【ホテル宿泊記】スペインバルセロナのマンダリンでスイートルーム滞在 グルメやSPA、周辺観光まで詳細レビュー 【Mandarin Oriental Barcelona】

This time, I will write about the stay at a luxury hotel I stayed at during my trip to Barcelona, Spain. I came by train from Madrid. It takes about 15 minutes by car from Barcelona Sants Train Station. “Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona” approach is great. Cross the bridge and proceed to an elegant other world. We were greeted with a welcome drink. This is a stylish interior, a complete departure from the atmosphere of Madrid’s Mandarin. All the staff greet you warmly and with a smile, making you feel at ease. After checking in, I went to my room while being guided around the building. This is the restaurant where you can have breakfast. It has a cool linear design. I will stay here for 2 nights. We also plan to enjoy dinner, lunch, and a spa. It’s located on Passeig de Gràcia, the main street in Barcelona, and Gaudi’s architecture is right next door, so I’m leaving tomorrow. My room is on the third floor, right after getting off the elevator. The ceiling of the guest room floor is very high. Let’s start the room tour. Each mandarin has a different fan pattern. Barcelona is here. Sorry to bother you. I was shocked at how vast it was. Welcome amenities are laid out on the table as soon as you enter. This is a 123 square meter room called “Premier Suite”. Very spacious living room. It is decorated with a unique interior. It’s so cute how the colors are created using accessories. Patricia Urquiola, a world-famous Spanish female architect, is in charge of everything from the inside of the building to the interiors of the rooms. This wonderful chair was also designed by her. There is a bedroom in the back. If you look to the back, you will find a very spacious bathroom. This spaciousness and tranquility in the center of Barcelona. What a luxury! Separate bathtub. A spacious shower and toilet. At the back of the bathroom is a spacious walk-in closet. Opposite that is a dresser that is also spacious. Next to the bedroom was a desk. Everywhere you look, it’s stylish and perfect. It’s fun to see the difference between the palace-like, classic Mandarin of Madrid and the modern, urban Mandarin of Barcelona. It’s really fun to see the uniqueness of each hotel. It’s so spacious that I get excited and walk around the room. All the accessories in the room are really nice. Careful designs can be seen everywhere. Each room has artwork, and if you like it, you can purchase it. Is this a minibar? Let’s take a look. Turndown specification allows C&S to be used immediately. I never thought I would encounter NIKKA whisky, in a foreign country far away from Japan. Overall simple and functional. There are lots of treats in the drawer, including original snacks. The chocolate is made by the world-renowned pastry chef Jordi Roca at “Casa Cacao”, and when you open the bottom of it, you’ll find a refrigerator. Reliable standard drinks and mini bottles of alcohol. Wines representing Catalonia that give you a sense of “character”. More wine in the drawer. A selection that combines quality and locality. What made me even more excited were these six types of tea. Collaboration with “Melez Tea”, a tea brand from Turkey. When you open it, it looks like this. I’m looking forward to drinking it. The bedroom also has a turndown design. The pictures on the wall look like scenes from Japan. The water in the room is natural mineral water from the Galicia region of Spain. There is night chocolate, and the items around the “Casa Cacao” desk look like this. Both the desk and chair have a nice design. It’s a comfortable environment. There is a LAN, power outlet, and USB. The TV is located in the living room and bedroom. Original tote bags are available in the walk-in closet. It seems that the motif is the sidewalk tiles of Barcelona. In front of the bathroom, there is a dresser on the right and a walk-in closet on the left. No matter how many times I look at it, the bathroom is spacious and luxurious. The black glass tightens the space and looks cool. There is a large mirror on the side of the bathtub, making it feel even more spacious. There are two sinks. This area has a somewhat natural atmosphere. There is a hair dryer and hair iron in the drawer. Beautiful curved bathtub. The yellow accent color on the table is cute. Amenities include “Miriamquevedo”, a luxury skin care brand from Barcelona. Finally, there