Kyoto is a place where the history and nature of an ancient capital are in harmony. There are many famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Kyoto. I have visited over 80 cherry blossom viewing spots in Kyoto so far. We will introduce 30 carefully selected spots from among them. “Omurozakura” at Ninnaji Temple. A five-storied pagoda peeking out above a sea of ​​clouds covered with 200 cherry blossom trees. Omurozakura, known for its late blooming, is short and produces pale pink flowers. Omuro cherry blossoms are fragrant, and a sweet scent wafts around them. Red weeping cherry blossoms in front of the five-storied pagoda. Omurozakura’s flowers are characterized by being one size larger than other cherry blossoms. Kondo-mae A tree commemorating the battle against Ryuo, fought by Sota Fujii. Yodogawa Sewari Embankment. Approximately 220 Yoshino cherry trees create a cherry blossom tunnel spanning approximately 1.4 km. One of Kyoto’s most popular spots, attracting around 150,000 people every year. Sewaritei is a national park located at the confluence of the Kizugawa and Ujigawa rivers. Approximately 500 Yoshino cherry trees are in full bloom along the approximately 1.5 km path along the Lake Biwa Canal. “Flower rafts” are made of cherry blossom petals spread on the river surface. Approximately 450 cherry blossoms of about 20 different types are planted on a site of about 4,000 tsubo. It is famous for its red weeping cherry blossoms, and the garden is covered in deep pink. The Konoe residence ruins located in the northwest part of Kyoto Gyoen National Garden are famous. It has long been known as a famous spot for “Itozakura”.
