River flooded, and the hot spring also dried up It seems there were some difficult times After that, the hot springs were rediscovered, and many wooden ryokans ranging from three to four stories were built in front of them from the Taisho to early Showa periods Even now, those ryokans are lined up, creating a scene that feels like stepping back in time In recent years, it has gained recognition since it became the filming location for NHK’s serial drama ‘Oshin’ in 1980 There were also periods of slight decline due to the impact of events like the Great East Japan Earthquake Since around 2016, the development of social media has made it known to people overseas as well It has now become one of the most popular hot spring towns in Japan, attracting many visitors every day And since there is a famous tofu shop near the entrance, let’s take the opportunity to try it I was just taking a break, and it has just opened now It’s a place called Nokawa Tofu Shop I’m debating whether to go with fried tofu or yudofu Since it’s a project, I ordered one serving of raw fried tofu and one serving of fried tofu I’m alone, but I think I can easily finish this much I was thinking of enjoying it in this foot bath right in front of the shop, but more people have come, so I can’t get in right now I’m wondering where to eat By the way, the hot spring here that is emitting heat is what they referred to as the source spring Since it’s a carefully selected spring, I guess it’s a bit hot I feel like the steam is significantly stronger here than in other places It’s hot If you keep it on, you’ll get burned It’s definitely a carefully selected item A tremendous smell of sulfur is emanating from here Let’s soak our feet in the foot bath, slowly warm them up while enjoying the view behind us, and eat some tofu Fresh tofu is fluffy, creamy, warm, and delicious The dashi is well-balanced, providing a nice accent It’s fried tofu Fried tofu is really delicious The outside is crispy and the inside has raw tofu that has absorbed the flavor of the sake, and the broth has also soaked into it This is great because you can enjoy the texture as well Fried tofu might be delicious This is the best I think it’s almost 3 o’clock now It doesn’t feel that crowded up to this point That said, it has increased compared to around 1 o’clock earlier If you’re going to come to Ginzans, it’s definitely better to stay overnight and take your time to explore I thought that just looking at the evening scenery before heading home might be quite unsettling A line has formed without me noticing. I was lucky with the timing; there was no wait at all There is a confectionery shop called Meiyu An on the right side of the Shirogane Bridge at the entrance of Ginzan Onsen It mentions things like silver mine buns above, this is the famous one here, the curry bread from Haikara-san You can see people eating this in quite a few other videos, right? So when you go inside, this is what you find: fried buns, which are a popular product There are silver mine buns and also curry bread in the back I wonder which one I should choose The fried buns also look delicious I will enjoy some fried dumplings while gazing at the beautiful scenery It’s a homemade one from that shop over there, but it’s not warm The dough is very crispy Inside, it’s packed with filling like this It seems like there’s red bean paste in this donut, but not really I might surprisingly have never eaten this before It’s delicious My mouth is getting a bit dry I want to drink tea or coffee To the inn I would like to check in It’s Fujiya on the right It seems that the number of people has indeed increased compared to when I first came here From now on, it will continue to get more lively Ginzansou Onsen Ryokan Fujiya was established during the Taisho era We have walked alongside the vibrant history of this land In 2006, it underwent a major renovation and was reborn as a unique inn where modern design blends with traditional Japanese aesthetics, crafted by architect Kengo Kuma You can enjoy the seasonal hot springs of Ginsan in five private baths At night, the gas lamps light up, creating a special place where you can enjoy a timeless beauty alongside the streets that retain the essence of Taisho Roman Upon entering the lobby, it becomes slightly dim, and the scent of wood combined with soft lighting provides a calming sense of tranquility It feels like a space woven together by the warmth of wood and a refined, simple design Among the many buildings in Kanayama Onsen that resemble traditional Japanese inns, this one stands out a bit First, we will check in here Is there anything in particular that is local or special? Please give me coffee This is a daifuku made with ancient rice, filled with sweet edamame paste, served as a tea snack I will complete the check-in and go to the guest room This guest room is on the second floor Please take the elevator to the second floor You can tell that the interior of this hallway also has that warm wooden feel characteristic of Kengo Kuma The traditional Japanese aesthetic and modern sensibility blend together to create a comfort that feels as if it is one with nature The ryokan Fujiya, where we will be staying this time, has three simple types of guest rooms: Type A, Type B, and Type C