Tsukidate Yakushi
Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture Oshu-kaido 77th inn, Tsukidate inn, Kurihara-gun, Rikuzentakoku, walking We will start the second part of the Tsukidate-juku section.
Leave Sorinji Temple and proceed along Tsukidate Yakushi Dori. Tsukidate-juku seems to have been crowded with people and goods as a branch of the road from the Oshu highway to Akita and Yamagata, and also as a branch of the road leading to Sanuma Castle and the coastal area beyond. The name of the area derives from the Muromachi period (1336-1573), when the powerful Oba clan established a stronghold in the area. Gift Center Hashashiya has been in business for over 160 years.
They hold an irregular tea ceremony with a limited number of people at the main building behind the store. Some people visit from far away. The corner in the left front is thought to be the site of the former Chikudate Honjin (Kishuya).
The “Ruins of Emperor Meiji’s Gyozaisho”, which was built by the head of the family at that time to commemorate the Emperor Meiji’s stay, has been relocated to another location. Kurihara City Library It appears that this monument was located at the intersection you just mentioned.
I understand that the monument needs to be moved, but I would like to see a posting indicating its location at the site as well. Now that the location of the main camp has been confirmed, return to the street. Pass through the site of the main camp again (on the left). Half of the corner of the coffee shop in front has been taken away for road maintenance.
You can see why the monument was moved. Sentaiya was founded in 1885.
Unfortunately, they closed their store at the end of 2023. Next door is Maruyo Shokudo, run by the 8th generation owner.
It is said that in the past, the stores of the “ Tsukidate Mutual Market” used to line up from Sorinji Temple to here. Nakamachi Shopping Street stretches in the direction of National Route 4.
This is a street with a Showa-era atmosphere, and is flanked by Higashimachi Shopping Street and Ekimae Shopping Street. On the right is Kintokuya, founded in 1787.
This street has many long-established stores. Kikunoya Seika was established in 1918.
They also have a store in Rakuten. The intersecting street is National Route 398, which is the junction of Oshu-kaido, Tome-kaido, and Koyasu-kaido.
Koyasu-kaido. That’s a sparrow name that could be Okella.
No savings is nicely said. The map shows “Tsukidateyakushi” as far as this creek, and there are no stores north of this point, so the northern entrance to the inn is probably around here. Walk until you reach Route 4. The road joins Route 4 at the intersection with a “business supermarket. This is the end of the second part of the Chikkodate Inn section.
I also walked through a shopping street that feels like the Showa period, so I will post additional information when I can edit it. We hope you enjoyed it. See you later ( ^_^)/~~~~