is a toilet. It comes with a bidet and has an elaborate design. And a shower room. It’s very spacious. The shampoos also contain miriamquevedo caviar! Now, let’s all enjoy dinner. I came to the hotel’s “Moments,” a special seat where you can enjoy a view of the kitchen from a large window. It’s a mysterious space with an urban feel and a slightly futuristic feel. Maps of wine producing regions in Catalonia were distributed. While watching this, listen to the sommelier’s story. I’m going to enjoy the pairing tonight. First of all, CAVA aged for 5 years.Delicate bubbles and an aged aroma like freshly baked bread. Supervised by Carme Ruscajeda, a symbol of the Spanish culinary world who has received seven stars worldwide. His son Raul is in charge of the kitchen and is currently leading Moments. A clearly written menu. I’m looking forward to seeing what the content will be like. A small menu was also available for takeaway. We started with a dish covered in smoke. A performance that can be enjoyed with all five senses. I’m excited. The combination of Catalan bread “coca” sea bream, caviar, and mato cheese with seaweed is innovative. Next was a plate of shrimp and a sausage called “butifara”. A classic Catalan combination of sea and mountains. The pottery looks like Kintsugi and is wonderful. Bread will be distributed and the hotel’s original extra virgin oil will also be served. This is so delicious. It was fruity and had a sweet taste. Next came sake. This product was jointly developed by a sake brewery in Yamaguchi Prefecture and a fragrance expert. Next, one pea. And a simple cup. Green peas are the star of spring in Catalonia. Soup was poured into the cup. I received a simple dish that can only be found at this time of year. The next drink was a Chardonnay from a place called Alella. It has a slight oak aroma and is very delicious. Now, the next menu is cod brandade with a spicy sauce called green mole. The atmosphere is like a fusion of the Mediterranean and Central and South America. It looks gorgeous and delicious. And a dish using artichokes and sea cucumbers, which are popular winter ingredients on the Mediterranean coast. Arrangement is an art. The texture is pleasant, and it’s a taste you can only get here. The red wine is Priorat. It has a profound feel, but the aftertaste is loose. The fish dish is pil pil, a combination of flounder and calçots with miso. You will fall in love with this dish that combines aroma and softness. The main course was deer loin and truffle-flavored parsnip. It has a moist rosé color, and the more you bite into it, the more happiness you will feel. It’s time for some fun cheese. Each step was explained very carefully. All are the best I like. The first dessert item was “calamansi”, a citrus fruit from Southeast Asia, yuzu, and grilled lemon. I squinted my eyes at the refreshing dessert, which had multiple citrus fruits layered on top of each other. Finish off with coffee, beets, Jerusalem artichoke, and cacao. It was like a dream. Thank you for the meal. And good night. good morning. It’s the morning of the second day in Barcelona. I want to look out the window, which I couldn’t see last night. It’s great to have a balcony where you can go outside. The morning sun feels good. What you can see from here is the “Mimosa Garden” in the hotel’s courtyard, an outdoor space surrounded by greenery that is hard to believe that it is located in the center of the city. In the summer, it will be open to the public as a lounge and pool. During the winter, I was quietly waiting for the next season. Objects in the shape of animals are scattered throughout the courtyard. This is a production typical of Barcelona, where nature and art coexist. Planted with mimosa trees and other Mediterranean plants, it is designed as a place to take a breather. I’ll have breakfast. Head under the atrium at the back of the lobby. All-day dining restaurant “Blanc” has chairs of various shapes, which is interesting. Just like “Moments,” where we visited for dinner, Carme Ruscajeda’s philosophy is alive and well here. High ceilings, decorative panels with geometric motifs. It looks like a buffet and an order menu. There are also egg dishes, bagels, pancakes, and ice cream. The buffet looks like this. It’s stylish. Craft breads are lined up and there is also a hot chocolate machine. Prosciutto ham sliced from logs and served. A luxurious corner with cheeses