【松島観光】開運・縁結びの三大橋巡り!絶景にグルメ&パワースポット旅

Matsushima Trip Good morning March 2025 The weather is very nice in Sendai! Today we will be sightseeing in Matsushima. The breakfast at the hotel is attractive, but I can’t eat much in the morning, so I’ll have a light meal at Sendai Station. I had decided on this restaurant for breakfast. It’s a rice ball and ochazuke shop, but I came here after hearing that the imoni was very delicious. You can eat in. A large bowl of Miyagi-style imoni and one rice ball selected at the counter. This is my first time eating imoni, but it has a lot of ingredients. The ingredients are similar to pork soup. The daikon radish has a lot of flavor and is very delicious. The soup is also excellent. Since it has a miso flavor, adding a little shichimi would make it even more delicious. There were so many types of rice balls that it was hard to decide, so I chose Mamejiro, which was listed as the most popular. This mixed rice with edamame has a lot of flavor and is delicious. However, if I were to pair it with imoni , I might prefer unflavored white rice rice balls . A big taro appeared. This is imoni! It’s hard to tell in the video, but the bowl of imoni is really big, and just the imoni is filling. By the way, you can choose from a set of 1 or 2 rice balls. It was a very satisfying breakfast that warmed my body. To tour Matsushima, take the JR Senseki Line to Matsushima Kaigan Station. Please be careful as the Senseki Line platform is far from the ticket gate and if I moved slowly I would have missed the train. I saw a train like this on the way. It was written as Mangattan Liner. I looked into it later and found out that it was a promotion to revitalize Ishinomaki City, but the service will end in March 2025. I was lucky to finally see it. It takes about 40 minutes to arrive at Matsushima Kaigan Station. I’m heading towards my first destination, Ojima, and when I choose the shortest route, I find this tunnel! There’s a sidewalk so it’s not dangerous, but … it’s scary! We finally arrived at a quiet and peaceful place. It was about 7 minutes from the station. When visiting Oshima, we highly recommend taking the road along the coast! Ojima was once known as a sacred place for monks in training, and it is said that many monks trained here. Apparently there are countless stone Buddha statues and memorial pagodas on the island. That red bridge is Togetsukyo Bridge. There used to be a legend that once you cross this bridge, you can’t go back. It seems that Ojima was considered a sacred place and a place where the souls of the dead gathered. It is also called “Enkiri Bridge” because monks in training use this bridge to cut ties with the worldly world on land when they enter Oshima . Let’s take a walk around the island. Stone Buddhas and memorial pagodas are lined up in a rock cave that looks like it was carved out of a rock. There used to be 108 rock caves on Ojima, but it is said that about 50 remain today. The view from Ojima is scenic, but when you look inside the island, you feel a contrasting atmosphere. This tunnel is called a tunnel and is said to have been carved by hand. The “Kenbutsu-do Ruins” where Kenbutsu Shonin practiced. It is said that Kenbutsu Shonin obtained the power of the Lotus Sutra by reciting 60,000 volumes of the Lotus Sutra while holed up on Oshima Island for 12 years . The quiet rock caves have an indescribable atmosphere. There were also a series of rock caves to the south of the Kenbutsu-do Hall ruins, where a five-ring pagoda and tombstones were enshrined. The numerous tombstones give a sense of its long history. Let’s go to the southern tip of the island. I went to a hill with a nice view. A hall that houses the “Monument of Raikata.” It is said that it was built by the disciples of Raiken, who was said to be the second coming of the Buddhist monk, to pass on to future generations the virtuous deeds of Raiken . Ojima has many unpaved roads, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. There are also various stone Buddha statues and tablets that make you realize that this is a sacred island. Goju Inari Daimyojin. It is said that he is enshrined as a guardian deity to prevent maritime accidents because of the anecdote that he was saved by a white fox who had previously rescued an Edo shipping boat when it was caught in a storm . You can clearly see Togetsukyo Bridge from Shinju Inari. It’s time to return to the mundane world of land. