Photographed on May 9, 2024 in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Horiuchi district is a traditional buildings preservation district. It is a samurai area that was developed as the Sannomaru of Hagi Castle during the Edo period. The mansions of feudal lords and senior vassals of the domain lined up, and the earthen walls and Nagayamon gates still remain today. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