from all over Spain, such as “Manchego” and “Idiazabal.” Spain’s classic aged sausages such as “salchichón” and “jamon yoke.” Lots of cereal and milk. There are many types of jam and honey. Fresh juice and yogurt. There are also plenty of sweet breads. Everything looks very delicious. Stylishly shaped danish, blueberry muffin. There are also brownies and bagels. There is also a corner for wellness-minded guests. vegetable sticks and fruits. Classic scrambled eggs and fragrant bacon. This morning’s coffee was Spanish style, with plenty of milk. For the order menu, I ordered avocado toast. It was a good breakfast filled with Spanish flavors here and there. From here, we will introduce you to the inside of the facility, lunch, spa, bar, etc. There are fans symbolizing each city in Mandarin around the world, and this is Barcelona’s fan. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, who also designed the entire hotel. It embodies the modern, quiet strength typical of this city. The hotel was once used as a bank. It features reliefs by the sculptor Frédéric Mares. A slope leading from the hotel entrance. You will feel disconnected from outside time. The atrium extends to the 9th floor, allowing natural light to pour in. There is an art gallery below that anyone can freely enjoy. A lobby space that combines lines, light, and natural materials. Calm color scheme and soft lighting. The mirror on the ceiling is impressive. The flow of traffic is a little strange, perhaps because it has been renovated, but it feels like art. Here, I will give a room tour of the room where my son is staying ♪ A 53 square meter room called “Mandarin Junior Suite”. It has a more natural atmosphere compared to my room. It’s functional and the design of the sink is great. The toilet does not have a bidet, the amenities are common, and the necessary items are arranged without waste, making it a comfortable space. We were also shown other rooms. This is a 78 square meter room called “Deluxe Suite”. It is stylish and well-organized, and there is also a spacious veranda. This is a 236 square meter room called “Penthouse Suite” on the top floor. There is a very large terrace overlooking Passeig de Gràcia. It’s very luxurious. There is also a rooftop where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Barcelona skyline, as well as authentic Peruvian cuisine and cocktails. I can see the sea. Admire Montjuic Hill, the Statue of Victory and the city’s symbols. You can also see Sagrada Familia. Here I would like to share with you a little bit about what happened when I went sightseeing. This is the view when you step out into town. The best location in Barcelona. Passeig de Gracia is Barcelona’s leading shopping street. It’s a beautiful boulevard lined with modern architecture and luxury boutiques. I arrived here by walking straight down the main street for about 400 meters. Gaudi’s late masterpiece, “Casa Mila”, has a beautiful organic curve that looks like it was carved out of stone. It’s so beautiful. The weather was nice that day, and it felt really nice on the rooftop. It doesn’t take long to travel, so you can enjoy it at your leisure. Furthermore, this is right in front of the hotel. “Casa Patllo” This is also a fantastic mansion built by Gaudi and with a sea motif. Of course, Sagrada Familia, these two places are also must-see spots. Details of the sightseeing are provided in a separate video. Please take a look. Return to the hotel and it’s time for lunch♪ Enjoy breakfast at “Blanc”. Cheers with CAVA from the long-established “Mestres”. I really like all the sake I encountered on this trip, and I’m glad I did. The start is a large olive with a hint of vermouth and orange. Next was two types of croquetta: Iberico ham and mushroom. Spanish tapas style. It looks simple, but the ingredients and taste are amazing. A Spanish classic called “Patatas Bravas”, spicy potatoes served with roasted garlic aioli. Next came the smoked sardine and tomato tartare. Top it with “Ajo Blanco,” a traditional Spanish cold almond soup. It’s a complex dish with a variety of umami flavors that go well with wine. The main dish is Suzuki. Green “dashi” style. With endive, baby potatoes and asparagus. The sauce coats the moist sea bass perfectly, making it a delicious dish. I’m happy to be able to experience Japan here as well. The dessert is a combination of pineapple flavored using osmotic pressure, mint, lime