🌿 GUNMA LOG #01｜八ッ場ダム ― 群馬の新名所を9分でまるっと紹介 🌿
群馬・長野原町に佇む 八ッ場ダム。
吾妻川に築かれたこの多目的ダムは、治水・利水・発電を担う、首都圏の“静かなる守り手”。
構想から完成まで約60年、地元の理解と協力によって実現しました。
晴れた日のダム湖は、まるでリゾート地のよう。
エメラルドグリーンに輝く湖面と、静けさに包まれた壮大な景色が広がります。
ダムの上からは下を一望でき、意外とスリルも満点！
エレベーターで下におりると、水の勢いと迫力に圧倒されます。
ここから吾妻峡へと、清流が流れていきます。
その後は、渓谷を見渡す展望デッキへ。
新緑の間からのぞく川の色が本当に美しい。
地下に設置された発電所の見学や、プロジェクションマッピングも楽しめます。

ランチは、地元のレストラン「やまきぼし」さんで。
50年続く伝統の味、熱々のビーフシチューをいただきました。
レストランにはお宿も併設されており、源泉100%の温泉も楽しめるとのこと。
テラス席からは、あがつま湖と八ッ場大橋を一望できます。
おまけに、非売品のぐんまちゃんステッカーもいただきました！
新緑の一日、ただ「ぼーっと」過ごすだけでも心が癒されます。

🌿 GUNMA LOG #01 | Discovering Yamba Dam — Gunma’s Scenic New Landmark in Just 9 Minutes 🌿
Located in the mountains of Naganohara, Gunma, Yamba Dam is a multi-purpose dam built on the Agatsuma River.
It plays a key role in flood control, water supply, and hydroelectric power — a “silent guardian” supporting the Tokyo metropolitan area.
The project took nearly 60 years to complete, made possible through the understanding and cooperation of the local community.
On a clear day, the emerald-green lake shines like a resort.
The vast, tranquil scenery is breathtaking.
You can look down from the top of the dam—it’s surprisingly thrilling!
Take the elevator down and feel the powerful rush of water, almost like sparkling soda.
From there, the clear water flows gently into the Agatsuma Gorge.
Next, we visited a scenic observation deck with a panoramic view.
The sight of the river through the vibrant greenery was truly stunning.
We also explored the underground power station, carefully designed to preserve the landscape, and enjoyed a brief projection mapping show.

🍴 Lunch & Hot Spring Info ♨️

We had lunch at the local restaurant Yamakiboshi, where we enjoyed a steaming hot bowl of their signature beef stew—
a flavor that’s been loved for over 50 years.
The restaurant also offers lodging and features a 100% natural hot spring bath.
From the terrace, you can enjoy a full view of Lake Agatsuma and the Yamba Bridge.
As a bonus, we received a limited-edition Gunma-chan sticker!
Spending a quiet, green-filled day here really soothes the soul.
