Travel Vlog | Back in Japan • Exploring the Golden Route, Hiroshima, Fukuoka & Nagoya (subbed)

Japan | travel archives.
(subtitles available in ‘CC’) I went to Japan for vacation back in November 2024 & never
got a chance to put this travel vlog together until now.
I hope you’ll enjoy it! @Tokyo, Japan This time I’m back in Japan with my parents & in-laws. We took it easy on our first day.
(I didn’t vlog much this day) @Momiji Waterfall
Minato City, Tokyo We stopped at a park right by the Tokyo Tower.
It was perfect for a morning stroll. @Arabica
Azabudai Hills 4F Did you know they also sell basic donuts from “I’m donut ?” here? They weren’t super busy when I went around 10:30am. Afterwards, we went to check out TeamLab Borderless.
(We still like TeamLab Planets more.) My first gashapon (capsule toy) on this trip.
(I’ve had my eyes on this series.) We’re on our way to visit the lucky cat temple. @Gotokuji temple
Setagaya City, Tokyo The temple is a short walk from the station.
(About 10-15 minutes) I personally thought the walk was enjoyable.
The temple gave off a peaceful & serene vibe. @RARASAND
Setagaya City, Tokyo I was captivated by the delicious smell & cuteness.
The sponge cakes were a nice morning treat. (Not too sweet 👌) @onibus coffee
Meguro City, Tokyo We made a mid-day stop at this coffee shop.
I’ve been wanting to come here! I was lucky enough to get a seat facing the train rails.
This was one of my favorite break spots on the trip! @Mitsuyado Seimen
Meguro City, Tokyo My parents & I had their yuzu tsukemen for lunch.
It was delicious & perfect on a warm day! It was our last night in Tokyo for this leg of the trip.
We went to eat yakiniku in Akabane for dinner. We took the Shinkansen in the morning.
Our next destinations: Kyoto, Osaka & Nara! @Kyoto Station @yayoi Ken
Minami Ward, Kyoto After arriving in Kyoto, we all took a nap before
my parents & I split up from my husband & in-laws for dinner. This was a simple & comforting meal.
My parents really enjoyed it! @Arashiyama
Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto We took our parents to Arashiyama to visit
the bamboo forest & monkey park. @Arashiyama Monkey Park
Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto We ended up going back to YAYOI KEN for lunch 😂 We’re heading to Nara today! @Nara Deer Park
Zoshicho, Nara After seeing the deers, we walked towards the
famous mochi shop in Nara. @Nakatanidou
Hashimotocho, Nara This mochi was worth the hype! @Chami
Tsunofurishinyacho, Nara I stopped at this coffee shop for a pick-me-up, while my mom
& mother-in-law went to a bakery across the street. The latte was pretty good.
I recommend checking this cafe out! On the metro heading to our next stop. @Dotonbori
Chuo Ward, Osaka We had yakiniku for lunch & then I took my parents
to try takoyaki for the first time. @Kurasu Kyoto Stand
Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto Our hotel was right across the street from this coffee shop.
I had bookmarked the cafe without knowing it was so close by 😅 It was my parents’ last day in Japan with us before
we go our separate ways. We went to the Fushimi Inari shrine & Golden Pavilion.
(I didn’t film much because it was crowded.) @The Roots of all evil.
Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto We met up with a couple of friends for cocktails.
The best drink was the matcha cocktail called “The Melting Pot.” @Rocking Chair
Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto We grabbed a few more drinks at Rocking Chair.
The atmosphere was very cozy. I took my parents to the airport in the morning. I’m taking the Shinkansen to meet up my husband
& in-laws in Hiroshima. @Hiroshima After my husband picked me up from the station,
we walked around Hiroshima & stumbled upon this bar area. We decided to grab a drink at one of the bars.
We enjoyed the lively atmosphere! Afterwards, we walked into a restaurant serving
Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. Everything was delicious! @Atomic Bomb Dome
Naka Ward, Hiroshima The next morning we decided to walk around the
atomic dome. There’s an indescribable feeling of tranquility & peace here. @miyajima We took a boat to Miyajima island.
The ride was about 1 hour or so. @Itsukushima Shrine
Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima
(The famous Floating Torii Gate) @Shibaisaryo Mizuha
Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima We saw this restaurant served anago (conger eel) & decided to
have lunch here. The soba was refreshing & everything was delicious!
It took a while for our meal to arrive though. Oyster croquet & oyster chowder.
Both were tasty! @Hiroshima Castle
Naka Ward, Hiroshima
We quickly visited Hiroshima Castle, but didn’t go inside. @24/7 coffee&roaster
Naka Ward, Hiroshima The coffee here was good, but we loved their donuts!
My husband said it was one of the most memorable donut he’s had 🤭 *Bye, Hiroshima!* @Fukuoka We arrived in Fukuoka late in the afternoon.
(I made a couple of big purchases right away 😝👜🛍️) @Saboten
Hakata Ward, Fukuoka
My father in-law wanted to eat dinner here. I ordered the katsu don & it was delicious!
I really enjoyed the endless cabbage salad too 🤤 @Bread, Espresso & Hakata
Hakata Ekimae, Fukuoka @Dazaifu
Fukuoka Today we’re exploring Dazaifu. The Starbucks here is known for this beautifully designed architectural piece
& the interior is a blend of modern elements with Japanese charm. It’s nice & peaceful here. I think setting aside a half day is enough time to explore
everything at the temple & nearby street vendors. @Sushi Shogun
Chuo Ward, Fukuoka We walked around the Shintencho shopping district & stopped by
