花に埋もれる山頂へ！つつじで彩られる赤い雲海を歩いてみた！：『奈良：大和葛城山』
May 15, 2025Hello everyoneToday I would like to go to see the azaleas at “Mt. Katsuragi” in Nara Prefecture. The nearest station is “Kintetsu: Gose Station”. It is about 45 minutes from “Osaka Abenobashi”. There is a tourist information center next to the station. Take the Nara Kotsu bus from “Kintetsu: Gose Station” and get off at “Katsuragi Ropeway Mae”. The journey takes about 15 to 19 minutes. The fare is 340 yen one way (adult). “Azaleas of Mt. Katsuragi” refers to the large colony of mountain azaleas that bloom around the summit of Mt. Katsuragi in Gose City, Nara Prefecture . The best time to see them is from early to mid-May each year. We will head to the summit by ropeway. There is also a shop on the boarding side. Fare: 950 yen (adult: one way) Let’s go to the ropeway! I wonder if we’ll ride that one ~ (* ´ω ｀ *) Let’s get on! It takes about 6 minutes to reach the summit. Besides the ropeway, there is a hiking trail, which is small but can be accessed from the entrance right in front of you. The view is great – we’ve arrived near the summit! From here, we walk a little. “Katsuragi Tenjin Shrine” is a shrine located near the summit of Mt. Katsuragi, and is a sacred place that conveys the history of ancient faith and Shugendo to the present day. The green is very pleasant. Are we almost there? The highlight here is the vivid red mountain azaleas that spread across a vast grassland of about 15 hectares. They are also said to be “a million trees at a glance.” The red is very beautiful and spectacular! Let’s change the location. There is a path that allows you to view them up close. I wonder what is further ahead – we go under the azaleas. The azaleas seen from below were also beautiful. Next, let’s go to the area around the summit! This is the summit. Let’s have lunch here. “Katsuragi Kogen Lodge” Here you can stay overnight, take a day trip to the baths, and eat. The cafeteria in the lodge is popular for its “duck hotpot” and “duck rice bowl” made with local duck meat. Duck rice bowl (with soup): 1,400 yen The duck meat was sweet and spicy, had a firm texture, and was satisfying to eat. The soup was topped with fluffy meringue, and it was a visually pleasing dish. This bell is called the “Happy Bell of the Sky.” It is a monument that prays for a strong bond with a lover. “Shirakaba Shokudo” Yomogi Mochi: 500 yen *Includes walnut miso On the way back, let’s walk along the hiking trail. Kujira Falls Course There are several courses, but this one is a path along waterfalls and streams, so you can feel the sounds of nature. It’s right under the ropeway. I can hear the sound of water. 今回は奈良県にある『大和葛城山』に行ってみました。
奈良県と大阪府の県境にそびえる大和葛城山は春から初夏にかけて咲き誇るヤマツツジの大群生で知られる、関西屈指の絶景スポットです。
標高約960メートルの山頂付近では、5月中旬から下旬にかけて約3万株ものヤマツツジが一斉に咲き誇り、山全体が真っ赤な花の絨毯に覆われたような風景が広がります。その壮大なスケールと美しさは、「まるで空の上にある花畑」とも言われ、多くの登山客やカメラ愛好家を魅了しています。

ですが5分咲きでした。（黒い蕾部分が目立ちます）
③ハイキングコースはヒールやサンダルは駄目！
ハイキングを行う際はヒールやサンダルは
避けて、歩きやすい靴を履く事をおすすめします！

山を降りる事が出来ました。
