Yichun is a mountainous prefecture-level city in western/northwestern Jiangxi Province, China, bordering Hunan to the west.

Yichun literally means “pleasant spring”. It is located in the northwest of the province along a river surrounded by mountains.

Yichun has a profound Buddhist culture.

Yichun is a city in the province of Jiangxi, China. The name of the city is derived from the expression “a pleasant spring”, and it was a small settlement which has been developing due to increasingly popular mining business, since the area is rich for natural resources like zinc, copper, aluminum, and even gold.

Today, there are 5 million people in the city, and it is a great place to visit, with plenty of parks, recreation areas, museums, theaters, etc.

Lying in the northwest of Jiangxi Province, Yichun City borders Jiujiang to the north, in the neighborhood of the capital city of Jiangxi, Nanchang to the east and is bounded on the west by Hunan Province.

As one of the 28 main grain producing areas in China, its grain, oil, pig, meat output and bamboo stock rank first in the province. This city is also the holy place of Zen Buddhism and home to many outstanding people in ancient times.

Three of the five schools of Zen Buddhism originated in Yichun. Tao Yuanming, a famous poet of the Jin Dynasty (266 – 420) was born here. A trip to Yichun which features green hills, clear water and pleasant weather will refresh your mind.

The Mingyue (Moon) Mountain with towering mountains, waterfalls, streams and religious buildings is definitely the highlight. If you spend one night in the scenic spot, the sunrise of Taiping Mountain is also a must-see view.

  1. What you do is awesome! I've lived in China for 10 years, travelled a lot but had to leave. I miss China very much and your videos is perfect to recall all the memories. Thank you very much! 加油!!!

  2. Jiangxi is overall the median province in China in term of nominal and per capita GDP, yet I know I'm still gonna feel starstruck by the sheer progress on development here and there if I'm going over there🤩

  3. I been to Yichun city once which is going Mingyue Mountain from Yichun Railway Station by local public bus.

  4. try to upload 4K HDR videos it does improve overall quality & sharpness

  5. This is a nice tour of a relatively small and unknown city in China. It is great to see that the progress that China is making is spread to all levels of society from the World Class Tier one cities to the small little villages in remote areas. Everything is so clean and green. I love it! Thanks Max.

  6. Is it only electric vehicles allowed in Yichun? I did not hear any combustion engine sound.

  7. Good afternoon Max! It really is a very nice and clean city! I liked the Buddhist temple complex more, it's very beautiful, I like to walk around such places! I hope that Max will visit the narrowest city in China whose name I don't remember but it is also cozy and not ordinary! Thanks for the video tour!
