日本で最も美しい村へ。出雲街道を巡り岡山県を旅しよう|新庄村|美甘宿|津山|勝山

The prettiest village in Japan Traveling through Okayama along old roads Hey, you can spot Tsuyama Castle from here Whoa, that stone wall’s massive Truly a fortress So today… We kicked off in Tsuyama and Go west along the Izumo Kaido Izumo Kaido? It’s this old road linking Hyogo, Okayama, and Shimane. The destination is ‘The most beautiful villages in Japan’ Thing is, there are a bunch of places claiming that title. Kinda confusing, huh! Yeah, true, but still… One of the most beautiful villages Tsuyama Castle Amazing stone walls Tsuyama Castle Fortified stone walls still remain today It would be fun to try bouldering on these stone walls. The main tower is gone, but… The stone walls alone are worth seeing. The cherry blossoms are already gone. Tsuyama Castle is also famous for its cherry blossoms This is the top We conquered Tsuyama Castle! so beautiful! Tsuyama is a big city! Cross that bridge and you’ll reach the old town. The old townscape remains. Shall we go? This is the Edo period. This road is the Izumo Kaido. It continues all the way to Shimane Prefecture. Are we climbing this ladder? Climb up and ring the bell. Fire watch tower. Scary You’re the one who rings that bell There must be a cafe around here This used to be a public bathhouse. Fukuju-yu: A café renovated from a traditional public bathhouse Too bad, it looks like today is a holiday It’s spring break. Is the restaurant open? Olive Restaurant? It’s almost opening time. Customers are lining up. It’s popular. Question What kind of tree is this? Peperomia The correct answer is olive. The hint was meaningless. Hint: Olive Restaurant Looks delicious Soft delicious? mellow feels like happiness What an impressive mansion! Where do we go in? Let’s take a look inside. A merchant’s house from 300 years ago. It has a nice feel to it. I think the transom is stylish too. We can see the garden well. good Let’s decide on this house The station looks like a castle too From Tsuyama to Chugoku Katsuyama To Chugoku Katsuyama Station (50 minutes) Katsuyama City, which prospered as a post town The old townscape remains intact today It’s nice, like a quiet post town Is this road also the Izumo Kaido, huh? If you walk along the Izumo Kaido from Tsuyama, you’ll arrive here. That’s how people used to do it. There are still old streets along the Izumo Kaido. Nice townscape Looks like there’s a samurai residence on the hill Is that a cafe? Roman-tei Shall we go to a cafe? It has a nice atmosphere. The water is clean too. You’re always interested in water quality. It’s really clean. Beautiful Comfortable interior Café au lait made with Jersey cow milk Jersey cow cream brulee 2 combos I definitely want to try “Jersey cow milk” The owner is friendly beautiful It goes well with this wall. Camellia flowers look great in old townscapes. Cute shop curtains This might be “the town of shop curtains.” What? Colorful shop curtains This town is called “the town of shop curtains” Even if you don’t know about ‘the town of shop curtains’… You’ll notice how stylish the shop curtains are. People with keen senses will notice right away, won’t they? You seem like you want to say you have a keen sense… smile you want to punch What line do you want to say when you walk through the curtain? “Is the store open?” “Master, are you still open?” An old-fashioned expression used by stylish men I called a taxi. It’s about 15 minutes to Shinjo Village from here. Is it difficult to get there by anything other than taxi? There’s also a community bus. There are several buses a day, but the times are fixed. We’re here. Shinjo Village, one of the most beautiful villages in Japan The cherry trees along the road were planted 100 years ago These are cherry trees commemorating victory in battle. This row of cherry trees is really amazing. “The most beautiful villages in Japan” What is that? I thought, but It’s a beauty that is uniquely Japanese. Honjin, Sato You can see the cherry blossoms from your room. That’s amazing This place just opened. Huh? Is that true? It has a history of about 300 years… Yes, in a practical sense… It’s been around for about 300 years, but There was a period of temporary closure. Temporary closure for hundreds of years Let’s go eat There are almost no restaurants in Shinjo Village. There is a roadside station. There’s something I want to eat there. What? Gaisen Sakura Shinjo-juku We can eat here Beef bowl mochi Mochi in a beef bowl? The restaurant was closed that day, so I ate there the next day. A must-try dish! Lighting will be held for three days from the peak bloom. It’s beautiful at night. It looks like snow. Japanese people have always loved cherry blossoms… Every year, someone writes “the cherry blossoms are in bloom” in their diary. Therefore, we have cherry blossom data going back 1,200 years. You should eat more protein. I’m riding my bike tomorrow. The nature around the village is very beautiful I want to ride my bike along the Izumo Kaido tomorrow. You’re just getting over being sick. I was worried, but you seem fine now. I’m not exactly full of energy… You tend to push me too hard. For example, if I say I want to go to the bathroom, you ignore me. but you’re very sensitive about your own. I’m glad you’re feeling better! What a beautiful morning. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom. In summer, there’s a tunnel of greenery. In autumn, the leaves change color. In winter, snow piles up. There’s nothing to complain about in any season. The chai is delicious. The cherry blossoms have blossomed more than yesterday. The weeping cherry blossoms have begun to bloom. Weeping cherry blossoms bloom late. Cheers to Shinjo Village You can rent bicycles here Sakuraya: Coworking Space We’re heading along the Izumo Kaido… Towards Mikamo-juku Carp streamers! Beautiful Carp streamers and cherry blossoms A rare sight Spring cycling is the best It feels good Izumo Road There is nothing famous along this road. However, the old scenery of Japan remains. I can hear the echoes. Proof that the forest is beautiful. Princess Mononoke? Let’s cross that bridge and enter the post town. It feels good. Drinking iced coffee while looking at the cherry blossoms. 500 yen is cheap. cherry blossoms falling Spring passes with the flow of the river By the flow of the river Expressing the changing seasons It’s a mountain dog! Cute Special appearance from Princess Mononoke Soba restaurant Are you open? Master, are you still open? 100% buckwheat flour soba Buckwheat flour is produced in Mikamojuku That’s why they can offer 100% buckwheat noodles. The flavor of the buckwheat really comes out. Hot soba and cold soba Which one do you think is more popular? Hot soba! I think cold soba is more popular. I like hot soba noodles. Warm soba noodles are also delicious.