Sushi Shogun for a quick lunch. This place did not disappoint 🤤 @Pork Tamago Onigiri
Chou-ku, Fukuoka
Starting the day off with breakfast here.
The onigiri were pretty tasty & hearty. @Nanzoin Temple
Sasaguri, Fukuoka If you come to Fukuoka, you have to make a visit to this temple. The temple is known for the large reclining Buddha, but the entire
temple is constructed so beautifully! This temple is by far one of my top favorites out
of all the temples I’ve visited in Japan so far. The reclining Buddha was under restoration, but we were
still able to see most of it. This temple enforces you to cover your legs & arms.
They have cloths for you to cover your legs if you forget. Time to head back to Hakata. @FUK Coffee
Hakata Ward, Fukuoka I ordered an iced hojicha latte & my husband ordered the
seasonal chestnut latte. I can’t wait to come back & try their other
coffee options! @Hakata Kawabata
Dosanko (main store)
Hakata Ward, Fukuoka The ramen here was delicious & you must order a side of fried rice!
(Most of the customers ordered it along with their ramen.) @Olga Le Bon Bon Donuts
Hakata Ward, Fukuoka This donut shop had a lot of flavors & options!
(We went in the late afternoon, so some items were sold out.) Goods have been secured. I got the passion fruit filled donut & my husband got a traditional
donut with peanuts (I can’t remember the flavor). @Yatai Keiji
Chuo Ward, Fukuoka You must visit a yatai (mobile food stall) when
you’re in Fukuoka! We came to Abe-san’s (owner) yatai because my husband saw
a documentary of him on YouTube. He was friendly & everything we ordered was delicious! I recommend lining up early before he opens so you can
get a seat in the first round seatings. There are a lot of other yatais if you can’t
make it to Abe-san’s. We ended the night at a random bar we found
on our way back to the hotel. @Ohori Park
Chuo Ward, Fukuoka This park is perfect for a morning stroll.
The pavilion is one of the main attraction here. *Hello!👋* The Christmas lights were set up on the second
to last day we were in Fukuoka. We had sukiyaki for dinner, but I forgot
the name of the restaurant we went to 😅 @The Full Full Hakata
Hakata Ward We picked up the mentaiko bread for our train ride to Nagoya.
My husband & I thought it was okay. @Nagoya
We made it to Nagoya! @Nagoya Castle
Naka Ward We’re only in Nagoya for a short time, so we’re trying
to see, do & eat as much as we can during this time. @Oasis 21
Higashi Ward @Kannon Coffee Osu
Naka Ward Taking a coffee break here. @TrUNK COFFEE & CRAFT BEER
Naka Ward
In the evening, we went bar hopping at a few places… This bar served coffee & beer.
It’s the best of both worlds for my husband & I. We walked into a random izakaya to have a quick snack.
We loved how lively the bar was! We bought dinner at a supermarket…
Let’s just say our eyes were bigger than our stomachs 😅 It’s our last morning in Nagoya, but we’re
grabbing coffee before we leave. @Syphon Coffee & Tea Space
Nakamura Ward I love all the bonsais. We both ordered a sweet dish & coffee.
The barista gave us tips on how to take an aesthetic photo with the bonsai tree! I ordered their seasonal persimmon dessert with red bean paste.
It was perfect with the coffee. *Bye, Nagoya! Until next time!* We’re on our way to Mt. Fuji! @AWAUMI
Fujikawaguchiko Resort
We’re staying one night at this camp ground.
(You can customize your bath salt at this table) This glamp site was so beautiful!
I already want to make plans to come back. Our first *home* cooked meal during this trip. It’s time to leave Mt Fuji & make our
way to Yokohama. @Minton house
Naka Ward We arrived in Yokohama around the evening
and decided to check out a bar across from the laundry mat. It’s a dive bar with jazz vibes ✨ @Azabudai Hills
Minato City, Tokyo My husband booked tickets online in advance for the
POKÉMON X KOGEI exhibit. I was amazed to see how these artists incorporated
Pokémon into beautiful works of art! ‘
@Pomme’s
Akiba 8F, Chiyoda City I was craving omurice, so we decided to eat at Pomme’s. They have a lot of options! I ordered #15 with the demi-glaze sauce
& my husband ordered #26 with the tomato sauce. @Lost Bar
Grand Tokyo-FL 2, Shibuya After an afternoon of exploring & shopping, we
went to check out a speakeasy my husband was interested in. Round 1: Like a Magic Mule & the seasonal special cocktail Round 2: Piña Colada & the Go F*ck Yourself @UNI COFFEE ROASTERY
Naka Ward, Yokohama Another day, another coffee. Pumpkin latte & salted caramel latte.
The pumpkin latte was not too sweet & perfectly tasty. @Shinjuku After we walked around parts of Tokyo, we stopped by here to check
out the inside kabukicho. Little did I know this plate would give me food poisoning… It’s my last full day in Japan & I woke up not feeling great… I told my husband to enjoy the day without me.
(Don’t mind the messy room) I stayed in the hotel all morning to rest a bit. I felt a little better by the afternoon, so I went out to walk around. @Yokohama Station @Soup Stock Tokyo
Nishi Ward, Yokohama The eggplant curry and tomato bisque combo.
Soup Stock Tokyo is one of my fast go-to meals. I went to a Starbucks in Akihabara to meet up my husband.
At this point, I started to feel physically exhausted. After this, I spent the next day in the hotel bed until
it was time to catch my flight. The food poisoning kicked in on the last day.. I hope you enjoyed this travel diary.
Until next time!!!

On this trip I revisited the Golden Route (Tokyo, Osaka, Nara & Kyoto), went glamping in Mt Fuji, and explored around Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Nagoya.

It has been a while since I last uploaded, but I hope you’ll enjoy this travel vlog from my archives!
