2025年4月16日撮影。お気付きの方もいらっしゃると思いますが、Vol.63の後に出向いて撮影した動画です。十石峠は題材として、快適なドライブと云うよりは酷道と評されるように冒険的な要素が有り、今まで触れずにいました。そもそも冬季閉鎖により通年で利用出来ない事に加えて、過去に土砂災害で夏場以降利用出来ない年も有った「不定期営業」のルートです。
最近知人より、長期連休で蓼科へバカンスの帰りに中央自動車道が大渋滞でこのルートを利用した時の話を伺うことが出来ました。本人は初めて利用、知識として「険しい峠」で「細い道」とインプットされていたようですが、渋滞が有るとは想定もしていなかったとの事です。
10代の頃より幾たびもサイクリングで訪問していた当地です。但し、群馬県側の黒川林道部分が通行止めで「引き返す」か塩の沢峠や矢弓沢林道・北沢林道？…廃道か小生の覚え違いか…へ迂回した数の方が多いルートでした。到達困難で個人的には「聖地」化しているルートに、大挙車が押し寄せている昨今、近況を確認し度訪れてみました。
急傾斜地に敷かれているため道幅は1車線の部分が大半で、すれ違いを行うには数少ない待避所しかない、昔とあまり変わらない林道の仕様です。一方、年数を重ねてより堅固な落石防護柵が設けられております。撮影当日は対向車が僅か数台と、普段の往来が少ない様子を映しております。山岳地帯を走る際は登山同様、昼夜の時間、天候、交通量を加味したルート選定に留意して欲しいものです。カーナビが普及して、迷うこと無く何処でも行くことの出来る時代ですが、ツールの情報を鵜呑みにするだけでなく、情報をベースに「考えて」行動する面白さが残るルートです。
