【4K Walk】Mt. Koya in Spring Part 2: Sacred Day Trip from Osaka | Easy Walks Japan Vol.5
Hello everyone, konnichiwa! Thank you for watching our video. Today, we visit “Koyasan” or Mt. Koya in Wakayama, Japan – where is a part of world heritage “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range”. We start walking around Okuno-in area. This area has a place where is believed that Kukai, the highest monk built Koyasan in 8th century, is still living. Enjoy 30-minite walk with refreshing scenery! We are approaching Okuno-in. You can see Gokusho and Gomado buildings. The sound of bells and voices of prayers are near. These songs are played by pilgrims for spiritual benefits. If we turn right here, the Kobodaishi Gobyo, the building Kukai is living will appear. But filming there is prohibited because of its sanctity. We are approaching Ichino hashi bridge. It is kind of the gateway of the Okuno-in. We have moved to the Kongobuji main temple area. Cherry blossom was beautifully blooming. There are cafes and restaurants in Koyasan, here is one of them and relatively easy to access for everyone. We ordered vegetarian curry meal and dashi-chazuke (broth poured rice) meal, with sesame tofu. Sesame tofu is one of the specialties of Koyasan. Here is Reihokan museum. Here are many shakunage trees which bloom in springs. This year the weather was a little slow, so many of them were not blooming yet. Thank you for watching our video. If you like this walk or are interested in the other parts of Koyasan, part 1 is also uploaded in this channel. Please subscribe, like and leave a comment to support our channel. See you in the next video!
