How are you all? Welcome to the Nabe Travel Channel. This time, I would like to visit Takumi no Kokoro Yoshikawaya, located in Anahara Onsen, Okuiizaka, Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. Yoshikawaya is an inn that was selected as one of the 100 hotels and ryokans selected by professionals organized by Travel Newspaper. I’m really looking forward to it. So let’s take a look together. Check-in went smoothly, so I would like to go on a room tour right away. Our room this time is Room 836. What kind of room is it? Let’s open the door. The atmosphere is beautiful. It has been quite a few years since the hotel opened, but it is in very good condition. I wonder what it’s like. It is quite spacious and has a nice , elegant feel. It is a beautiful Japanese-style room that is perfect for one person. It has a nice atmosphere. I wonder what the view outside is like. A peaceful landscape spreads out before me. I think there are cherry blossoms in front of me. The flowers have fallen now , but I think it would be very beautiful if the whole place was in bloom. It looks nice . There are yukatas and a safe here, and face towels too. Next is the futon. There are quite a few futons, and the size is such that about four people can stay. The futons are prepared when the time comes. It is a very clean and elegant room where you can relax. This time I booked through Rakuten Travel and chose the room selection plan . It includes a kaiseki dinner and a breakfast buffet, and the price for two adults is 46,160 yen for a stay starting from Sunday. I’m looking forward to the food too. This is the bathroom. It has a washlet and is simple. This is the sink and bathroom. There are skin care products on the sink. The bathroom is a typical apartment type, but it is very well cleaned. The hotel also has two large public baths and a private open-air bath, so I would like to use those. I will be starting an event to visit flower spots in Fukushima City . There is a rally, isn’t there? You can see all kinds of flowers from March to August. Indeed, when you look outside, you can see all kinds of flowers on the mountain. There also seems to be a fruit juice stand and a power spot called Momojin Shrine inside the hotel. Let’s take a look at them later. Next, let’s take a stroll around the hotel. We arrived at the lobby where the front desk is located. In addition to being selected as one of the 100 hotels chosen by professionals, the hotel has also received various other awards. The building is divided into four buildings, and the entrance and front desk are located on the third floor. From here in the lobby, you can see the Surikami River flowing below, and the weather is very nice, so it is a very pleasant lobby. Next to the front desk , you can choose a yukata and there are amenities . The lobby is quite spacious. This is the fruit juice stand that was written in the room earlier. There are welcome drinks and welcome food here , which you can enjoy after checking in. There is a wide variety of sweets, and there is also coffee and ice cream, so the contents are quite good. It looks delicious. Juice coming out of the tap is a dream, isn’t it? Luxury, luxury . Yoshikawaya is a long-established store that is celebrating its 185th year. It is said that it started as a hot spring inn that was opened by half farmers and half merchants when it was first established. The shop is open from 8am to 6pm. The local alcohol is good, there is quite a variety, and it’s nice to drink it in your room . There is also karaoke, a book lounge, and a kids’ space on the third floor. This is a book lounge exclusively for guests. You can’t take out books. There are a lot of manga. It’s relaxing. It’s like this here too. The kids’ space is only for children under elementary school age. You can enjoy bouldering that is 5m wide and 3m high. Next, I would like to take the elevator down to the first floor. This is the first floor of Kouunkaku. This is the fruit kingdom of Fukushima, and there is a peach shrine with peaches as its deity. It’s a rather surreal image. Next to the peach shrine are the historical documents of Yoshikawaya. It is a fine inn where the Ryuo Shogi tournament has been held in the past and where the imperial family has also visited. There is also a heated pool, which is apparently only open for a limited time during summer and winter holidays. There is also a table tennis room . It’s nice to play table tennis in a Japanese-style room. Next, I would like to go see the hot spring . The hot spring has a large bath and an open-air bath. There is also a private bath. You can make a reservation at the front desk for 2,700 yen per hour. I got the key, so I would like to go in. I wonder what it’s like. It’s beautiful. It has been properly renovated. Be careful not to forget to lock the door . It’s warm, but it can be cold at times when it’s open to the stairwell. Nature is great! You can enjoy the beauty of your skin by listening to the murmuring of the Surikami River while watching Mount Katakura, which changes its appearance with each season. The open-air bath was amazing! I’m thirsty , so let’s go see what dinner is like next. Dinner is a kaiseki meal at Seseragi no Mori Dining Touka. Here, you can enjoy colorful seasonal dishes made with ingredients from Tohoku Fukushima, carefully selected by our craftsmen. There are also quite a few types of sake. Well then, everyone, thank you for your hard work. The menu starts with hashizome, followed by appetizers and soup. There was a wide variety of dishes, from the main course to the sweet and sour dishes. Yoshikawaya’s specialty was a medicinal soup with collagen from soft-shelled turtle and shark fin, which was very delicious. I think it was probably made with a base of Fukushima’s local dish, Kozuyu. The sashimi was also delicious. Then there was the main course, sukiyaki. The meat had a nice marbling and was very delicious. You could feel the sweetness of the meat. When I choose a place to stay, I always look for the chef’s name on the website or menu. If it is, I think it’s a good choice. It was a very satisfying dinner. Thank you for the meal. Next, I would like to go and see the breakfast buffet at Restaurant Matsukaze . This time, the dining venue has changed, and it boasts a view of the vast valley. At the breakfast buffet, you can enjoy Yoshikawaya’s specialty squid and carrot satsumaage and freshly grilled fish. There aren’t many menu items, but the dishes are mainly Japanese and each one is very tasty. After eating dinner and breakfast, I thought that the stews were very delicious. I think the broth is also delicious, but I think the balance between the taste of the vegetables as they are and the seasoning that makes the most of the ingredients was very good.
