The Ariake Sea is the largest tidal flat in Japan and home to many endemic species such as the mussel.

Nagabeta Kaishoro is also a popular one-piece spot because of its unique tidal flat features and a road that continues to walk on the sea.

But it is surprisingly not on the map, as it is located right in the middle of Kumamoto Castle and Amakusa, the two major tourist areas of the prefecture.
