群馬県館林市にあるつつじが岡公園に行ってきました。
ここは100品種、1万本以上のつつじが咲き誇る世界有数のつつじ園で、 1934年（昭和9年）にその価値が認められ、「つつじヶ丘」の名で国の文化財および名勝に指定されました。
歩道の脇や家の垣根などによく見かけるつつじ。見慣れた花。恥ずかしながらそんな風に思ってました。
しかしながらここへ来て、この花の鮮やかさ、華やかさに度肝を抜かれました。
圧倒的に咲き誇るつつじの饗宴。どうぞゆっくりとお楽しみ下さい。

I visited Tsutsujigaoka Park in Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture.
This is one of the world’s largest azalea gardens with more than 10,000 azaleas of 100 varieties in bloom. In 1934, its value was recognized and it was designated as a national cultural asset and a place of scenic beauty under the name “Tsutsujigaoka.
Azaleas are often seen by the sidewalks and hedges of houses. Familiar flowers. I am ashamed to admit that I thought so.
However, when I came here, I was astonished by the vividness and splendor of these flowers.
A feast of overwhelmingly blooming azaleas. Please take your time and enjoy.
