This time, I will introduce a stay at “arcana izu” in Nakaizu. An auberge nestled in the forest. The concept is “a forest getaway where the five senses resonate.” All rooms have their own open-air bath with water flowing directly from the source. During your stay, you will be served by a butler. Upon arrival, we were greeted by several staff members. I’ve always wanted to stay here, so I’m really looking forward to it. Pass through the entrance to your room for today. Check-in is done in your room. Beyond the greenery, you will find a two-story accommodation building. This time, we chose the “River Wing Suite” room type. Let’s go inside. The living room has a large sofa and a low table. Enjoy the luxury of doing nothing while gazing at the natural scenery outside the window. The soft leather sofa is so comfortable that you’ll want to take a long nap. The decor is deliberately understated to emphasize the sense of unity with nature. The view of the Kano River spreads out across the windows. Enjoy the view from the sofa or the bed. Refresh your throat with a cool welcome drink. Choose from cocktails or soft drinks The welcome sweets are also delicious Inside the leather box under the key, you will find a novel by Maha Harada and a watercolor painting set. There is a closet on the right side of the entrance. There is no TV or clock so you can relax and forget about time. Instead, you can listen to music. Drinks in the refrigerator are included in the room rate. Glasses and cups are provided in pairs. Electric kettle and Nespresso machine. The back of the living room is the bedroom. You can see the open-air bath from the terrace. The bed is a Hollywood twin type. You can call the butler with the push of a button. Behind the bed is a washroom and toilet. Turn-down service is available at dinner time, and towels are also replaced. Comfortable bathrobes Loungewear is separate top and bottom Amenities are provided. The hair dryer is a ReproNizer 4Dplus. There is a toilet behind the sink. Air purifier with heating function Sunlight shines in through the small window above. On the opposite side is a shower booth, and beyond that is the terrace. La CASTA body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Let’s go out to the terrace. What a wonderful location! You can feel nature all over your body. The open-air bath is fed directly from the source and is regulated to 40-42 degrees Celsius. At the back of the terrace are tables and chairs. This is the perfect spot for a beer after bathing. All you can hear is the sound of flowing water, birds singing, and the wind rustling through the trees and grass. You can adjust the temperature with hot and cold water valves. The lotion along the river is really soothing. Let me introduce the restaurant first. We were given a special tour of the interior before dinner. As soon as you enter, there is a large wine cellar on the right with a considerable number of bottles stored. There seems to be a wide selection of alcoholic beverages other than wine. Large windows and high ceilings create an open and airy space. Behind the counter are tables lined up side by side. From the windows, you can see greenery all around. There are many maple trees, so I imagine it must be even more beautiful in autumn when the leaves change color. We’re back in our room. Now, let’s go to the hot spring. The water is from the Yugashima hot spring source. It’s long and spacious, so even adults can stretch their legs. The water is soft, so you can soak in it slowly. Since it’s a free-flowing spring, there are no insects floating in the open-air bath, which is nice. This is a moment of pure bliss. It warms you right down to your core. I’ll have a beer after my bath. Craft beer from the refrigerator. The glass is cute. It’s time for dinner, so we’re heading to the restaurant. We were greeted by many staff members. This inn is highly rated for its food, so I’ve been looking forward to it. The menu is simple, listing only the ingredients, which makes it fun to imagine what the dishes will be like. For the main course, we chose Izu beef and the recommended local fish. For drinks, we chose wine pairing. The pairing starts with champagne. The sommelier explains everything carefully. The description of the first tapas dish is handwritten by the chef. Something amazing has been delivered! The visual is far beyond imagination…!

The dish is like a swing in the forest, with bite-sized tapas arranged on top. This swing is also handmade by the chef…! The chef’s creativity amazes us from the very first dish. While waiting for the next dish, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation. The next dish has been served. The butter has a refreshing lemon flavor and is delicious. The second glass is white wine. The red shrimp is plump and has a rich sweetness that is very delicious. The third glass is also white wine. The risotto with seaweed and clams has a hint of garlic. The natural mushroom jelly is the chef’s special. The fourth glass is rosé wine. Colorful wild herbs and flowers are a feast for the eyes. Today’s recommended local fish is red sea bream. A little extra cheese, please. Another unusual dish… When you lift the fork-shaped handle, you find dessert inside. The presentation is fun until the very end. It was a meal that stimulated all five senses. The atmosphere is different at night, which is also nice. One more beer before bed. I’ll take a deep breath of the morning air. The morning bath feels great. It’s time for breakfast. What a wonderful morning. Seat yourself at the counter near the large glass window. You can choose your favorite cooking method and ingredients for your egg dish. You can choose any drinks you like, as many as you like. I chose yogurt, mandarin orange, and carrot juice. The concept is “picnic in the forest.” The presentation is beautiful…! It’s fun to look at. And fresh seasonal vegetables. The vegetables are served with this dip sauce. Squid, mentaiko, and komatsuna omelet Shirasu, tomato, and cabbage omelet It was a fun, delicious, and wonderful breakfast. Check-out is at 1:00 p.m. We enjoyed the hot springs, read books, took naps, and spent a relaxing time. We were able to relax from the bottom of our hearts.
