Summer Hokkaido: Hill of the Buddha, Moai Statue, Rusutsu Yotei Pork Cutlet, Sony ZV-E1
We went to the Farmers Market on our last day at Lake Toya and realised we visited this place 3 times in 3 days. We picked up another juicy green melon and some sweet corn, knowing that we will not have another chance to eat such delicious food elsewhere.
Next, we visited Rusutsu Yotei Pork Cutlet shop for the thick, crispy pork cutlet sandwiches and Japanese curry. We head off to the Hill of the Buddha subsequently. Designed by top Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the Hill of the Buddha is a deeply contemplative, modern Buddhist shrine, set within the Makomanai Takino Cemetery in Sapporo, Japan.
After this, we drove to Asahikawa and stayed in the city for the night. Our hotel, the JR INN Asahikawa, is conveniently located above the AEON shopping mall and right beside the city’s shopping street. Our dessert for the night includes the green melon we bought earlier in the day.
