This is a hotel that represents Kagoshima Prefecture. The hotel opened on March 23, 1963. This is a long-established hotel that will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2023. The hotel is located on Shiroyama, a hill 108 meters above sea level. Shuttle buses also operate from near Kagoshima Chuo Station. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of hotel it will be this time (^^). Arrived at the hotel. SHIROYAMA HOTEL kagoshima Total number of rooms: 355 rooms Large public bath available Parking available (paid). It’s a little far from here to the hotel. It feels like taking a walk in the forest (^^). There is a parking lot (780 spaces). 1 night/1300 yen. There is also a shuttle bus running between Kagoshima Chuo Station and the hotel. There is a lot of trains, one every 30 minutes. Whoa. It has dignity. It has a structure that spreads out horizontally. And you can see a beautiful water basin. Now let’s head to the front desk. This armor belongs to Yoshihiro Shimazu, famous for “Oni Shimazu”. I didn’t expect to see it here. Next to it is “Satsuma Burado Gallery”. What is Satsuma Kiriko? He was born in the Satsuma domain (present-day Kagoshima prefecture) at the end of the Edo period. It is a glass craft that is made by covering transparent glass with a thick layer of colored glass and cutting it. This is the Satsuma ware zone. Satsuma ware is a general term for ceramics fired in Kagoshima Prefecture. There are white Satsuma (white mon) and black Satsuma (black mon). I managed to keep a seat with a view of Sakurajima (^^). Breakfast is buffet style, so let’s take a look! . Live kitchen! . Let’s take a look at this first. Bonito! . Behind it were various side dishes. Yuba. And it’s fish cake. The fish cakes are made by Shiroyama Hotel. I want to eat this without missing out! . Next up is this area. Bonito soup and dashi-maki egg. The salt for tempura is Sakurajima komikan salt. Simmered Satsuma dishes are also delicious. This is boiled. There is also pork cartilage stew in miso. Chicken rice! . Chicken rice is a local dish from the Amami region of Kagoshima Prefecture. This dish is eaten by pouring chicken soup over the ingredients. Behind it was a corner for “Red Sea Bream Shio Chazuke”. Does this area come with food? There was rice and bonito flakes on the back. There were two types of miso soup. There’s a Western restaurant on the other side, so let’s go check it out. First up is the salad corner. There are also plenty of dressings. This is where the Western food begins. There’s pizza. The standard Western menu was lined up around here. Seafood yakisoba. We also had roast beef. And warm vegetables and chami pork tonkatsu. Stewed beef tendon. We also had tonkotsu ramen. And then there’s the curry corner. This is minestrone. There was morning curry and Shiroyama curry. And then there’s the bread corner. There are pancakes here. There was also French toast. There is a bakery shop, so there are many kinds. And then there’s dessert. Melon! . It seems that the live kitchen also has desserts. And there is a drink corner. We have Kagoshima tea. Lastly, we went to the live kitchen corner. You can make an omelet here. You can choose the ingredients you want to put inside. And we also had black pork tea shabu-shabu! . I decided to eat the chocolate brûlée later. Black pork tea shabu-shabu. I also made an omelet (^^). I’ve taken a lot of things! . There were so many dishes that I had a hard time deciding what to eat (^^). It looks like we’ll see the sunrise soon. There were still many things I wanted to try. We mainly focused on Kagoshima-style dishes. With egg fried rice with plenty of bonito flakes. Tempura, bonito soup stock rolled eggs, and kibinago dried overnight. Roast beef boiled in fish cakes. Shrimp fritters. Black pork tea shabu-shabu. Red sea bream tide chazuke. And I got an omelet. We use “real bonito flakes” from Makurazaki. The fish cakes were super delicious (^^). Since it was made in a hotel, it felt a little more elegant. Every single item is delicious (^^). The pork cartilage stew in miso had a very deep flavor. The sunrise has come out! . It’s a touching moment ( ¨̮ ). The omelet was also very tasty. Breakfast while watching the sunrise feels so delicious. The red sea bream shiochazuke had a gentle flavor and was delicious. I made chocolate brûlée. I brought dessert and more! . Hotel-made bread. Chiran tea jam and Anno potato jam. Chocolate brulee. Then I got some polar bear mousse and a bite of cake. I ate bread yesterday too. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was really delicious (^^). The dessert was also very satisfying! . Kagoshima tea was a rich tea with a good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Finally, we finished with coffee. I was very satisfied with the breakfast, which far exceeded my expectations (^^). I’ll be checking out soon. I went outside.