This time, we are in Type C, which is the most reasonably priced It seems that among these, only Type A has a bathtub and shower included This is the entrance to the guest room where we will be staying Now, let’s go into the room The key is relatively simple and looks like this The door is amazing It feels like, how do you even open it? You can open it like this from next to this key First, there’s the entrance, and right in front of it is the washbasin, and there is a mirror First, let’s go to the left here It rises slightly, and from here it becomes a tatami space It was the same from the entrance to the hallway, but even inside the room, there is a simple design that creates an atmosphere rich in indirect lighting and the warmth of wood It is a simple yet sophisticated space that feels warm and inviting There is a large wooden table in the center And the TV on the right is just placed cutely like this It’s common in high-end ryokans to suggest that it’s better to hide the television for the sake of an extraordinary experience Placing a small one is a first for me, but I wonder how it will turn out There are people, especially the elderly, who want to watch TV And should we say that the back is a space with a wide corridor? This area has wooden flooring and there are chairs that look comfortable to sit on And since it’s a cold area, there is also a heater placed in the back on the right side There is a hidden air conditioner in the upper right, although it’s hard to see The design makes it so that the presence of the air conditioner is not noticeable at all unless you look closely You can see the scenery on the other side of the window This can be opened normally, probably without any special key Since there is a fence, there is no worry about someone entering from outside It’s a screen door Huh? Can’t you open this? It won’t open, will it? It’s hard It’s just frozen with snow, but there’s no snow here How about on your side? This has opened up I’m glad You can enjoy the view like this through the gaps in the fence, and even if you’re not between them, you can still see the whole scenery like this Right in front of me is the foot bath space I was just looking at, and there are people soaking in it slowly, I wonder, I think it would be better to be able to gaze at the snowy scenery of the river in front of me I feel like it would be better if this weren’t a fence The roof below also looks a bit cheap Personally, I honestly wonder why this happened If the snow piled up, it would create a snowy landscape below, but doesn’t it seem a bit cheap? I’m sorry, but since the unit price is a bit high, I have a critical perspective With so many people walking around, it might be designed with privacy in mind This place doesn’t have curtains, so it’s here Right between the banquet and the tatami space over there, this keeps the privacy intact And this side will also become like a wooden lattice I can’t tell at all where the door is It has a unified structure It’s more like it doesn’t give off a sense of everyday life This is where the door is You can open it like this there are probably hot spring goods inside This is a set of a mini towel, socks, and a yukata There is also an air conditioning switch above The top doesn’t contain anything in particular This is the refrigerator The water inside the refrigerator is free, but beer and soft drinks are charged This cider after the bath is the one I bought from the soba shop earlier I have a basket in my right hand for taking to the hot springs This is an incredibly large basket, and it seems very convenient. It’s the best one I’ve had among all the places I’ve stayed There is also a yukata jacket When you come back to this side and look at the sink area, you’ll find hand soap and various amenities like tissues here There’s a comb, a razor, cotton swabs, toothpaste, and this is a body towel In the back, there’s a tea set arranged like this This means that it is placed in a position that is easy to reach from the tatami on the other side I have a cup and an electric kettle in my right hand There is also a bonsai placed here When it comes to eye-catching art, this bonsai might be it Conversely, the rest of the art in this room is designed by Kengo Kuma There is a door under this sink When you open this, you’ll find bath towels inside, which means you can take them to the private bath There is a Panasonic hair dryer below Next to that, they have also provided a blanket since it is cold There is a towel rack, though There is no bath or shower in the room It feels like you can use the private bath whenever it’s available There is a toilet here I will stay here for one night today I can definitely feel that this building was designed by Kengo Kuma I’m really looking forward to the hot springs and the food afterwards At this ryokan, you can stay in a room for two people with two meals included starting from around 30,000 yen per person This time, I am staying for just a little over 40,000 yen Ginzanspa is currently quite popular, so it’s difficult to make a reservation I checked just now, and it’s completely booked with reservations from this month to the next and the month after that Thanks to registering for the ikkyu waiting list system, I get an email when a vacancy opens up I was