This Edohigan-zakura (a variety of cherry tree) is estimated to be over 330 years old, standing approximately 17 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 3.6 meters. Origin of the Name:
The name “Wani-zuka” is believed to originate from a burial mound (zuka) associated with Wani, a historical figure thought to have come from the Korean Peninsula in ancient times. The cherry tree stands atop this mound and has been cherished by locals for generations.
