令和7年度長浜曳山祭 生配信 Nagahama Hikiyama Festival 2025 (live broadcast)

内容：
秀吉公ゆかりの450年以上続く長浜の春のおまつり。国指定重要無形民俗文化財・ユネスコ無形文化遺産登録の勇壮な山車や、華やかなこども歌舞伎を生配信。
The festival started about for hundred and fifty years ago, when Hideyoshi, an up-and-coming warrior and the first lord of the Nagahama castle, gave out congratulatory money to the town people celebrating a birth of his first son. With the money they made Hikiyama floats and pulled them around the town.
●長刀組太刀渡り Tachi-watari: Sword-wielding parade representing the original form of the festival and proceeding in a solemn and traditional manner
●長刀組翁招き Okina-maneki ceremony: Holding a long bamboo stick with the name plate that reads “Naginata-gumi first” and shaking it three times to invite the deity, and pointing the stick to the first float.
●三番叟 Sanbaso: A celebratory dance, marking the beginning of the festival’s dedication Kabuki performance
●奉納狂言(子ども歌舞伎) Children Kabuki performance

One of the highlights of the festival is Kabuki plays performed by boy actors on the stage of the floats. After days of hard training, their splendid performance attracts audience and receive generous applause. The order of the Kabuki dedication is determined at Kujitori-shiki, a Shinto ritual of lottery, conducted on Apr.13.
●曳山と曳山祭 Hikiyama floats and the festival
Decorated with great craft of elaborate curves and luxurious tapestries, the floats are called “Moving Museums”. It has been selected as Important Intangible Folk-Cultural Property in Japan and registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
●三役「振付・太夫・三味線」 San yaku
”Choreographer” who instructs the performance of children’s kabuki, “tayu“, who narrates joruri and “shamisen” player are called “san yaku” (three roles).
●囃子(しゃぎり) Shagiri, Hikiyama festival music
“Shinobue” bamboo flute, “shimedaiko”drum, “oodaiko”large drum, and “surigane”gong, are used in the performance.