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but the air feels soft. Although it was a small island, there were so many things to see that I ended up staying too long. There is also a reservation time for the sightseeing boat, so act quickly after this. As I walked down the road to the right from Togetsukyo Bridge, I came across this deep cut. When I saw the end of the story, I felt like I was finally able to return to the secular world. From now on, we will head to Fukuura Island on the road along the coast. After walking for about 20 minutes from Ojima, we arrived at the ticket office. It costs 200 yen for adults to cross to Fukuura Island. I bought my ticket from a vending machine inside a building with a small store. Entrance fee: 200 yen The bridge to cross to Fukuura Island is Fukuura Bridge. The total length is approximately 252 meters. Fukuura Bridge is also known as “Encounter Bridge”. It is said to be a matchmaking spot where you will be blessed with a good match if you cross. It is said that when lovers walk together, their relationship becomes stronger. It has a bright and open atmosphere unlike the Ojima I mentioned earlier. The weather is nice and the view is great. I thought I would also like to see the scenery during the autumn leaves season. It seems to take about an hour to go around Fukuura Island. The sidewalks are well-maintained and easy to walk. However, I’m a little tired from walking, so I’ll turn back at Benzaiten this time. After entering the island, I walked for about 5 minutes and arrived at Benzaiten. Benzaiten is the god of matchmaking, and there is an anecdote that if a couple comes together, Benzaiten will get jealous and force them to break up. There were several daruma dolls placed in the temple. I didn’t go to the observation deck, but there were some view spots like this along the way. It was a wonderful island with lots of camellias blooming. Next, I came to see Godaido. You will cross two transparent bridges. It’s a little scary because you can see the ocean beneath your feet, but this is said to be a warning to calm the hearts of worshipers before entering the sanctuary. Godaido is a symbolic Buddhist temple in Matsushima, rebuilt in 1604 by Date Masamune, and is said to be the oldest Momoyama building still existing in the Tohoku region. I learned later that the order in which you cross the three bridges in Matsushima is 1. Togetsukyo (farewell bridge/cutting bad ties) 2. Fukuura Bridge (encounter bridge) 3. Suikashi Bridge (matchmaking bridge) If you cross in this order and then 4. Visit Entsuin Temple, it is said that you will be blessed with a good match. On this trip, I happened to be visiting in that exact order, so I might have a good chance! I’m secretly looking forward to it. Godaido Hall GodaidoNext , we will ride a pleasure boat that goes around Matsushima Bay! The ticket price for adults is normally 1,500 yen, but with the campaign discount and online reservation discount, I was able to purchase it for 900 yen.I had time to spare, so I was relaxing in the waiting room, but there was a long line waiting to board the ship. According to advance information, seats on the right side are recommended, but I don’t think it would be possible with this number of people. The seats on the right were occupied, but I was able to sit in the window seat on the left. Matsushima island hopping sightseeing boat “Niomaru Course.” It’s a 17km cruise that takes approximately 50 minutes to go around Matsushima Bay. It was a lot of fun as they explained each of the islands that could be seen from the boat, but as expected, most of the highlights were concentrated on the right side, so I wasn’t able to take many videos, but I’ll share a little bit with you. It is said that Date Masamune was so impressed by the beautiful shape of this island that he said , “If I have anything to carry that island to my mansion, I will send Zeni Sengan,” hence the name Sengan Island. It is called Bell Island because when the waves crash into the four holes on this island, it sounds like a bell being struck. Nio Island is the most famous scenic spot in Matsushima Bay. It is said that the name Niojima was given after comparing it to Matsushima Nioson. Although it wasn’t full, there were many people even sitting in the middle seats, making it a very successful cruise. There were also many foreign tourists. Lunch time in town. This is Shunkai, a date seafood restaurant located near Entsu-in. When you think of Matsushima, you think of oysters. You can eat fresh oysters caught locally that day. There was also a seafood menu such as sashimi. Beer first. And fried oysters! ! Freshly fried oysters and salad. Rice, pickles, miso soup. I’ll have it. It’s big and plump♪ Wow! It’s so juicy. No odor at all. Delicious. Too delicious. This is the most delicious fried oyster ever. I also love tartar sauce. It’s already melting in your mouth. This shop is located one street away from Matsushima’s main street, so it has a quiet and calm atmosphere. The oysters are also definitely fresh and really delicious. I decided that I would definitely come back the next time I came to Matsushima. My HP has fully recovered, so I head for the next step with ease. When I walk around Matsushima, I see steep rocks like this all over the place and it’s very exciting♪ I came to Entsuin. Entsu-in Temple houses the mausoleum of Date Mitsumune, the grandson of Date Masamune. It is said to be famous for its beautiful garden. Entrance fee: 500 yen The