相模原市磯部の勝坂遺跡には有鹿谷の聖地がある。谷の奥には清水の湧く洞窟があり、鳩川に流れ落ちる。その傍らの鳥居の奥に奥宮が祀られている。この地が旧地と云われている。
欽明天皇の御代（539‐571）、伊勢の国鈴鹿から座間に移られた鈴鹿神は多くの財宝を持ち豊かな暮らしをしていた。当時、相模国勝坂にいた有鹿神はそれを聞いて財宝を横取りしようとやってきた。争いとなり、急を聞いて駆けつけた諏訪明神と弁財天の応援で鈴鹿神が勝ち、有鹿神は海老名の上郷に追いやられた、という伝説が残っている。

The spring water that springs from Arukadani is the source of life, and it has been a power spot where people have gathered since ancient times.
A power spot connected to the Jomon period
The Katsusaka ruins in Isobe, Sagamihara City, are home to the sacred ground of Arukadani. Deep in the valley there is a cave where clear water springs up, and it flows down into the Hatagawa River. Behind the torii gate nearby is the inner shrine. This place is said to be the former site.
During the reign of Emperor Kinmei (539-571), Suzuka-no-kami, who moved from Suzuka in Ise Province to Zama, had much treasure and lived a prosperous life. Aruka-no-kami, who was in Katsusaka in Sagami Province at the time, heard about this and came over to steal the treasure. A fight ensued, and with the help of Suwa Myojin and Benzaiten, who rushed to the scene upon hearing the news, Suzuka-no-kami won, and Aruka-no-kami was exiled to Kamigo in Ebina, according to legend.
