Hello, we are in Tokyo and today we’re going to do a review of the hotel we’re staying at. I got to read this because it’s a super long name, JR Kushu Hotel, Blossom Shinjuku. But you know, they just say Blossom Shinjuka Hotel, but if you go online, you’re going to see that long name. So that’s why we wanted to say the long name for you. We have been staying here since, let’s see, Wednesday. Today is Saturday and we check out tomorrow on Sunday. Okay, so we’ve spent quite a bit of time in here already, which we thought, okay, now is a good time to give a review now that we’ve been here for a little bit. So, I’m going to give the tour of the bedroom, and we booked a three single bed. It’s um me, Crystal, and our little sister staying here. So, we wanted to get a room with three beds. And when you book hotels in Japan, and if you have more than two people, it’s a little bit tricky finding a room or a hotel with three beds. So, you know, when you’re looking online, just make sure if it says three beds that you’re getting three beds that are not like well, it depends on your comfort level. We didn’t want like a two bed and then like a couch, a pullout couch, cuz usually those aren’t very comfortable. Um, we did want like three single beds and so we were able to get it here. It’s very simple. As soon as you walk in, you can see the beds right away. And pretty much the entire room, the space is used just for the beds. There’s not a whole lot of other space to do anything besides like a walkway. So, if you look right here, this is where the TV, I guess, kind of like console is. And we’ve been using this space to lay out Crystal’s suitcase. On this table, there are some outlets. There was this like water jug here, which were able to replenish, put hot or cold water. There is a machine out right outside of our door next to the elevator. So, we’ve been actually been using that quite a bit to get hot water and both cold water. The hot water is really hot. Um, we’re able to use it to um sometimes we buy like instant soup next door at the convenience store cuz we’re like located right next to a I believe it’s a Lawson. So, we’re able to use the hot water there to heat up our food. I think we did use a refrigerator. I think my sister has put some drinks in here. So, there’s a small fridge if you need um a fridge for your purposes. There is um what should I put in here? There’s apples. That’s so cute. Okay, so there’s apples there. And then on the other side, if you want to drink some tea, they’ve got some options of drip coffee and green tea. There’s cream and sugar. And top here, I’m not sure what this is. I guess it’s for cables if you forgot your own. Oh, okay. Yeah. Oh, look. There’s like bunch of adapters. Adapters. Yeah. Then also there is a little like menu guide here. Just information about the hotel and also if you want to get in room massage service, they have that as well. Looks like on the back here they have it in English and it’s actually the the prices back here aren’t that bad. So we have used this service at other hotels we’ve stayed in Tokyo and it’s great. On the bedside there’s tissue. So, there’s outlets here and then there’s two USBC ports up here. So, yeah, we were kind of surprised that they’re actually USBC ports and not USB ports because that’s what we’re used to seeing. So, what’s great about this right here is we can control all the lights um right here, which is awesome. So, when we get in bed, we’re not like, “Oh, shoot. We got to turn off the lights.” We can do everything right here. So, my sister’s passed out. Sorry, Sydney. She’s a mother of two teenagers, so they they wear her out. though. Um, so the bed, you know, we noticed that this bed, the third bed is smaller. The mattress, I want to say not smaller in size, but in height, like it’s a little bit of a different height from ours. She said it’s comfortable. Um, you know, I mean, on my bed was comfortable. I I sleep just fine on it. Um, the blankets are great or the comforter is great. Um, and Cindy said she she has no problem sleeping on this bed. the It does feel a little bit more hard though, the mattress, than this one. A little bit different, but we sleep just fine. And then, so this is an air purifier here. We’ve been putting it next to my sister cuz she’s been having some allergy issues and coughing. So, um, she’s been using the air purifier next to her. And the view is not really that great. We don’t really have a view that’s um particularly amazing, but at least we can see outside. I’d rather have some sort of view than no view at all. So, there is a little seating area. It’s a bit tight. What I probably assume is like if they don’t have this third bed, these chairs and this table’s probably over where this bed is. But this actually has been coming in handy cuz my sister puts her suitcase up here and then we put like our bags over there. So, I mean, I’d rather have this than not have it in this space. So, this this has been um helping out quite a bit cuz there was only one luggage rack for us to use and there’s three suitcases. So, we’ve been using the table, the luggage rack, and then Crystal’s been using the TV console over there. So, all right. So, continuing on, uh, this is the entryway hallway area of the room. We have like two hooks here, which we’ve been using. I’ve been putting my makeup bag here, uh, cuz, you know, there’s three of us, so, you know, two there’s a lot of space being utilized inside the bathroom over there, which I’m about to show. But, I it was just fine having my makeup bag here uh, with my little hook cuz there’s like this big um, full length mirror like right across. We’ve been using this mirror to do our hair because they have a outlet right below it. Uh so we plug in like our hair dryer or the uh straightener. So on the bed they provide a robe. Uh it’s right here. Actually I haven’t used mine. Um so each bed had a robe that you can use. Candy and Cindy they used it last night. I haven’t used mine. That’s why it’s still folded up. But yeah, so it’s like, you know, pretty thin, but if you need a robe, they