able to make a reservation because I booked it as soon as the email arrived It seems that even if a vacancy opens up within a day, it gets filled immediately I think this is not just the case for this inn, but probably the same for all the other inns in Ginzan Onsen as well Making a reservation is really difficult I think this winter season is particularly the busiest time of the year Personally, I honestly wanted to stay at a traditional ryokan that exudes the Taisho Roman atmosphere when I came to Ginzan Onsen, but I believe that’s a matter of personal preference The waiting system for Ikkyu’s vacancies is really convenient, and thanks to that, I was able to make a reservation here I think other accommodations require you to make phone calls and especially lack an email notification system, so you need to check every day to confirm if you can make a reservation Everyone, please do your best in that regard I believe that after this, we will be able to see a wonderful view at night, The fact that there are so many people here means that it must be worth coming for that reason We still have some time until the evening when the gas lamps are lit, so let’s go enjoy the hot springs There are actually 5 types of private baths I just came up to the 3rd floor, and there is 1 type on the 3rd floor and 4 types on the 1st floor First, I’ll try this private bath on the 3rd floor It seems that you can enter here anytime, as many times as you want, 24 hours a day, as long as there are no people around I’m glad that I can maintain a private space The floor is covered with wooden boards arranged vertically like this A heater is placed here I am happy about this kind of thing If the changing room is cold, it becomes completely uncomfortable There is a washbasin here and a changing area There are various amenities available, but things like hair dryers are not here, so please use them in your room There is a mirror This private bath on the third floor is the only one that is a semi-open-air bath When you open it, it feels like the outside air is coming in There is also a window on the right side that offers a view of the scenery The size of the bathtub is just big enough for two adults to fit in together There is plenty of space They said it was semi-open-air, but as for the view, you can’t see the scenery of the hot spring town directly In front of me is the view of the mountains on the opposite side of the hot spring town In winter, it’s a snowy landscape If you go further in, there is a washing area like this The shower is of the pull-out type from below Unusually, there are also Pola amenities provided It’s nice to be half outdoors, but some people might find it a bit cold in mid-winter The hot springs feel great, but if you want to wash your body thoroughly, it might be a good idea to use the private bath below It’s cold, so I want to get into the hot springs quickly I’m coming in It’s warm This feels absolutely amazing Hot springs in the middle of winter are the best Not only is the temperature low, but if you look at this right hand, you see a snowy landscape The hot spring while gazing at the snowy scenery is truly exceptional It feels really nice Earlier, while walking around the city, I saw foot baths and such A faint smell of sulfur wafted through the air Was it written that the spring quality is sodium chloride sulfate? With a pH of 6.6, it is neither alkaline nor acidic, but neutral The Zao Onsen we visited on this Yamagata trip has strongly acidic water, and the quality of the hot spring itself is quite distinctive in Zao It depends on the person, but I think many people prefer the water quality of Zao Since acidic hot springs cannot be soaked in for long, I think it’s perfectly fine to soak in this neutral hot spring for an extended period without any issues for the body You can soak in this hot spring multiple times and relax slowly The bathtub is spacious enough to stretch your legs out and relax comfortably, which is great Private baths are great because you won’t be disturbed by anyone If you sit on the opposite side, You can see a magnificent mountain view like this in the back on the left side Yamagata has truly beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains And such a deep snowy landscape cannot be seen in Kyushu And since we’re here, I’ll have a local slider This is written as ‘Ginzan’ In Kyushu, there is also Zabon cider in Beppu, but I learned for the first time that there is a Ginzan version as well Let’s eat Soaking in a hot spring while enjoying cold cider is the best It’s delicious You can enjoy the wonderful view of the silver mine, have the hot spring all to yourself whenever you want, and this is pure bliss I’ll go check out the private bath on the first floor Since there’s still some time until sunset, I came to the private bath on the first floor This is the bamboo bath As you can see, the walls on both sides are made of bamboo, and there are also heaters and a washbasin The changing room and bathroom look like this, and the inside of the bathroom is surrounded by bamboo, with indirect lighting illuminating the space from above I wonder if this bathtub will be a stone bath The way the hot spring seems to be coming out from the bamboo has a nice atmosphere, and it’s really lovely This