【花見2025】県下最大の一本桜!!ぶらり旅 第500回「岡山県:醍醐桜」-アクセス,駐車場,渋滞,真庭市,天然記念物- Daigo cherry blossoms,Okayama
ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2025年4月に岡山県真庭市にある「醍醐桜」に行きました。
醍醐桜
県下一の巨木と伝えられる醍醐桜は、のどかな山里の原風景の中にあって、ただ1本だけ空に向かってそびえ立つ圧倒的な存在感。
新日本名木百選にも選ばれると同時に、昭和47年12月には岡山県の天然記念物に指定されています。
目通り7.1ｍ、根本周囲9.2ｍ、枝張り東西南北20ｍ、樹高18ｍ、種類はアズマヒガン（ヒガンザクラの一種）で、伝説によれば、元弘2年（1,332年）後醍醐天皇が隠岐配流の際、この桜を見て賞賛したといわれ、この名がつきました。

I’d like to introduce some places I just happened to go to.
In April 2025, I went to “Daigo Sakura” in Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture.
・Daigo Sakura
The Daigo Sakura, said to be the largest tree in the prefecture, stands alone in the tranquil landscape of a mountain village, with an overwhelming presence that towers into the sky.
It was selected as one of the New 100 Famous Trees of Japan, and was designated a natural monument of Okayama Prefecture in December 1972.
It has a diameter of 7.1m, a circumference of 9.2m at the base, a branch spread of 20m from east to west and north to south, and a height of 18m. It is an Azuma Higan (a type of Higan cherry tree). According to legend, Emperor Go-Daigo saw and admired this cherry tree when he was exiled to Oki in 1332, and it was given this name.
[Best time to see] Late March to early April
[Lighting up] During the blooming period, from sunset to 21:00
[Parking fee] 500 yen for four-wheeled vehicles, 300 yen for two-wheeled vehicles
