滋賀のメタセコイア並木道！！
新緑で綺麗でした！！
折り返した位（笑）
県道小荒路牧野沢線の両側に約2.4キロに渡り植えられたメタセコイア。
かなり大きく、空を覆っています。
それが新緑で綺麗な碧って感じに！！
残念ながら、夕方で、イマイチ綺麗に見えないかもですが…
目では本当に清々しく綺麗でした！！
メタセコイアは、裸子植物マツ綱のヒノキ科メタセコイア属に分類される落葉針葉樹の1種です。メタセコイアは、メタセコイア属の唯一の現生種である。葉は短枝に羽状に対生し、秋に紅葉して枝とともに落ちる。中国中部原産であるが、世界各地の公園や並木などに植えられている。メタセコイア属は化石植物として1941年に提唱されたが、そのすぐ後によく似た植物が中国で生き残っていることが発見されたため、生きている化石ともよばれる。絶滅危惧種でもありました。
現在では、ここ滋賀県の並木道の様に、世界各地で植えられています。
中でも、ここ滋賀県高島市マキノ高原のメタセコイア並木道は日本の紅葉100選にも選ばれています。
上記の様に落葉樹ですので、四季に合わせて色々な景色を見せてくれます♪

Metasequoia trees are planted along the Koaraji Makinosawa Prefectural Road for about 2.4 kilometers.
It’s pretty big and covers the sky.
The fresh green leaves give it a beautiful green color!!
Unfortunately, it was evening, so it didn’t look that great…
It was really refreshing and beautiful to look at!!
Metasequoia is a type of deciduous coniferous tree in the Metasequoia genus of the Pinaceae family of gymnosperms. Metasequoia is the only extant species in the Metasequoia genus. The leaves grow pinnately on short branches, turn red in autumn, and fall off along with the branches. Although native to central China, they are planted in parks and tree-lined avenues around the world. The Metasequoia genus was proposed as a fossil plant in 1941, but shortly afterwards a very similar plant was discovered surviving in China, so it is also called a living fossil. It was also an endangered species.
Nowadays, they are planted all over the world, like this tree-lined avenue here in Shiga Prefecture.
In particular, the Metasequoia Tree-Lined Avenue in Makino Highlands, Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, has been selected as one of the 100 best places to see autumn leaves in Japan.
As mentioned above, it is a deciduous tree, so it offers a variety of scenery with each season.