is a private bath where you can feel the warmth of nature in its own way The size of this bathtub is larger than the semi-outdoor one on the third floor It can comfortably fit two people, and it seems like it could just barely accommodate three adults Since a gentle breeze from outside is coming in here as well, it seems like I can comfortably soak in the hot spring at a pleasantly cool temperature that isn’t too cold It seems like I can take a comfortable shower here too Next, this is the private bath made of hinoki cypress This atmosphere is nice Go left, and there is a changing area again The bathroom is on the right, and there is a space that feels a bit like gravel The bathtub is on the left This place is surrounded by cypress trees, and it has a lot of the feel of nature This might be the most characteristic part of this inn Doesn’t it feel like it’s designed by Kengo Kuma? You can slowly soak in the hot springs while enjoying the abundant scent of wood Since there are people in the other two, I’ll come back to see them again at night And when you go outside at dusk, this wonderful view spreads out before you Compared to noon, this is overwhelmingly more moving Perhaps normally, there would be snow piled up on the wall along this river and on that bridge as well I think this white landscape will become more intense When it’s snowing, I think it’s the best scenery This means that even now, there is still some snow left from around New Year’s A wonderful view typical of Ginzan Onsen spreads out along with the snowy landscape And the person I will be staying with today has arrived I am the snowman Travel is an investment in yourself This is the Morry channel It snowed too much, and the plane couldn’t land Today is the foggy man In this way, we can capture wonderful footage of Ginzan Onsen with Mori-san He takes photos that look great like this This is the view from the opposite side, and it’s quite beautiful as well The scenery with the gaslight reflecting on the river is truly beautiful Here, the sky appears vast, so the contrast between the sky and the hot spring town is really nice As the beautiful sunset envelops Ginzan Onsen, the wooden ryokans lined along the river are softly illuminated by gas lamps The fantastical scenery spreads out like you’ve slipped back in time to the Showa era It’s a charming streetscape with steam rising from the hot springs It’s a warm light that highlights the snowy landscape And it has a nostalgic scent of hot springs As the sun sets, the beauty of Ginzan Onsen at night delivers a special time that is deeply etched in the hearts of its visitors It’s time for dinner after returning to the inn It’s dinner Yes, and it’s time for dinner I’m happy that we can have our meal in the room It’s completely private The staff brought us the appetizer It’s sea urchin, shrimp, and roast beef it’s luxurious The aperitif is a locally produced wine When you open the menu, it looks like this There are items from the right hand to the left hand, and what just came out is the appetizer and the first course This is the drink menu, featuring a variety of sake from Yamagata On the next page, there are shochu, beer, and wine The wine is also from Yamagata; it’s Takahata And finally, we have soft drinks That price isn’t too high Now that Mr. Morry has arrived, I would like to propose a toast Thank you for your hard work His flight has turned into an amazing journey without landing in Yamagata Cheers! The man chugs a beer first That’s non-alcoholic It’s the best! This is actually the aperitif that is supposed to be drunk first A man quietly enjoys his pre-dinner drink in one go You have to savor elegant things little by little It’s delicious How do you read this? It looks delicious, with a chewy texture This is delicious It has an amazing sweetness that spreads with the texture of the rice cake, and the miso on top adds a refined sweetness, making it truly delicious Since it was New Year’s until recently, I was able to reaffirm the deliciousness of rice cakes I want to eat about two more I usually put about three pieces of mochi in my ozoni. How many does Mori-san have? I put in four pieces It feels like he won by adding one more I don’t know if it’s true or not This is written as Akanishigai, isn’t it not a turban shell? It’s delicious This akagane clam is delicious It has an amazing chewy texture with a hint of dashi, which is nice This one is more like white wine than beer, so I was saving it for that reason I’m frustrated It goes well with sake This isn’t it; this is a bit too sweet This is Asazuki vinegar miso Vegetables like these are definitely delicious in Yamagata Is Yamagata famous for its vegetables? I think it’s delicious because there are many mountains This is a half-hearted comment I understand. I’ll say something a bit more fitting Areas with temperature differences definitely produce delicious vegetables Indeed, in snowy areas like Niigata, Yamagata is also a basin, and because it’s a basin, the temperature difference is quite severe In Kyushu, you can get delicious fruits in Hita, and if I really want to say it seriously, I can Travel is truly an investment in oneself It’s crunchy and delicious. The miso is seasoned just right with a hint of sweetness It’s ginkgo It wasn’t ginkgo This