Crossing the bridge has the meaning of purifying and purifying the body. Beyond the bridge is Japan’s largest “Sword of Peace”. Touch the sword and pray for peace. In the right hand of the Sword of Peace, there is a wisteria flower, although the season has passed. Autumn leaves next to the shrine gate. I’m looking forward to autumn. Also, at the back of the Chozuya. There is also a precinct shrine to the left of the shrine gate. “Kodai Toyouke Shrine”. Enshrines the god of Ise Jingu. Furthermore, on the left side of the approach just before the shrine gate is Yasaka Shrine. And this is the “May Pilgrimage (Reiwa 7) “Carp Streamer” that I received on the day. The latest goshuin information will be posted on the shrine’s official Instagram. Next, leave Shirasagi Shrine and head to Shimono Yakuyoke Daishi. Walk south along the path that continues straight from the front of the approach. Turn right at this traffic light while looking at the map on your phone. Then there was a bus stop! From here, board the bus bound for Ishibashi Station. This is the bus coming from the Moka office direction. The frequency is once every 1-2 hours, so be careful of the time. After getting off the train, walk west along the road leading from the west exit of Ishibashi Station. Then, you will cross National Route 4 at the Ishibashi signal, so turn right and head north. Turn left at this traffic light while looking at the map on your phone. As the road curves gently to the right, you will see a large maneki cat on your left. Arrived at Shimono Yakuyoke Daishi. This time, we pray for financial luck and business success… Also, take a walk inside the temple grounds from the left side of the main hall to the back. Immediately after that, there was “Zeniarai Bentendo”. A colander was provided so I was able to wash my coins. If you go further in, you will find a graveyard, so if you proceed quietly, you will find “Eitai Memorial Hall” and “Sengen Shrine” to the right of it. Return to the front of the main hall, and on the left hand side of the approach is the Kongo Sword. “Omokaru stone”. Lift up the top stone of the lantern. Near the Niomon gate is the “Boke-blocking Kanzeon Bodhisattva”. Next, walk around the temple grounds on the right hand side of the approach. The goshuin I received on the day was “May 2020 ‘Wisteria Flower'”. The latest goshuin information is posted on the temple’s official Instagram. We also received some hand-me-down sweets on the day. Thank you. Next, we decided to head to “Hoshimiya Shrine” after “Shimono Yakuyoke Daishi”. In the opposite direction to the station. Walk north and turn left at this traffic light. After a short walk, take the path that immediately turns to the right. The place with deep greenery that you can see a little ahead is “Hoshimiya Shrine”. You can see the shrine’s torii gate and approach to the shrine on your right. We have arrived. Hoshimiya Shrine 3rd location 11:30 am It boasts a long history, having been founded in 807. The Chozuya is on the right hand side on the way to the shrine. I look forward to seeing the decorations that match the season and season each time. You can see a snake rope at the torii gate of Hoshimiya Shrine. Since the snake sheds its skin, it represents resurrection and rebirth, and is a symbol of longevity, wealth accumulation, and nature. It is said that if you touch it, you will be blessed with good luck and money. The deities enshrined here are “Iwazakami,” “Nesakigami,” and “Kazusushikami.” It is believed to be a god that wards off evil spirits and guides good fortune. There is also a “snake rope” at the shrine. This is a valuable shimenawa that can only be seen at a few companies in the surrounding area. Next, take a walk inside the shrine grounds from the left side to the back! At the back of the worship hall is the “main shrine” where the god is actually enshrined. You can go around the back side of the main shrine, so it was also possible to visit the back side. Behind it are “Senkatsu Shrine”, which is said to improve your luck in games, and “Osugi Shrine”, which protects you from epidemics. There is a large ginkgo tree in front of the awarding place. It turns golden yellow in autumn. Below the shrine is the “Tenchi Stone.” Ride on the stone and lift the iron array to receive power. “Shimotsuke Yume Fukujin” eats evil spirits and weapons and gives happiness and peace. There is also a small shrine in front of the Chozuya! “Sarutahiko Shrine”. Divine virtue of good luck, longevity, and traffic safety. Also, on the left side of the entrance to the shrine grounds, there is something with that anime as a motif. When I went through the stomach, a tunnel continued. It’s a fun tunnel where you can meet anime characters. And this is the “May Moon Shrine Goshuin (Reiwa 7)” that I received on the day. The latest goshuin information can be found on the shrine’s official website. After “Hoshimiya Shrine”, we will continue on to “Mamata Hachiman Shrine”. There is Wakabayashi bus stop about 15 minutes walk away, and there are buses to Ishibashi station and Toy no Machi station. There aren’t many of them, so it’s hard to find the right time. So I walked through the rice fields where rice planting had begun and headed for Ishibashi Station. I walked there for about 40 minutes. Arrived at Ishibashi Station. Go to the platform for Omiya, Ueno, and Shinjuku. During the day on weekdays, there are 3 trains per hour. If a rapid train arrives, it will not stop at Mamata, so you can change trains at Oyama. After getting off at Mamata Station, head towards the west exit. After exiting the west exit, walk to the left. On this day, we had lunch at this popular curry restaurant. It was so delicious that I came back for the first time since visiting Amido Shrine. Ordered the curry set. You can choose from 7 types of curry. For drinks, I ordered mango lassi! Then, I ordered chicken curry with a large naan. The naan is big, but it’s delicious, so you can finish it in no time. With our bellies full, we can resume our goshuin tour! When I returned to Mamata Station, a community bus was just coming so I got on it. O-bus bound for Oyama Station. The frequency is once every 1.5 to 2 hours. Take the bus to Mamada 5-chome bus stop. Please note that payment is only in cash. Once you get off at the Mamada 5-chome bus stop, go back the way the bus came and take the road that immediately turns to the right. We have arrived. Mamada Hachimangu Shrine 4th place 2:30 pm “Ni-no-Torii”. Built in 1713, it is the oldest structure at the shrine. If you go up the stone steps again, you will reach the shrine building. The guardian dog you see just after going up the stone steps was dedicated in 1856. The “haiden” is a building that was rebuilt in 1851. On the right side of the shrine, where you can see many carvings , are three Quercus trees that are estimated to be 170 years old. A dedicated children’s sumo tournament is held at the annual autumn festival. “Having a safe return” will bring you blessings for recovery from illness and safe travel! Benten Pond is on the right hand side of the approach. One of them is Itsukushima Shrine. God of water, music, entertainment, beauty, and financial luck. There is a “Basho haiku monument” by the pond. Dedicated in 1853. “Yoritomo’s hand-planted pine tree”. The current pine tree is the third generation. “Chikaraishi”. It is said to weigh approximately 110 kg. A cat played in front of the awarding place. And, I received the “Monthly Goshuin for May (Reiwa 7) Jagamaita” that I received on the day. Check the shrine’s official website for the latest goshuin information. This time, we ended our goshuin tour at Mamada Hachimangu Shrine. If you continue straight on the road in front of the approach, you will see the first torii gate just before National Route 4. Turn right at the traffic light at Mamada 4-chome and head towards Tokyo on National Route 4. If the timing of the bus is right, the O bus you took earlier is convenient. Next, turn left at the traffic light at the entrance of Mamata Station. Arrived at Mamata Station. It’s about a 35 minute walk. The number of steps I took on this day was 24,600, which is a lot. I was on my way home feeling moderately tired.
