Honancho Station is the terminus of a branch line of the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line located in Suginami-ku, Tokyo.

Honancho Station is the terminus of a branch line of the Marunouchi Line and a central station in a residential area with convenient access to Shinjuku and Ikebukuro.
The branch line branches off from the main line (Ogikubo – Ikebukuro) at Nakano Sakaue Station, and some trains go directly to Ikebukuro.
History
Background: Honancho Station opened in 1962 with the extension of the Marunouchi Line between Nakano Sakaue and Honancho.
Originally planned as a station on the Toei Subway (now the Toei Shinjuku Line), it was changed to the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (now the Tokyo Metro).
This was a result of plans to extend the Marunouchi Line and to reflect local transportation demand.
Tips for Users
Avoid crowds: Avoid the 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. time slot, and use the subway smoothly around 7:00 a.m. or after 9:00 a.m.
Save money: A one-day pass for Tokyo Metro (750 yen for adults, as of 2025) allows you to freely travel on and off the Marunouchi Line and other Tokyo Metro lines.
Walking around: The rows of cherry blossom trees along the Kanda River are especially nice in spring (late March to early April). Picnics at Wadabori Park are also popular.
Shopping: Summit Store in the shopping district is open until 10:00 p.m., convenient for after-work shopping.