ice cream, and sugar cane gel. I was very satisfied to be able to enjoy the typical Spanish menu with the authenticity that is typical of this place. When I returned to my room very satisfied, I was surprised! Many amenities have also been added. A large fan-shaped chocolate. It looks like there are hazelnuts in there. There are also piles of fruit, potato chips, and olives. Furthermore, cheese, prosciutto, and this Gaudi-reminiscent item is a dome inspired by “Casa Patlló”, which we visited earlier. Inside is a Catalan cheesecake. It has a smooth texture and a slight salty taste. I’ll take it right away. Now, let’s go to “THE SPA” in the basement. I enjoy looking around and taking care of them. The spa area is even more tranquil and sophisticated. There was a shop corner behind the reception. Products from Swiss luxury brands “Valmont” and “Miriam Quevedo” such as branded creams and oils used for skin care. Original oil is also available. As you go further back, it gets darker and darker, and you’ll find yourself in a relaxation area. A space where you can relax before and after your treatment. A message encouraging digital detox. Drinks and fruit are provided. It’s very comfortable and feels like an oasis. I came to the pool. The fantastic blue and green light makes it look cool. The rows of reclining chairs are also very stylish. There is also a heated relaxation chair where you can relax while warming your body. This is what the locker room looks like. The tiles are impressive. As expected, this place is also sophisticated. It is fully equipped with comfortable facilities. There were also other facilities like this. A hair spa that provides innovative hair and scalp care. You can receive state-of-the-art treatments by “Miriam Quevedo,” which also serves as in-room bathroom amenities. A product containing caviar extract that provides anti-aging care from the scalp. It’s time for a fun treatment. There are also couple rooms and Thai-style suites available. Here you can heal both body and mind. A custom-made spa that combines oriental and Mediterranean healing. You can choose from 6 types of body oil according to your mood. There are six types: awakening, blooming, flourishing, opening, introspection, and quintessence. We will loosen up your body that has become tense due to stress and tension. The technique was wonderful and it was very relaxing. I would like to spend the evening at the bar with everyone who traveled with me. “Banker’s Bar” A remnant of what was once a bank. Many safe deposit boxes still remain on one wall. On the wall are specially designed bottles of very high-end tequila brands. There are traces of banks everywhere, and there are even huge safes like this. There is also a hidden terrace seat surrounded by greenery outside. You can enjoy delicious drinks here. The menu has a unique design that resembles a bond. You can enjoy tapas and light meals along with Spanish wine and cocktails. Various cocktails are introduced one page at a time. We were introduced to each flavor in detail, and we chose our favorite. I chose “PORTFINO” which is inspired by the Mediterranean Sea. We each order a drink of our choice and toast. More tapas are brought out one after another to a lively table full of travel enthusiasts. Fragrant tapas with shrimp and olives. Bite-sized airy pie. A delicious, cute, and easy-to-eat drink companion. The last one is chocolate with a Fan mark. It was a really fun time. When I returned to the room, more amenities had been added. “miriamquevedono” skin care set. I am deeply grateful for your hospitality. I’ll be leaving in the morning, so I’ll rest for a while. good night. It was still dark, but I packed my bags and headed to the lobby. I will now head to Madrid and then return to Tokyo. The elegant extraordinary life in Spain passed in the blink of an eye. You will check out and be transferred to Barcelona Sants Station. I feel sad because all the staff took good care of me. I leave the still dark Calle Garcia, thinking back on my time in Barcelona. Even though I stayed in Mandarin for a short time, I was able to deeply enjoy Barcelona’s architecture and gourmet food. Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Each city has a different face, but the one thing they all have in common is solid hospitality. I become a fan every time I visit. Thank you for watching until the end. Where should I go next? That’s it for Lily.
