【長崎県大村市】不思議な物が見つかる大村市の魅力を発見する観光 長崎空港だけじゃない!What to do & see in Omura, Nagasaki prefecture, Japan

This is incredible! I found a vending machine that sells cooked pig feet. That was so unexpected, I couldn’t stop laughing. Pig feet…a 24-hour pig-feet vending machine… The brand name on this vending machine is… “Newton!” In Japanese, the sound of “ton” often means “pig.” So “Newton” can be translated to “New pig.” Also, since the vending machine uses gravity to dispense the product, “Newton” is a perfect funny name! Hi everyone! This is Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. I spent my 4th and 5th grades at this Omura school here. That’s Nagasaki Airport, built in 1975. It’s the world’s first airport constructed over the sea. This beach may look ordinary, but it’s not. The sand is made from recycled glass bottles! I’ll show you now. Please stick around to the end! Omura City is the only growing city in Nagasaki Prefecture. Thanks to the recent opening of the West Kyushu Bullet Train line, it takes only 80 minutes to get to travel from Hakata Station in Fukuoka. Many people visiting Nagasaki Prefecture arrive via Nagasaki Airport. The observation deck at the airport has “The Bell of Love.” People ring the bell to wish happiness to family, friends and themselves. Local people love this airport, and even a bakery was named after it. Omura is the birthplace of boat racing! At Kotohira Sky Park, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the city, Omura Bay and Nagasaki Airport. On the terrace of this cafe, you can enjoy this amazing view with soft drinks. Speaking of wonderful views, I like this cute variety goods store, Naminouo, located on Omura Bay. In the back of the store, there are seats facing the bay. I love to look at the shimmering bay while drinking takeout coffee from the store. We can also view this 30m / 99ft high waterfall from behind. I love this tonkatsu restaurant named Hamakatsu, based in Nagasaki Prefecture. I ordered the mixed cutlets combination, including the Holland Cutlet with melted cheese. I like crushing sesame seeds for tonkatsu sauce. Kusumoto Masataka was a politician. He served as the Governor of Niigata Prefectural, Governor of Tokyo and Speaker of the House of Representatives. He built this house in 1870. Officially, this isn’t a samurai house, but it has some features. To detect intruders, the hallways are intentionally made to creak when people walk. This is the salon where the host welcomed guests. The low ceiling was designed to prevent anyone from swinging a sword toward the host. Bathroom. Kitchen. I love to come here when I want to relax in a quiet place. Matsumoto Azalea Garden is open only during the azalea season (April) and the cosmos season (October). During the azalea season, monkeys also perform tricks to entertain guests. Nodake Lake was constructed in 1661. It’s now a relaxing outdoor activity hub. The Omata Farm Cosmos Field is located right next to Nodake Lake. You can walk to tiny Terashima (Temple Island.) It was a filming location for the NHK drama series, “Ryomaden.” Matsubara District was a post town of Nagasaki-Kaido, the main road between Nagasaki and Tokyo. An elephant gifted to a shogun in Tokyo walked through this town after arriving at the Port of Nagasaki. On the property of this shrine, there’s a bronze bust of Tasaki Jinsaku, who was born here. He is the founder of the pearl company called Tasaki. Thank you very much for watching to the end. Please “like” and subscribe to my channel. See you next time. Sayonara!