is kumquat It was boiled kumquat It has a flavor similar to mandarin oranges It has a slightly sour taste with some honey, and the natural sweetness feels great What was ankimo again? It’s ankimo with ponzu sauce It’s monkfish liver Monkfish liver is delicious It has a moderate fish flavor and a refreshing aftertaste I want to drink sake I ended up ordering it without thinking This is Kinu. It seems quite rare I will have this Kinu It’s delicious The sharp spiciness stands out more than the sweetness I personally think this type of sake pairs perfectly with seafood Sake is delicious It really goes well with any Japanese cuisine When I visit each prefecture, I want to drink the local sake Next, the clear soup has arrived It says seafood dumpling It’s a clear and calming taste of the broth that won’t let you make mistakes Together with seafood dumplings The flavors of shrimp and fish paste are distinctly present There is no Japanese person who dislikes this Japanese sake goes perfectly with dashi It’s delicious This is it, the umami of the dashi and the umami of the sake complement each other The fish includes tuna, sea bream, squid, scallops, and shrimp This squid is called ‘manta squid.’ The cuttlefish is the chef’s favorite The slices are thick It has quite a satisfying texture It’s really interesting Well then, let’s go for the sashimi Yamagata is completely inland, so I’m not expecting much in terms of fish, but what do you think? It’s tuna It’s just delicious The tuna has no fishy smell at all, which is proof that quality control is being properly maintained This is delicious This is also something to look forward to It’s nicely sweet and tasty Fish is delicious, as usual Please enjoy it with sake, thank you very much He poured it for me; he used to be a salaryman, so he knows what he’s doing This is it. As expected, it has a strong spiciness that goes well with sashimi Having this makes me happy Sashimi, sake, and hot springs are irresistible It’s the best I will have the cuttlefish It’s quite thick in meat You’re good at it This squid is delicious It has a sticky texture, almost like mochi I may have never eaten such chewy squid before Mongolian squid, Mr. Mori just looked it up on ChatGPT a moment ago It seems to be surprisingly common in Kyushu. I’m not sure if that’s surprising or not This is Tohoku, but seafood that is often caught in Kyushu is also served here That just goes to show that it’s highly regarded nationwide; it’s the Mongolian squid Even though I’m in Kyushu, I’ve never eaten it Why is that? Please let me know if everyone knows about this, Monguika This might be the most satisfying and new texture in today’s meal The drinks are flowing The man drinks in one go And the duck hot pot has arrived, it looks delicious Once it comes to a boil and the duck is cooked, it can be eaten The pot is boiling nicely It’s open and hot!! It looks very delicious I introduced the hot pot, but since we were doing a food report, this actually arrived before the hot pot This is grilled sawara with saikyo miso This is chawanmushi I’m going for grilled sawara with Saikyo miso When you hear ‘Saikyo’, didn’t some people associate it with ‘the strongest’ rather than ‘the west of Kyoto’? Those people are definitely there I didn’t even know the term ‘Saikyo-yaki’ in the first place I was actually looking at this menu first, so that wasn’t the case at all It seems that Mori-san associated it with being the strongest of the strongest It’s simply delicious This is moderately sweetly seasoned, and yet it has a refined flavor that doesn’t overpower the umami of the fish Ryokans tend to serve a lot of saikyo-yaki Almost all the accommodations seem to serve Nishikyo-yaki That’s how popular it is That means it’s that strong Chawanmushi It’s delicious The ginkgo inside is nice The gentle flavor of the egg spreads in a wobbly, creamy way Chawanmushi is basically available at any inn you visit, right? That means it’s the strongest That’s the line I just said This is delicious The broth is not too strong, it’s just right I’m going for duck hot pot. It’s been a while since I’ve had duck hot pot It’s delicious It’s definitely a flavor with a wonderfully refreshing aftertaste the duck meat is just normally delicious here If I were to express my ideal, If you are targeting high-income individuals, there are surely people who want to eat Yonezawa beef shabu-shabu when they come to Yamagata Prefecture It’s really a selfish request, but… I wondered if they would raise the price a bit for a slight upgrade on the Yonezawa beef, but this is simply a delicious hot pot dish The duck hot pot dish also pairs well with sake until the very end It’s delicious Yamagata is indeed great. The rice is delicious, and there are many hot springs And to finish, we had soba This is cold soba, and in Yamagata, it’s common to serve it cold to better appreciate the flavor of the soba I just had warm soba earlier, so that was a complete failure Well, it was good that I enjoyed the warm one earlier, and I was able to stay at the inn and ultimately have the cold one as well This is delicious Indeed, since it’s not a warm broth at all, the noodles don’t get soggy at all, and you can really feel the firmness Since what I just ate was 100% buckwheat soba, I wonder how