Hello everyone, this is Doromichi. This time, I visited a lighthouse located at the western end of the Shimane Peninsula. This lighthouse is known as the tallest stone lighthouse in Japan, standing 43.65m above ground level (63.3m above sea level). To give a rough idea, it’s equivalent to a 15-story apartment building. This time, I was shooting video with a camera called Osmo Pocket 3, and I tried to see how far I could zoom into the lighthouse. Until now, I could only get this close. However, with this major update, I was able to get this close and shoot a video. The image quality is good enough for an amateur. Let’s go closer. What kind of dried fish is that? Now, from here, we’re at the shopping district. But it’s 7:00 in the early morning. Everywhere is closed. Oops, the lens is heading in an unexpected direction. It follows smoothly in follow mode, so it takes some getting used to. . . . Let’s make it seem like we’re getting closer, but first go a little further away to see the whole picture! At the end of the promenade is “Fumishima,” a famous breeding ground for black-tailed gulls that is known only to those in the know. Did you get a chill down your spine? 今回は、人生初の山陰地方を訪れた内のひとつとして、動画を作りました。

大山隠岐国立公園に属し、島根半島の最西端 日御碕の突端に立つ、海面から63.3mの日本一の高さを誇る石造の灯台を見学してきました。
　夜間には約38kmの沖合までを照らし、創建以来120年以上経った今も現役です。
　（営業時間外で昇ることはできませんでしたが）灯台の内部にはらせん階段があり、展望台からは360度のパノラマで日本海の絶景が楽しめます。
　特に夕暮れ時には、海に沈む夕日が美しく、息をのむような景色が広がります。
　さらに、灯台の周辺には断崖絶壁や「柱状節理」の珍しい地形があり、自然の造形美を散策しながら楽しむことができます。
　また、天然記念物にも指定されている、ウミネコの繁殖地の経島(ふみしま)を見る事ができます。
Part of Daisen-Oki National Park, this stone lighthouse stands at the tip of Hinomisaki, the westernmost point of the Shimane Peninsula, and is the tallest in Japan, at 63.3m above sea level.
At night, it illuminates approximately 38km offshore, and is still in use today, more than 120 years after its construction.
There is a spiral staircase inside the lighthouse (although we were unable to go up outside of opening hours), and from the observation deck you can enjoy a magnificent 360-degree panoramic view of the Sea of ​​Japan.
At dusk in particular, the sun setting over the sea is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking.
In addition, there are cliffs and rare rock formations known as “columnar joints” around the lighthouse, and you can enjoy this natural beauty while strolling around.
You can also see “Fumishima”, a breeding ground for black-tailed gulls, which has been designated a natural monument.

◆歴史
　出雲日御碕灯台は、明治36年（1903年）に設置されました。日本の技術者によって設計・施工され、石造り灯台として完成しました。
　当時の日本では外国人技師の助けを借りることが多かったのですが、この灯台は完全に日本人の手によるものです。
　その後も約120年にわたり、日本海を航行する船舶の安全を守り続けています。
◆History
Izumo Hinomisaki Lighthouse was established in 1903. It was designed and constructed by Japanese engineers, and was completed as a stone lighthouse.
In those days, Japan often sought the help of foreign engineers, but this lighthouse was built entirely by Japanese hands.
It has continued to protect the safety of ships sailing through the Sea of ​​Japan for about 120 years since then.