snow decorations on the trees in the garden make you feel the vestiges of winter. When I was young, I didn’t feel anything about Karesansui. Why am I so drawn to it now? The round window in the arbor was so beautiful that I took a photo of it. I made it the channel icon, so please take a look if you like. The scenery with the pond also calms the mind. Let’s head towards the mausoleum. The mausoleum Sankeiden is said to have been built in 1647 (Shoho 4) by Date Mitsumune’s vassals who mourned his death. Inside the hall was a golden zushi. The statue of Mitsumune riding a white horse was impressive. There was also a cave system in the area where the mausoleum was located. It is said that some of the caves are places where vassals and related people of the Date clan sleep. The next place we visited was Zuiganji Temple, which is located next door. It is said to have been the family temple of the Date family and underwent major renovations in 1609 by Masamune. Admission fee: 700 yen The main hall of Zuiganji Temple is designated as a national treasure. This trip, including yesterday’s trip to Sendai, can be called a tour of national treasures. We were able to go inside and take a tour of the main hall. Although I was not able to photograph it, the gorgeous decorations made with extensive use of gold leaf and lacquer, as well as the paintings on the fusuma sliding doors, are quite beautiful and can be said to be typical of Date Masamune. We were also able to tour the treasure museum. Valuable materials and belongings related to Date Masamune and the Date family were on display. There was a spot where you could see the main hall from the front. The exterior is simple and contrasts with the gorgeous interior. There were also many rock caves at Zuiganji Temple. I’m curious about the stairs that lead up to the top of the rock. Unfortunately, entry is prohibited. I’ve seen many rock caves on Ojima and Entsuin, but I think this one is the largest. It is a wonder that the rock has not collapsed even after hundreds of years have passed since it was cut so deeply . Is it a miraculous balance? I was very satisfied that I was able to see everything I wanted to see in Matsushima. Let’s have some tea and take a break before heading home. As the name suggests, Kanran-tei is a tea room where you can enjoy tea while looking out at Matsushima Bay, but it is said that it was originally a part of Fushimi-Momoyama Castle that Date Masamune received from Toyotomi Hideyoshi and later relocated to Matsushima. If you would like to have tea, please order it when you pay the admission fee. The gold-leafed tokonoma and sliding doors are similar to those seen at Zuigan-ji Temple, indicating that this is a building associated with Date Masamune. I ordered the zunda mochi and matcha set. This is a tea room with a panoramic view of Matsushima Bay. My first time eating zunda mochi. Matcha. I tried to eat elegantly in a nice space, but I was having a hard time cutting the mochi. By the way, there were several types of sweets to choose from. It’s finally finished so I’ll eat it. It’s slightly sweet and has the flavor of edamame, so it’s quite delicious. I’m glad I got to eat a lot of Miyagi’s specialties. Although the outside of Kanranjeong is crowded with tourists, it is surprisingly quiet and feels like a different world. I had a wonderful break time. On the way back to Matsushima Kaigan Station, I took a detour to the Abe Kamaboko store. Since everyone was eating it, I decided to order it too. Grill and eat bamboo kamaboko yourself. It seems like it takes a surprisingly long time. After about 8 minutes, the color finally started to change. Yes, it tastes like kamaboko. It’s delicious, but I wish I had eaten it with wasabi, soy sauce, and mayonnaise.I like things with strong flavors. I’ll be heading back to Sendai soon. Matsushima: It was great! I will definitely come again. There are long lines at the popular beef tongue shop at Sendai Station. Date-san, you’ve been to places like this. I went to this restaurant to grab a bite to eat before boarding the Shinkansen. Let’s have beer and appetizer♪ The appetizer is not tuna, but it is something like tuna and mayonnaise. I don’t know if it was bonito or horse mackerel, but it was very flavorful and delicious. I ordered a 4-piece set of sushi that was easy to eat. I have it from my favorite medium-fatty pork. I’m a person who eats whatever I like. Beer at the end of a trip is delicious! ! I’m also glad that it’s a jug. Have you ever been disappointed in a thin glass of draft beer when you ordered it thinking it was a mug ? It was a good place to get sushi at a reasonable price. I thought about getting a Zunda shake at the end, but the line was long so I gave up. Instead, I took this with me when I returned to Tokyo. Thank you very much for joining me on my journey until the end ! ! ! Thank you for watching until the end! Please subscribe to the channel, give a high rating, and leave a comment.