this one is It has a firm texture, so it feels similar to 100% buckwheat soba Despite having a strong soba flavor, it seems to have a smooth texture as well I think that’s pretty much perfect because it’s that delicious It might be true that to enjoy the original taste of soba, it’s better served cold It’s wonderful As expected, I’ve learned a lot from the viewers that Yamagata is famous for its soba From now on, I only want to eat cold soba That’s a comment I made too It’s really delicious I’m sorry, please change it to something warm That’s what I said too It’s a lie. I wanted it to be changed even though it was cold, so please don’t make the same mistake as everyone else The warm one was delicious, but it makes me feel like I’ve eaten something similar before I definitely think you should eat something cold at Yamazaki It’s completely different It has a flavor that really lets you feel the firmness of the texture And finally, for dessert, we had melon, strawberries, and crepes, along with some tea Let’s eat! The melon is really huge It’s delicious It’s definitely sweet Strawberries too The quality of Yamagata’s ingredients seems to be undoubtedly excellent The dishes themselves are relatively simple, and many flavors characteristic of Japanese cuisine were present Among them, the cold soba noodles stand out I thought it was great to be able to enjoy a flavor that I had never tasted anywhere else before Also, being able to eat in the room without any reservations is nice It’s great that I can immediately enjoy the wonderful view of Ginzan again after this It’s a bit warmer today, so it’s currently raining If this were snow, it would be the most beautiful scenery I guess the high season is from late January to February? I came a bit early since it’s still early January Still, since there was snow left earlier in the evening, I think we were able to deliver a pretty nice view just in time Let’s go to the hot springs again later tonight After eating, let’s relax a bit in the room; it will be 10 o’clock soon It seems that the Fujiya here will be locked after 10 o’clock, so I’ll step outside to see the view It’s raining outside, but there are a few customers around Since there are no buses running at this time, I think everyone here is just guests staying in the area I’m not sure if other accommodations also lock up at 10 o’clock, though This is what the scenery looks like in the rain I feel like there was a bit of snow, but of course, when it rains, the snow melts Today, the temperature is a bit higher than usual Of course, midwinter is the busy season, but the illumination of these gas lamps is truly a nostalgic and mystical sight I think even if you come in the summer, the scenery would still be impressive I came to see the remaining two private baths at night It’s just become available now The changing area here is very spacious The bathroom here has a stone bath The private bath we showed you before dinner was a place filled with the scents of bamboo and cypress This place has a slightly chic mode and a calm atmosphere The bathtub is large enough for two adults to comfortably fit in, and this is the last part here Surprisingly, when you open this door on the right, there are stairs that lead down to the basement It’s amazing, this is it I’m excited to see what kind of scenery there is As I come down, I wonder if I should call this concrete? Yes, it feels like there is a slightly elongated bathtub There is also a space to wash your body on the left, but it really feels like a completely underground cave hot spring At night, it’s paradise with a bamboo bath It’s the next morning Good morning Good morning I just took a refreshing bath in a private hot spring, and breakfast is also served in my room In the morning, I have salmon, salad, a soft-boiled egg, and natto. Around here, there are also things like ohitashi It’s rice and miso soup The rice was inside the cat’s pot I wonder, is it the Tsuyahime variety? I hadn’t heard anything, though There is dessert yogurt and fruit, and this is dressing and pickles And on the far left is this, which is yudofu The staff said that they are using the tofu from that tofu shop we ate at yesterday during the day I was able to eat it at the inn as well Let’s eat For Japanese people, breakfast is natto Natto is delicious Rice is too And miso soup I am satisfied with this My breakfast consists of rice, miso soup, natto, and eggs There is no greater luxury than this, especially since the eggs are onsen tamago The rice from Tohoku is delicious If I say Niigata is part of Tohoku, I might get scolded by the people from Niigata I love soccer, so since the Tohoku Electric Big Swan Stadium is in Niigata, I guess it counts as being in the northern country Rice from regions with a significant temperature difference where snow falls is definitely good At home, I usually just have rice, miso soup, natto, and eggs, but I also enjoy salmon It’s delicious The tofu has a nice, jiggly texture. It looks delicious It’s soft Since it’s freshly boiled, it tastes better than what I had yesterday Yesterday’s dinner was quite delicious as usual, and breakfast was really delicious as well The quality of the ingredients in Tohoku is indeed high If there was any new discovery, it would probably be the soba