have it. Uh there’s an ironing board and ironing in here, but this was not in the room. We actually asked for it at the front desk. I always ask um every time I travel somewhere, I ask ahead of time, I email them and ask if there’s an iron in the room because I always need one. So most of the time, I feel like nowadays, hotel rooms don’t automatically have irons and ironing boards in the room. Um, they have steamers, which is nice, too, but sometimes, you know, steamers just don’t cut it for me for a lot of the clothes that I have. So, I need to iron an ironing board. So, they brought it up to our room after we checked in when we asked for it. Uh, and then here’s the [Music] closet. So, the closet had two extra pillows. I’m using one of the extra pillows. These pillows up here are actually more firm. The ones on the bed are more soft. So, if you like the firm type, then use these pillows up here. And this is the uh the steamer that I was talking about that comes in the room. Um this is actually a really nice steamer. I like how compact it is. Um it’s easy to hold and it gets the job done. Like I’ve uh steamed several clothing items and so has Cindy, so it’s worked out well for us. They also provide enough slippers for all of us. Uh, there’s three of them down there. Actually, Candi’s using one right now, so they actually provided more when they cleaned our room. There’s actually a digital safe in here. Pretty good size, I would say. Plenty of hangers. I think there’s about like 10 hangers up here that we’re using, so hanging up all our jackets and some of our clothes that we don’t have to worry about ironing later. And then down here, there’s like the laundry bag thing. I think this is where the steamer was. can’t remember, but you know, if you want to do laundry, they provide that here. They also do have uh a laundry room in this hotel uh on certain floors. And uh I believe Candy already mentioned this, but outside just outside our hallway, we’re right by the elevators and the hot and cold water station. That hot water out there, the dispenser is like super hot water, like boiling type water. So, you just put that in your cup noodle or your cup soup and you’re ready to eat. So, I thought that was super convenient. Um, you don’t need like a microwave, you know. Although, they do also provide a microwave on certain floors, too, if you need it. There’s also a hot pot kettle beneath the television, but we didn’t even use it because we just use the hot water outside of our door. So, it’s super convenient. So, if you want to clean your room, uh, they have like these signs. I like that it’s magnet and that like a door tag because those door tags always fall off. So you can just put a magnet on and say please clean up our room or just do not disturb. We have used the please make up our room and it’s always tidy and clean when we come back which is nice. All right inside here is the bathroom. It’s like a sliding door. Um they have the typical Japanese toilet which I think worldwide has been like well recognized lately. Um but you know they have like these fancy buttons that you can use. It actually automatically flushes like right after you use the restroom, it just flushes on its own. But if you want to, you know, press a button to flush, you can use that as well. They have a eco flush. And this is the sink area. I did like this lighting. It was really nice for me. Um Candy would like it a little bit brighter, but it was fine for my my use. Would have liked a little bit more extra counter space for the three of us, but we made it work. And here is the Japanese style bathroom. Uh, so the Japanese style bathroom, they have a bathtub on the side and then this washing area where you shower. So you shower first. They even have like a little stool there so you can sit down and take a shower, wash your body, and then you go in the tub and take a bath. They do provide body soap, conditioner, and shampoo for you. We did try to use the bathtub. Actually, Candy try to use the bathtub, but we had a problem where it wouldn’t fill up all the way. It would only fill up quarter of the way. Not sure why that happened. A little bit more about this place. It is a great location. It’s right it’s about like what a 5-minute walk to the JR train station in Shinjuku. It’s close to a lot of eeries as well. We went to Koma Coffee Shop this morning which is a 5-minute walk the other way. And that place is great if you’re trying to get some coffee first thing in the morning. They have great prices there. Um, there’s also other eeries nearby. As I mentioned, there’s a convenience store right next door, which is nice. And there’s like a shopping a little shopping department store with a lot of restaurants there as well. They do have a restaurant on site as well, but it’s pretty expensive. Um, we went there. We were going to have breakfast there this morning, but it’s uh buffet style and each for each person. I think it was 3,500 yen, which is pretty expensive for us because we don’t really eat much at buffet, especially for breakfast. So that’s why we went to the KDA coffee shop uh nearby. And for all three of us, it was uh 3,500 yen. So you can definitely save a lot more money that way. Staff has been great. They’ve been very polite and helped us out whenever we needed it. Oh, today it was actually raining, too, and they provided umbrellas to use if you need to go out, so we use some of those umbrellas. Um what else? Yeah, I think overall really like this place. Maybe a critique would be, you know, the bathtub not filling up with the water. Um, the elevators are kind of slow. I feel like they could add an extra elevator or two because there was always people waiting for an elevator or it would take forever for the elevator to come sometimes. Um, other than that, yeah, I think this is a great hotel to stay at. I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did, please give it a thumbs up. We loved staying in Shibuya last time but staying here in Shinjuku was just as great! We really enjoyed the convenience and comfort of Hotel Blossom Shinjuku.
