使い捨てが当たり前の世の中で、モノを大切に使い、その美しさを愛でる文化を伝えたい 和傘・水引 工房 明兎（みんと） 山田ひろみ
かつては金沢にも100軒以上の和傘屋さんがあったと言われています。和傘の産地としては岐阜や京都が有名ですが、金沢は一年を通して雨が多く、冬は湿気を含んだ重たい雪が降ることから、この地の気候風土に耐えられるよう頑丈な和傘が作られてきました。
和傘の風合いは見る角度や条件によって様変わりします。自然光に当たったときの透け感や、実際に傘を差したときに見える内側の質感など、さまざまな表情を見せる和傘を楽しんでほしいです。
This project introduces artists, craftspeople, and professionals in Kanazawa, a city where culture has been alive since ancient times, who are transmitting their traditional skills and Kanazawa’s history and culture to visitors.
In a world where disposability is the norm, we want to convey the culture of using things with care and appreciating their beauty. Wagasa and Mizuhiki (Japanese umbrella and watermark) craftspeiple Hiromi Yamada
It is said that there used to be more than 100 Japanese umbrella shops in Kanazawa. Gifu and Kyoto are famous for the production of Wagasa, but Kanazawa has a lot of rain throughout the year and heavy snowfall with moisture in winter, so sturdy Wagasa have been made to withstand the climate of this region.
The texture of Wagasa changes depending on the angle and conditions from which it is viewed. We hope you will enjoy the various expressions of Wagasa, such as the translucency when exposed to natural light and the texture of the inside that can be seen when the umbrella is actually held up to the light.
