Motomachi Takashimizu
Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture Oshu-kaido 74th inn, Sanbongi inn, Shida-gun, Rikuzentakuni, walking Murasaki Shrine Murasaki Shrine” was a shrine that was relocated from Nishi-Shino in Kamo, Kyoto, and was called Murasaki Daimyojin.
The deities enshrined at the shrine are Kamimusubi-no-Mikoto and Takamusubi-no-Mikoto. An interesting story is that this god is obsessed with the “purple” in his name. When the Nanbu clan passed through Motomachi (near the shrine), it rained and was terribly difficult.
The story goes that because the purple dye on his costume was so vivid, it touched the wrath of the god, whose shrine is named after the color purple. When the character for purple was changed to “mura saki,” nothing happened.
This was the origin of the name of the shrine. There are troublesome people like this. Originally, a reciprocal market was held here. This time we will head for Hachiman Shrine. Now let us return to the street and take another look at the inn. Please excuse the on-board video of this side of Motomachi. We entered Nakamachi. It appears to have been a brewing factory for Marusan Soy Sauce.
The Marusan Children’s Amusement Park is located in the back of the building, and it seems that the company was a representative of the town. The phone number is a single digit “1”. It is a building that appears to be a street store.
Was it a store related to soy sauce including koji? Ruins of Takashimizu-juku Honjin This area is the site of “Honjin Numakura-ya”. Although rusted and not clearly visible, it is said to be a guide showing the place where Emperor Meiji took a rest during his pilgrimage. Just past the post office, enter Shinmachi from Nakamachi. Hazamaya Sake Brewery is a sake brewery located in the land of famous water.
They have been making “Keisen” since 1757. (The sake itself seems to have been brewed before that.) I see “Fukugenji Temple,” so I go there. Fukugenji Temple The road in front of “Fukugenji” is the road leading to Murasaki Shrine and Hachiman Shrine.
It is built along one street off the main road. This is “Kitamura Sweets.
It is a long-established confectionery shop with a history of nearly 190 years. Takeda-ya is identified as “Takeda Fresh Fish” on the map.
We could not find any connection with the “Honjin” of the inn. Takashimizu General Branch Office, Kurihara City Shinmachi ends at the intersection of the Furukawa-Sanuma line, which is the northern entrance to Takashimizujuku. This is the second video of a stroll in Takashimizu-juku, and we will end it here.
We will post additional videos of strolling around the ruins of Takashimizu Castle, the moat park outside Takashimizu Castle, and the streets where the Takashimizu Mutual Market is held later. We hope you enjoyed it. See you later ( ^_^)/~~~~
