Today’s road trip is taking us to roadside stations in Shiga Prefecture! We plan to visit five roadside stations in Shiga. First, we headed toward a station located in Ryuo, Shiga. Our first stop was Michi-no-Eki Ryuo Kagamino Sato. In this video, we’re heading to Agri Park Ryuo, also in Ryuo. Alright, let’s hit the road! We just visited Michi-no-Eki Ryuo Kagamino Sato. Now, we’re heading to another roadside station in Ryuo. Next up is Agri Park Ryuo. The next station isn’t too far from here. It should take about a 20-minute drive to get there. Ryuo Kagamino Sato is located along National Route 8. It was quite a large roadside station. Their local products section was really impressive too. We’re heading back along the same route we came from. Both roadside stations in Ryuo are about the same distance from the Ryuo Interchange. Between Agri Park Ryuo and Ryuo Kagamino Sato is the Ryuo Interchange. So, it’s natural we end up using the same road again. At Ryuo Kagamino Sato, we bought rice cooked with Awabi mushrooms. We also grabbed some freshly fried croquettes and minced meat cutlets from a butcher. Eating the croquettes and cutlets with the Awabi mushroom rice— it was incredibly delicious! Highly recommended. We actually tried it, and it was amazing. Today’s temperature is 13°C. It feels a bit chilly outside, but inside the car, it’s quite warm. It’s really pleasant weather now. Yesterday was the Spring Equinox and a public holiday. Some people might have taken time off to travel. Being able to go on a two-night trip sounds wonderful. Honestly, I’m a bit jealous. Wow! There’s a place that sells Omi beef burgers! While driving on National Route 477, we spotted a huge hamburger monument. It really caught our attention, so we looked it up later. Turns out, it’s a shop called Omi Beef Burger SUDACU. It’s a hamburger shop run by a well-established yakiniku restaurant called Sudaku. They create premium burgers made from 100% Omi beef. The patty is made by mincing cuts like kalbi and sirloin that are usually served at their yakiniku restaurant. They top it with a homemade Bolognese sauce simmered for over three hours, plus a creamy tartar sauce, creating a truly rich and flavorful taste. Surprisingly, the burger’s best-before time is just 10 minutes! You should enjoy it before the residual heat affects the flavor. They insist you enjoy it at its best, right after it’s made. The shop is located very close to Mitsui Outlet Park Shiga Ryuo. It’s also near the Ryuo Interchange. If you’re nearby, definitely stop by! Next time I’m here, I’ll make sure to check it out too. We’ve been cruising along National Route 477. We’ve made it back near the Ryuo Interchange. Just a little further down the road is Agri Park Ryuo. The next roadside station is one I’ve visited before. I stopped by when I was driving the Suzuka Skyline. It’s another roadside station along National Route 477. From here, it’s 4.7 kilometers to Agri Park Ryuo. We’ll turn right at this traffic light. From here, it’s just 1 kilometer to the roadside station. There it is — Michi-no-Eki Agri Park Ryuo! This is a crepe made with strawberries from Ryuo. Not sure the best way to eat it though! Let’s dig in! It’s sweet and delicious! We just visited Agri Park Ryuo. I had a crepe filled with Ryuo-grown strawberries. I couldn’t eat it inside the car though. The strawberries were sweet, tangy, and super juicy. It was really delicious! The crepe itself matched perfectly with the strawberries — so good! Highly recommended for strawberry lovers and crepe fans. If you visit Agri Park Ryuo, be sure to try one! I personally loved it. And I picked up one more item! It’s a drink made with strawberries grown in Ryuo, Shiga. It’s a sparkling soda made from fermented Ryuo strawberries. It’s sold as a local specialty cider from Ryuo. It was ranked No. 2 among souvenir items! If you’re interested, definitely give it a try. You can even find it outside Agri Park Ryuo. Since there’s also an outlet mall nearby, if you’re ever in Ryuo, check it out. Alright, let’s move on to the next roadside station!