from last night That was a taste I had never experienced before Considering that the total cost for the entire accommodation was 80,000 yen, and each person paid 40,000 yen, there were various points that caught my attention The location is truly wonderful, and the atmosphere of Ginzan Onsen from that era is just fantastic This is about enjoying the design aspect of Kengo Kuma’s work There are various appealing aspects, but On the other hand, I personally feel that overall it has a somewhat simple feel I’m also concerned about the functionality aspect For example, I thought the sink over there was inconvenient because when you put something down, you have to reach all the way in to get it The mirror is a bit too low, so my head doesn’t fit in it Since my head doesn’t show up in the mirror itself, I have to bend down a bit to set it up I think foreigners and others are generally taller If the shower in the private bath is the type that pops out from below, it’s a hassle to put it away every time The faucet had instructions on how to use it, but I was confused about which side was hot water and which was cold I placed a lot of emphasis on the design, so there were some parts that were hard to understand In the bathroom, the mirror was hanging and swaying from side to side I want to tidy up a bit over there, like a woman It’s a bit troublesome if the mirror shakes, and there was no hairdryer I was told to get ready in the room since there was no hairdryer But there are probably people who want it, and men like us are fine with that I want to stay hydrated in the bathroom To enjoy the hot springs, having only one 500ml bottle of water in this room is definitely not enough It’s better for humans to drink plenty of water for health I only had one cup of tea in the morning I think it would be good to place a pot that keeps water cold with ice Especially if there isn’t a local juice to wake you up I think there are plenty of resources, and since there are lots of delicious fruits, it’s Yamagata It’s perfectly fine that the refrigerator isn’t inclusive, as this can vary by accommodation However, I do wish there were some inclusivity regarding the preparation of water and the absence of vending machines. I apologize for that thought Also, there isn’t that hand towel at the sink. There was one of those types that you take with paper, though If you’re prioritizing design, shouldn’t it be a towel instead of paper? I feel a bit of that mismatch This is something that can’t be helped due to the structure I think there might be some people who are a little concerned about passing through the front desk in the morning when going for a private event I head to the hot spring with a sleepy face and a disheveled yukata The area beyond the front desk is also a public space, so I think there are usually people walking around in the morning Since there is no hairdryer in the private bath, I think I will have to return to the room with wet hair To maintain complete privacy in the bath on the third floor, it was mentioned in the Google reviews as well Since there are no curtains here in the room, having meals in the room is nice, but the privacy is also somewhat lacking I had quite a few thoughts about the functional aspects, so please let me express my honest opinion on that I truly think it was worth coming to Ginzan Onsen, and I am very satisfied I want to come again at the end of January to February for real, There are some concerns in this price range If this were a 10,000 or 20,000 yen accommodation, I wouldn’t say anything and would actually be very satisfied I think it’s completely natural for some people to feel that it’s fine as long as overseas guests are willing to pay To be honest, I hesitate to say this myself, but since I’ve stayed at various accommodations across the country, I honestly feel that way I felt that for paying 40,000 yen, the experience value of the accommodation itself should be improved a bit more, especially regarding Fujiya If improvements are made, I believe satisfaction will definitely increase, and the number of repeat customers will also grow I really hope they do their best I understand that there are underlying issues, such as the difficulty in securing personnel and staff, especially with the influx of inbound customers I hope the ryokan industry does well It may be rude to say, but honestly, with the popularity exploding like this, customers gather even without doing anything In the long term, I think it’s important to properly acquire repeat customers I think it’s important to raise the satisfaction level in those finer details, I am also seriously managing this channel like this, and since it relates to my own trust, I felt I had to be honest about that I had a great time at Ginzan Onsen The food was delicious Please enjoy the wonderful scenery that exudes the Taisho Roman at Ginzan Onsen On this trip to Yamagata, I will visit Zao to see the frost-covered trees I will also enjoy the hot springs with excellent water quality I also stayed at a great value onsen inn near the city, Tendo Onsen I enjoyed a lot of Yamagata gourmet food, so please be sure to check out other videos of my Yamagata trips It was a delicious Yamagata full of charm Please subscribe to my channel and follow me on social media
